• UTILITY TORCH FOR OUTDOOR USE: Solid, single unit torch is a lawn and garden favorite. Quick-start trigger produces a large flame that is easily adjustable and controllable, to aid you in many outdoor essentials including weed and insect control, blacktop repair, and grill and fire pit ignition. Quickly extinguishes when the job is finished.
  • SELF-IGNITING MECHANISM: Powered completely by propane or MAPP gas. Simply fasten a small sized propane or MAPP gas cylinder tank (not included) to the end. Then squeeze the trigger and your torch will fire right up. The control valve regulates the pressure of your flame, so you are always in control of the flame’s output.
  • LIGHTWEIGHT FEEL WITH ERGONOMIC HANDLE: The slip-resistant ergonomic foam-padded handle offers nice balance and maximum comfort for you to effectively burn away unwanted weeds in your lawn, flower beds, or along the cracks on your sidewalk and driveways. The torch is lightweight, giving you complete control of the tool for detailed burning — even one-handed. No more blisters, sore wrists, and other common pains that occur when you weed and landscape by hand.
  • LONG-REACH KEEPS YOU AT A SAFE-DISTANCE: Reaches 34” in length to reduce unnecessary bending and crouching while landscaping, and the chances of sustaining burns or other injury when igniting a grill or campfire. When properly operated in accordance to the operation manual (provided), outdoor torches are a safe and more effective alternative to insecticides and manually removing weeds by hand. For low-to-moderate weed counts.
  • EASY STORAGE: Once you've used your weed torch, all you have to do is let it cool off and place it in a well ventilated area. The thinly engineered rod of this torch is perfect for your valuable shelf space.

I bought this torch thinking that my weed problems would finally be conquered, only to find that that is not necessarily true. I had visions of the torch quickly turning weeds to crisp death. I have not yet tried using it in my grass yard. I think it would probably kill surrounding the grass. Fortunately, I have a lot xeriscaping with lots of small weeds. The torch worked well in that area. But you have to leave the torch on the weed longer than I had envisioned. If you have this kind of landscaping and you have a problem with numerous small weeds, using this torch is the way to go. I tried it on larger weeds, but it takes too long to turn them crispy- better to just pick 'em. I do burn small amounts of trash (I don't shred sensitive info). It is quite easy and quick to use the torch for that. I had bought those little camping propane bottles to use as fuel. I was afraid that I would use them up quickly, but that wasn't a problem, at all. I have a large front and back yard and spent a long time burning weeds, and never used up 1 bottle. It took several burnings to use the bottle up. I also like that the torch has an electric push button lighter. So, it's never a problem to just screw on a propane bottle and fire it up. I would like to say that even though this torch did not quite perform in the way I envisioned, I enjoy using it. It is so simple to use and it's so cheap that I value it alot.

this is the most amazing thing ever. it beats bending over weeding every single day. i have literally burned up every single weed in my back yard in two days. LOVE this. buying for me friends too. can't beat this thing. propane is cheaper at walmart or home depot.

Boy toy for sure! My hubby uses it when we go camping and all of the men in camp sites around us ask where they can get one. We brought it to one of the cub scout camp outs and you would have thought the thing was made out of gold. Needless to say this thing rocks. All men will love it. We’ve used it to burn grass/weeds around our large trees in our yard (to lessen the snake hide outs). Do you have a man that is hard to shop for for Xmas or birthdays....add this sucker to your cart NOW!

I have a rock parking area in front of my house. It was turning green from all the grass and weeds growing in. It took some time but this propane weed torch took care of the problem. Much better than using Round Up which my yard man suggested.

It works, but I find the whole concept of it to be a little deceiving. It takes awhile to kill a live weed, so much so, I have very little patience! I prefer to kill the weed chemically, and when dead and brown, I use this to burn the remains, which occurs more quickly! Just my opinion, again, because I have no patience, and I have many tall weeds to kill! If you have smaller weeds to kill, this may be for you, it DOES work and is light and handy to use!

Works great, larger flame than I expected. Easy to operate, I like how much smaller and compact it is compared to the larger ones.

I absolutely love this device. I hate yardwork, especially in the heat. We had a problem with "Sticky Weed" which produces gummy little balls that we're getting all over my dogs. I got this torch and love burning them down to crust.

I ordered this yesterday and received it this afternoon. The minute the rain stopped here in the weedy Pacific NW I attached a propane cylinder from my camping supplies and gave it a try. The ignition button worked great and lit on the first try. No need for lighters or sparks to light this one which is a huge plus especially if it is windy. My flame was extinguished several times but I was able to re lite it in an instant with no effort at all. I started burning wet weeds that grow on the street curb, then on my paver patio and having never used a tool like this I thought it took longer than I was expecting. I burned some to complete ash and other long leggy weeds just until they fell over. I'll see in a week or so if this worked as weeds tend to grow very fast in this area. Once I got going I couldn't stop! This thing is addicting much like my gas powered pressure washer:) I have arthritis in my thumbs and wrists and had no problem holding and maneuvering this tool around for a solid hour. I would recommend this torch for burning weeds in smaller hard to reach areas like in rockery, between pavers, expansion joints in curbs and driveways... I found it became tedious trying to burn larger patches which could be pulled in a fraction of the time despite the fact I HATE weeding. Overall this tools was uncomplicated and so easy to use right out of the package which also was easy to open! I love the quick and effortless ignition switch, the comfortable ergonomic shape and foam grip covered handle, ease of attaching the propane cylinder, light weight, and how easy and fun it is to casually walk around frying those insidious weeds! I almost purchased another model which attaches to a large propane tank, has a long hose and does not self ignite, because it had tons of great reviews. This Housables Propane Garden Torch only had 6 but they were all positive so I took my chances and I am glad I did. The two things that ultimately prompted me to order this product were the igniter and the smaller light weight propane cylinder.

I have two gravel driveways that are quickly getting overgrown with weeds. Not keen on using herbicides, so thought I'd try heat. So far so good. Only comment is that if I was going to do a lot of this sort of thing I would buy a larger torch that uses #20 propane tanks. However, for my needs this is a perfect solution!

Before moving to a smaller property, I had a Weed Dragon which required shlepping around a 20lb. propane tank and manipulating a hose. I hesitated to buy this Houseables Weed Torch Propane Burner, because I feared it was too small for the job of clearing the weeds in my yard and driveway and I did not wish to add to the glyphosate polution that is destroying our planet and our health. Anyway it is easy to carry, lights easily and stays lit, doesn't take up much storage space, and it does the job.
