Excellent product offered. Learn to use it properly. Place the "mesh side" on top of the frying pan otherwise oil will spill over your ranger. Turn over and use the wire with 4 dents side to place it over the counter/table to rest. The 4 "dents" are the "legs". Many people that are giving bad qualifications do NOT know how to use it properly, they place the 2 wires side over the frying pan instead = WRONG !.! In most pans the 4 indentations rest outside of the pan. Due to superficial tension of the liquid, the oil 'travels' to the outside of the pan were it encounters the indentation, a perfect point for gravity to do it's work, accumulating oil until the weight is big enough to drop outside the pan. You can see photos publish by users where the oil drops are just around the indentations !! Of course, the product does not work - they say. Also, there is a 3 mm gap all around the pan where the oil escapes too !! BergKoch: please create a "user manual" with instructions on how to use it properly. Sound ridiculous but your ratings on the product will improve !! Congratulations BergKoch, excellent product.

I have a kitchen aid one that is 13 inch and needed a smaller ones for my smaller frying pan, it was more expensive than I thought it would be but still decided to buy it. Does not splatter at all it works great, but don’t use it on smaller pan because it will discolor it. Would buy this brand again, the people who says it does not work is because they have the side up the side that has the metal is the one that should be up.

This will be my second purchase of a splatter screen. My first one wasn't built this solidly and between melting and some rusting, is no longer with us. The old one had way more plastic - not just on the handle - and was not built with stainless steel to my knowledge. The old one was also rather flimsy. This new splatter screen only has the plastic handguards, very solid stainless steel, and the support rods are designed to keep it from sliding off the pan - the old one was just flat with no support rods at all. This thing just seems to ooze quality - can't wait to use it!

Most of these screens work well enough for keeping grease splatter at bay and this one is no different in that regard, but what I have had a problem with is durability. I bought this to replace a mesh splatter screen I got at the local grocery store just because I needed one since our old one had busted. Of course that one busted in the same fashion in that the mesh pulled away from the outer ring. It’s not as if we abused it, but just washing it with a sponge by hand seemed to be enough to break it. This screen is very solid by comparison with a metal mesh that is heavier than any of the previous screens we’ve had. The small amount of extra weight added by the stands that allow you to set it on the counter without making a mess is actually welcome since it tends to keep the thing from moving around when you’ve got it on a pan. I’ve only used it a few times at this point, so long term durability has yet to be tested, but so far so good. I’ll update if anything changes.

I bought this as replacement for a screen from another manufacturer that I returned to Amazon. That screen was bent and ineffective. I wondered if all screens were going to be disappointing. This screen is fabulous. The screen has some bumps but the rim is nice and flat and sits firmly on my 12 inch fry pan. I sauteed some asparagus this morning with heat turned up higher than normal to test its ability to keep oil in the pan. Zero grease came out except when I lifted the screen to turn the asparagus over. I've had inexpensive screens in the past. This one is much sturdier and I love the "feet" for keeping oil off the counter when I'm done cooking. Easy to clean with a soapy sponge. Looking forward to using when I sautee chicken thighs. Last time I did that it took an hour to clean the mess off the range, floor, backsplash, etc. I threw my old screen away rather than clean it. I'm certain this screen will eliminate most of that mess. The ad mentions German quality. The screen is designed in Germany, made in China.

I have some old splatter screens that merely lessened but did not eliminate grease from landing on the stovetop while frying/sauteeing. While this screen was slightly more expensive than some others, I was hoping that the stainless steel and the construction would be better. The screen is slightly heavier than others and sits firmly on the top of the pan virtually eliminating splatter without steaming the food. It fit in the bottom shelf of the dishwasher and came out clean (and rust-free, unlike the others). I am very pleased. Note to cooks: I know this is obvious but if you're distracted while cooking, it's easy to forget that the screen gets very hot so be careful not to touch it or bump up against it when you remove it.

Excellent product! It's actually a bit heavier than I thought it would be.....not cheaply built. It sure is alot better than our older screen...We have a glass top stove and this screen has tremendously cut down on the splatter from frying foods. Sure makes cleanup easier! Trouble free purchase.... arrived quickly, packaged well,no damage.....wish all my purchases went this smoothly.

Great quality and craftsmanship. Is backed by a Life Time warranty so that speaks for the quality of the product. Large size and works great! This is an update: Still doing a great job at keeping grease in its place... Read some of the lower reviews and is obvious that it is impossible to make everyone happy. The screen in this unit is as compact as can be. Other than using a solid lid it will be unrealistic to expect it to block all grease. Especially if frying food that tends to shoot grease at high speed. It does its job, just imagine not using it and the mess that one would have to deal with.

I cook ALOT of bacon (5+ lbs/week) and have used this every time with no complaints. I hold my hand over it just to "test" it and never been splashed once. I'd say it stops more than 97%, but that is a very good estimate. I havent had anything splash through but I usually cook with bacon grease as well (maybe its too large to pass through?). Fits my 10.25 lodge cast iron nicely with plenty on the edges. Has bumps on the edge so you can rest it without contaminating it. Handle has never been hot to the touch. I did accidentally set it down on a burner and it caught all the bacon grease on fire and left a nice burn mark on the screen, but it only impacts the aesthetics not functionality -- so watch for that if you care. I'd buy again.

Nice quality. I have used the cheap $3 type and they don't last very long. This spatter screen is much heaver quality with a sturdy ring. I like the bars across the screen as it lets you sit it down without having grease on the counter. It works best by putting it on the skillet with the bar up so you can flip it over when you need to sit it off of the pan and have clean resting legs. I would recommend this to anyone.
