Tool worked, phaser wasn't the issue tho.
Wedge worked as described, but the guides had shattered rendering tool unnecessary so off with the timing cover. Will be replacing broken parts and then if all issues are still not fixed will do phasers with this wedge and not pulling everything again.

I bought this tool, as I had recently put in a 2009 Ford F150 4.6 2V in my 1998 Mustang GT. The swap went great, but the cam reluctor wheel, or the cam gear, was incorrect. Usually in order to change it, you have to remove the front timing cover to free the chain and insure timing is correct. Usually a 4 hour job minimum. With this tool, I wedged it between the slack and tension side and had my work done in 45 minutes.
