I got to say that the setup was amazingly quick but I am using this in a home environment so some of my smart products needed finessing or in the case of Sonos needed to buy the Sonos boost because they couldn’t reconnect my speakers to wireless. Message boards talked about this. Nest IQ cameras while they work act like they aren’t connected...issue seems to be on the Nest side. I had gig capable speeds but were getting 300ish with my nighthawk. I upgraded to cat7 cables and my new setup gives me about 600-700mbps now. Patience is needed but took less than a day to get everything working again.

I cannot say enough about this system. I upgraded to the Business solution, even though it was only for my home, because i have close to 100 connections in the house wanted to ensure the system did not overload. I ended up purchasing this product after returning a competing product that used 4 nodes and continuously dropped connections, forcing page refreshes, and yielded slow speeds. This solution worked perfectly with just two nodes, no lost connections for any device and speeds are great with our gigabit service, It took a couple of days for the system to normalized which device was going to connect to which node, and Amazon Echo was a little hit or miss with all room music for the first couple of days, but after that, the system just worked. PERIOD! The only way it could be better would be to have parental firewalls at the node level, but not having any dead spots upstairs, in the backyard, front yard, or anywhere in our two story 3800sqft internally insulated home is incredible.

So far so go. I installed the 3 pack to include 1 router and 2 satellite modules about 2 weeks ago in my 2500sqf house as I work from home and need reliable WiFi.I can't complain at all, the installation process was simple, the setup and configuration via the Orbi App is a breeze with simple to follow step-by-step instruction. The Network Map feature is great, being able to monitor all devices on the network to the level at which they are connected (Router vs Satellite) and being able to turn off a devices individual connection instantly is awesome. These Orbi devices replaced a previous mesh system that initially was very good but was completely dropped by the manufacturer when the company was bought out. I used this other mesh product to replace an older Netgear Router and Extender but wish I'd stayed with Netgear products all along, they know what they are doing in this field and make a solid reliable product. If you want more control of your network settings then this product can be added to the Netgear Insight App which will give you the option to pretty much change any setting you want as an IT professional or network manager.Speed wise this product has covered my house with super-fast, solid signal WiFi. Hopefully this will continue and I won't have to make further investment in my infrastructure.

Providing WiFi coverage throughout a very large, three story historic building is a real challenge. High reliability was essential since we planned to update our building safety and security systems to new wireless sensors and central monitoring via Internet while continuing with all the normal office equipment, computers and phones. Signals have to penetrate multiple thick plaster and lath or stone walls. Over the years we've struggled with various single access points, but never got adequate coverage in the more distant or heavily blocked areas on all three floor. We eventually decided to try an Orbi Pro router/access point with three satellites. It did the trick. I like that the units communicate with each other through a separate out of band back channel, freeing normal WiFi channel bandwidth for doing the work we bought the system to do. The system was a breeze to install and configure and the Orbi App provides me with a comforting, easy to use way to monitor system operation whenever desired.

Even though this is marketed as a business system I opted to purchase it for home use. Reasoning is the attractive design, included mounting options and time limited guest / customer network. Previously I was using a different mesh network with 3 points, also using wireless backhaul, but not on a dedicated wireless channel. My performance was poor throughout the home, and good luck trying to get a connection outside. This Netgear setup replaced the Google WiFi system, and happy to report that unlike the Google Home, these Orbi's do work in Mesh mode when changing to bridged/AP mode. Installing this system was a breeze, within 15 minutes I was up and running, using a Bitdefender Box as my "fiber modem" and these 2 WiFi devices as access points. Performance increased drastically, providing a full bar service anywhere within our home as well as the front and back yards. Even at our neighbors we get a 3 bar signal inside.

Very happy with this purchase. Product was simple to setup and looks great with the wall mount setup. You have all the hardware to install on the wall, ceiling, or on a desktop. So far has been rock solid on performance and I have had zero problems attaching all my devices to this network. Coverage is excellent.

This is an EXCELLENT wi-fi mesh system for home or business. The web-based setup is identical to other Netgear routers. Easy to use and has most or all of the options that most people will want. (I only use the web-based interface to setup my wi-fi routers, because I like doing it without sending any info to Netgear. So I don't have any insight on the mobile setup app.) I really like the ability to setup three different wi-fi networks with this system. One is the "admin" network, which is a wi-fi network that has access to all network devices (just like most basic wi-fi routers). The second is an "employee" network, which is essentially a guest network (which is the way I use it) -- devices attached to this network do not have access to any other devices on the network, even though they are in the same IP segment. The third is a true guest network, with the ability to set time limits on the connection and other guest-related settings. The range and performance are both top-notch. I have used a ton of different wi-fi routers, and this is among the best in both categories. Really stellar. The units are identical in appearance to each other, and very unobtrusive. The set comes with three sets of brackets in case you want to hang any of them from the wall or ceiling. Naturally, the system is a little more complicated to setup than a single router, but well worth the hour or two you might spend coming up to speed on it. For firmware updates, the system will automatically check and update the main unit and each of the satellites at the same time (on one page of the web-based UI). Highly recommended!

As a Cisco professional, I'd have to say the orbi mesh system is pretty dependable in my 3000 sq. Ft. Home. I have 2 satellites and have no issues whatsoever with bandwidth issues, streaming or with NAS. I have 2 Enterprise level routers by Cisco, an enterprise firewall ASA , qnas 16 drive NAS and a PoE 5 camera networked PVR video recording throughout the house and outside. No issues with latency, I can set up SSH and telnet access since the orbi uses openwrt and can further customize for me PKI authentication at my house utilizing Linux and windows. Can even change the SSL certificate to that signed from my certificate authority...nice system.

Our house is long and slim. I'm working in the IT business, and I am a bit of a geek, so we have lots of network devices all across the house, both wired and wireless. The FIOS router you cannot get around is nice, but not really reliable and not strong enough to cover the whole house. And here is where Orbi comes into play! A Orbi Pro with 2 satellites provides full wifi speed on all 3 floors in every corner of the house. With its dedicated backbone on its own radio performance is not cut in half (as it happens with all repeaters/wifi extenders!). The Pro version is great because it allows more clients to connect per station. I admit that the price for Orbi or Orbi Pro is not cheap, but instead of trying a new wireless router every year that at the end doesn't solve your reception issue, a mesh network is easy and expandable over time. And from all the mesh networks Orbi has proven in multiple tests that it is by far the best...

When the router works, all is great. I love it. For a Pro router, well that is just a misnomer. The Orbi Pro can not sustain repeated heavy use. And I repeat, the Orbi Pro cannot sustain repeated heavy use. I have only had this router for 4 months. Unfortunately, it is past my return timeline, otherwise I would return it. Prior to this unit, I had and still have a true professional router, the Juniper Netscreen SSG5 w/ built-in Wifi. The juniper is still on my network but due to its location and limited speed I decided to give the Netgear Orbi a try for a whole home wireless mesh network. I like the Orbi because it really has good coverage. With only two units, one main and satellite there are hardly any dead spots in my 1500 sql home. And, we have plaster walls and ceiling in more places than I can count. I dislike the Orbi because after purchasing an Amazon Fire TV stick (the newer model) and Sonos One we have had to reboot the Orbi every other week. Trying to stream movies on a local share within our home is too much for this Orbi. It just freezes up. I am surprised streaming movies on a local share is too much for this Pro unit. Without streaming, the Orbi pro performs as advertised. Our local NAS (network storage device) is a QNAP unit. We don't watch much movies, but when we do the Orbi is pretty much useless after the first hour of streaming. Has anyone else experienced this? The router works great, but it appears under moderate to heavy load it just needs a reboot.
