3rd time's a charm!
While it took 3 different orders to finally receive the right Casio LK280 keyboard. Firstly, you have to be careful reading the reviews of the Casio keyboards since on the same web page you can choose from various models: the LK175, LK260 or the LK280. When viewing your model of interest, the reviews attached to your selection will unfortunately include the reviews for all 3 models. This seems to be a departure from Amazon's typical model of information. So, if you're not careful, you might be reading a wonderful review of the LK280 when you're thinking it's for the LK260, or a lesser expensive model. This is what happened to me. I ordered the LK260 thinking it had all the attributes I was interested in but they belonged to the Casio LK280. In fairness to Amazon, they did precede each review with the appropriate model number but in very small font. Again, this is a departure from the norm: one product and only reviews pertaining to that product. My LK260 keyboard order arrived safely packed in another protective shipping box but was promptly returned in favor of the LK280. That ordered, however, arrived without a protective shipping box. It was shipped in the manufacturer's 4-color commercial store shelf box. As you'd expect with heavy Christmas orders, the box arrived damaged with a gaping hole in its center. I returned the keyboard but not before contacting Amazon's Customer Care department. I spoke to the rep to register my concern and they investigated the shipping problem and apologized for the inconvenience and promised that my re-order will be packaged correctly (meaning in a protective shipping box, like they did with the model LK260 keyboard. After all, keyboards are a sensitive instrument). Unfortunately, my replacement LK280 keyboard arrived again without an outside protective box. However, no visible shipping damage to the container was evident this time. I unboxed the instrument and inspected it. No apparent damage was noted. I set it up, plugged it in and played it. The sound and feel of the keyboard was exceptional. I highly recommend it. I purchased the unit for my wife who wants to learn to play the piano and with keyboard lights, this one is a no brainer. This model has many tones (600 to be exact), lots of rhythm modes and built-in songs, plus a 6 track recorder. How cool is that? At this price of $200.00, it's a steal! Especially when you search around the internet, you'll find this model selling for $400.00!! Now if Amazon could get its packaging problem straightened out, great. Otherwise, it might be a hit and miss game. Good luck.

The best learning tool for a beginner!
This product really works great for an adult beginner like me. I've placed "Color Piano Stickers for Keys" that identifies each key with a note -- which enabled me to read sheet music (this product comes with 2 books and I have a scale book) and learn even more quickly. I love the larger LCD screen, too. I am pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of the lessons -- I can now play a few easy songs (without light's guidance) just in days. The only thing that is missing -- Casio needs to sell us MIDI music files that are formatted and ready to be uploaded into the piano for more lighted lessons. Update after one month: I can now play Moonlight Sonata (without any lighted key assistance).

Very fun
It is the best way to learn piano for those who are not interested in learning to read the pentagram. I am 57 years old, and I am having a lot of fun. I see my progress in a matter of tens of minutes. I can repeat and repeat a song until I master it, first with one hand, then with the other and then (now I'm going into that) with both at the same time. There are more than 100 songs, and you can download more from the internet. There are hundreds of different instrument timbres. It is amazing how the fidelity to the sound of each instrument has been achieved, but the accordion caught my attention especially. The automatic accompaniment makes your music sound like a professional orchestra.

This is so awesome..
Don't want to repeat the same as everyone else.. but I just played this on Organ mode. Man oh man. It's like 2 devices in one. The sound is great playing it as a keyboard/ or Organ. Another favorite of mine, the volume control - I can play at night without waking up the family. I am a beginner in all this but I did pretty well playing chop sticks. I know, easy song - but heck I'm a beginner. I just love this thing.. and for only $199. Midi support is a big bonus but for now I'm okay with Chop Stick, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.. Cheers.

Great Little Piano with lots of features and learning for kids & beginners
First Unit: Received a defective unit, left speaker is DOA.... You’d think a reputable such as CASIO would have better quality control, and I’m pretty sure it must be a conector they forgot to plug. Spoke to tech support and will wait to receive a replacement. UPDATE Two days later I received a replacement from Amazon and this one has both speakers working. I’m glad Amazon has such amazing customer support. The keyboard itself is pretty amazing and has lots of great features. I bought this for my daughter and I wanted something she could learn piano but also use to interact with music apps on the computer and her phone. She loves the mic input and the fact that ahe can connect her iPad through the keyboard and sing karaoke style, as well as control garage band, synthesia & other apps using a usb to lightning port adapter. Very easy to use, nice onboard sounds and features but the fact that it has usb and midi means you can get any sounds you want through the iPad or computer than just the built in ones. Loading midi files through the SD card is very easy and as long as you set the midi file to play Left hand parts throughout midi Ch 3 and Right Hand Parts through Ch. 4 the piano will light up and the lessons will be separated LR hands. Very happy with this purchase and the customer support amazon provided!

Amazing for my kids and my home studio
I love this keyboard. The light up keys/teaching features are wonderful and go at your own pace so even my 5 year old can play Moonlight Sonata. Good build quality, touch reaponsive keys. The sampling feature was a bit confusing, but fun once I learned how to use. Its great as a MIDI controller in Reaper DAW. Easy to set up, and 61 keys is perfect size for my corner studio space (see photo). The stand that came with the kit is good, though I wish it had the latches that screw in to bottom of keyboard. Will be upgrading stand at some point. The headphones that came in the bundle are trash. Feel like they are made of cardboard. Extremely low quality and uncomfortable. Still was an OK deal for $20 more than the keyboard list price because the First State (think thats the brand) stand is worth around $20 by itself. Picked up a Donner Sustain Pedal for $10 which I highly recommend.

I've already set it to add my favorite new songs like John Legend's All of Me
This thing has the power to change your life, you children's lives, etc. It is the least expensive model of any of the learning keyboards I could find. I've already set it to add my favorite new songs like John Legend's All of Me.

Great value, sounds good, lots of features
Pros: Really great sound out of a keyboard (two speakers) Great value Lots of pre-loaded songs - our son likes to play with these and keeps him interested in playing Light up keys is a fun feature for kids Comes with everything you need...keyboard, stand, headphones, power cord Cons: Not super intuitive to use some extra features (standard playing is easy of course) Stand is a bit chintzy but it's functional and honestly I wouldn't want to have to pay more for a more sturdy stand

Dance Music Feature is Pure Gold
My 8 year old son wanted a keyboard for Christmas. He noticed everyone else in the family plays an instrument, and he felt left out of the fun. He suffers from sensory issues and is on the autism spectrum...and finds the only music enjoyable to be the classical or electronic dance music. The first day he played around with the lighted keys, learning mode, and tempos. Yesterday I showed him how to use the dance music mode and by tonight it sounds like he could go out and dj an event hahaha! I haven't seen him so happy, energetic, and determined in a long time. Thank you for the perfect gift!

This Casio LK-280 is teaching me how to play!
After spending five days exploring the menus, buttons and the myriad of tones and rythms on this keyboard, I already can play three songs! I had never played piano before, but the way this instrument is designed gives you confidence to practice alone and learn at your own pace. Highly recommended for beginners. Features like pedal port, SD card reader to play your favorite midi songs, internal memory for recording your performances, usb connection for PC or ipad, mic input for sampling or singing, audio output for earphones or connect it to external audio system, are very convenient yet hard to find together on entry level keyboards.
