Very strong and durable. I'm using it to attach a gyroscope for my GoPro to the handlebars of my mountain bike. It held up but I did have to keep tightening the screws to keep it from moving. The scope is top heavy so it is not a bad reflection on the mount. I would recommend the mount, just keep in mind it is big and you'll need to besure it will fit where you plan on mounting it.

The old saying "You Get What You Paid For" defiantly describes this product. You pay top dollar and expect top notch product and that is what I got. The machining is spot on, nice heavy weight to it so you know it's not a POS. The clamp works great on odd size bars and holds in place well during the bumpy ride. Have this on my son's MTB and he has several races with it mounted on the handle bars and it has yet to move. Great for the Go-Pro but not willing to put my $5,000 DSLR camera on it for a ride. Will be ordering several more and more than happy to pay the price for good quality products.

Upon opening the box in which this mount came in I first noticed the weight of the mount. This is no wimpy mount. It had some weight to it. It took no time at all to attach it to my electric scooter. Setting the video cam to facing forward was a breeze even though the scooter has two large rear view mirrors on the handle bars. The grip on the handle bars is very tight. I now plan to purchase another one for my other electric scooter. Cost a little more than most mounts but well worth it.

I bought this because, I was tired of dealing with the standard plastic bike mount, that always inevitably breaks, because its made of plastic. I agree with many of the reviews here. This is a very well built bike mount, aluminum construction, very solid, and has some heft to it. The jaw will open wide, plenty for my liking, and should mount on any pipe up to 1.3 inches in diameter. The reason this costs as much as it does, is because its not simply just a mount. This mount has two sets of adjustments up at the top. If you loosen the screw, it will allow the whole top to rotate 360 degrees, and the tripod tip, to rotate 90 degrees up or down. What I found odd however, is that the tripod mount adapter they included for use with action camera's, is made of plastic. I purchased the Chronos all metal tripod mount adapter, so that I could keep things all metal. This bike mount uses a standard 1/4-20 tripod thread, which means that you can even mount pocket camera's or DSLR's to it as well. Make sure you have your adjustments all set tight, as there is a lot of vibration from riding on uneven roads, and or on gravel roads, so you don't want things to start slipping. I am still getting used to my new bike mount, but I do love it, so I am giving it a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

I just got back from 11 days in Ecuador on an on and off road tour via motorcycle. I used this to mount my GoPro in 2 different places on a BMW F800 and it was awesome. Supper adjustable, no vibration and it never moved. I even dropped the bike directly on it while it was mounted on the crash bars and nothing happened, That is a 500# bike. I was amazed and would reccomend this to anyone.

Used with my GoPro 3 silver, mounted to the handlebars of my 06' Kowaski Vulcan Nomad. It can be tightened really tight, excellent grip. The camera is completely in the wind and held up perfectly on a 300-mile trip. Highway speeds, up to 80 mph.

The first mount that I received was very wobbly when a camera was placed straight up and the clamp was tightened. It never occurred to me that I received a defective product when I asked the seller if I was using it incorrectly. They immediately replaced it and let me keep the old one! (It still holds the camera in place if it's in a 90 degree position... I'm sure it'll have a use someday) The seller was really prompt in sending a replacement so automatically this gets 5 stars in my book. The product itself though. Dang this thing is VERY sturdy. I use it on my bicycle so I can't say how well it goes for faster speeds, but it stays still even when I'm going downhill and hit 30mph. I don't have to worry about my mini-dash cam moving and changing angles mid-ride. All in all it's a simple product that does the job.

if your thinking about getting a cheap camera mount for any type of bike... don't even THINK of getting the other crap! i bought some cheap plasticy one for about the same price. it works... like a peace'o crap. plastic = flex, flex = jello/vibrations. don't get the cheap plastic ones, THIS MOUNT IS SOLID! the only part that was remotely cheap was the gopro adapter which. i wish was a little better but it came with one and works just fine. this is the best value can get! don't waste your money/time on any others!

This thing is seriously very well made. I was very surprised at the heft of this. It seems legitimately machined out of steel. If the manufacturers are listening, one of the improvements I would make is to have the tensioner knobs removable/allen wrench-able. For 99% of applications it makes no difference; however, I use this on the bar end of my motorcycle and it just so happens that when tightened down, the adjuster is horizontal, which interferes when I where winter gloves on the bike.
