Great price for a quality product + troubleshooting tip

The fingerprint reader works exactly as advertised. The packaging is nice and the product itself looks good. I don't see any issues with the build or finish of the reader. For some windows user who are a little more advanced, if you're having trouble with Windows Hello Setup crashing immediately as soon as you try to set up your fingerprint, check your group policy and re-enable UAC. There's been a bug that prevents the setup from running if you disable the UAC feature.

Update: Second Reader Worked Well

The fingerprint reader arrived on time and installed easily. Unfortunately I was only able to get it to register one finger out of ten. The one finger it was able to register was heavily scared so it may have been reading the scares, not the fingerprint. It did quickly and and accurately log me in using the recognized finger, but I was not willing to trust the process to just one fingerprint. I ultimately returned the product. I don't think there's anything unique about my hands but maybe someone else would have better results. Update: After returning the first figure print reader and writing a review the vendor contacted me and offered to send a second reader to try. The second reader arrived quickly and worked well. I'm very happy with this vendor's proactive response to my issue and confidence in their product. I have other computers that I'd like to add finger print readers to. Assuming this one continues to function well I'd definitely purchase this reader from this vendor.

Excellent fingerprint reader!!

This little device is amazing and it exceeded my expectation. I was skeptical at first, but then when I started using this fingerprint reader to sign in I realized how convenient it makes my life be. To get the user manual, you need to scan the barcode which is located on the back of the package. Setup process is easy. Just add your fingerprint and that's it! Instead of typing a long password, simply put your finger on the reader and the computer unlocks instantly, with no lag. I'm glad I made the purchase!

This tiny little thing is great.

I tried setting this up yesterday and I couldn't get it to show up in Windows 10 hello but my PC was recognizing it as a biometric device. So the problem was that a long time ago when I first setup my Windows 10 installation I was afraid of microsoft stealing my personal data so I went and disabled a lot of telemetry and other services that transmit data to microsoft and one of the services I disabled was called Windows Biometric Service and forgot that I had disabled it. So because of that this device didn't show up in the menu. An easy way to check if you disabled your service is to open task manager and click on show more details and go to the services tab at the top and at the bottom near show fewer details you should see a hyperlink called "Open Services" and in there search for "Windows Biometric Service" Aside from all that, this reader is quite fast. It's as fast as the reader on my Samsung Galaxy S10+ The build quality is all metal and quite nice. In the photos the fingerprint scanner area looks recessed but it is actually flush with the usb housing. This is a quick review, I have only used this device for 2 days and will update this if I notice any bad things about this device later on. TLDR; Very fast, Great build quality, Recommended

Awesome

This thing is awesome, I'm using it with a custom built PC running Windows 10 Pro and it works flawlessly. Super quick to unlock and so much more convenient than having to input a password all the time. Tempted to buy a second one for my laptop. Highly recommend it. Only annoying thing was trying to install the drivers. It comes with a little piece of paper with a QR code to scan which makes no sense at all. I had to download an app on my phone to then get the website address and then type it into my computers browser... why not just print the web address on the piece of paper? Who knows, maybe I'm the only one who thought that was bizarre. Either way still an awesome little device.

Quality made and it works great.

Not much to say! It's a fingerprint reader that plugs right in and (after driver a install, of course) works in a snap! Love this thing to bits! I always love showing off how fast and convenient it is to people. I have no need for two factor authentication or what-have-you that other people seem to care a whole ton about. So for that, I cannot comment. But for my purposes for just logging in? Best simple little product I may have ever gotten myself. If you're still looking, look no further!

Small,Easy and Fast to Use with Windows Hello / SAP etc. - Perfect for a Laptop

As you can see in the picture I have tested and worked with many fingerprint sensors for almost 20 years. The Benss sensor is definitely the smallest one we have tested so far. There are two Benss sensors in the picture. Can you find them? We recently integrated our bioLock biometric control center for SAP ERP with Windows Hello. So, we are identifying easy to use and easy to install fingerprint devices that work with Windows Hello. From the user perspective the Benss Sensor is clearly worth a recommendation. On some laptops it was a little difficult to install and required downloading the drivers from the providers website (as indicated on the packaging). Other laptops like Lenovo and Dell were plug and play - BUT they required a restart after the installation for the sensor to be recognized. We also tested the device with a Microsoft Surface with build in face recognition. Here the face recognition and the fingerprint were “fighting”, and we had to disable the face recognition for it to work well. But a normal buyer will purchase this device for a laptop with no biometrics installed and they will be very happy to see, how fast the sensor logs on to Windows. You can also create multiple Windows profile (for the family) and each can enroll their finger to their profile (optional you can enroll multiple finger from different users to one profile). But we like the option for the user to put the finger on and it will identify the user based on the finger and open the user’s profile. This is great for fast user switching, if multiple users share a PC at work for smaller tasks (warehouse / health care etc.). Great product, but keep it in the laptop at all times, otherwise you will be searching for it a lot 😊

Instant login with a touch!

Works great. Only way I log into my Win10 laptop now. Small form factor, does not stick out like a sore thumb! Response time is .. immediate! I have another laptop with a reader built in. I have to swipe my finger on the old laptop for reader to work. On then Benss reader, I just touch and done! Need Microsoft to add the ability to use the reader to log into websites and other login capable apps. My old pc (Win7) has the ability to log into PC and secure apps like excel as well as log into websites. This is NOT a 'fault' for Benss, their device works great, microsoft needs to open up on Windows 10.
