A great coverup for ivory to white

Let me start off by saying I didn’t purchase these for child proofing; don’t have children. I’m renovating a home and I’m a sticular for details. Right off I noticed I had ivory plugs and switches throughout the house with white covers. To save myself some money and a lot of time I decided to go with these and couldn’t be happier! Gives my renovation a super clean upgrade and look and hides all the mishaps from the past owners, painters etc.

Great alternative to outlet plugs! Super easy to swap out.

I live in an apartment and the outlets do not have the tamper proof outlet plugs on all of them. I needed a quick and easy way to ensure my 3 year old couldn't access the outlets, I could still use them easily and wouldn't breach anything in my lease contract. I got tired of taking out the child safety caps / plugs you can put an outlet. This is a great alternative. Super easy to install. There are 3 holes in the cover that allow you to choose which screws to put in. This is a nice feature since in my home we have a mix of outlets that have the one screw in the center and the ones that have one on the top / bottom. Just remove your old cover and put this one in it's place. They even send small white plugs for the screw holes you do not use. I replaced 8 in about 30 mins or less.

These are GREAT! wish I had them 6 years ago with first granddaughter. easy to install. looks nice. simple to use - don't have to stop and remove plastic plug to use the vacuum,... with one hand can move the 'door' aside and use the outlet. simple, effective. what more could you ask?? may need to get more. 8 was not enough.

Babys safety first. This will do the job and leave you peace of mind.

Baby proofing the house. I installed my selfe. Quick, easy and safe for the little one. The latch is nice and tight and flips back in place in second. No room for babies to get through these ones. Yet it is easy for adults to plug and unplug. The price is just right. I saw similar things for way more expensive but it does exactly the same thing. There is no need to complicate a simple thing.

Keeping one outlet per room "useable" while baby-proofing

I ordered the six pack with the idea that I might keep one outlet immediately "useable" in each room that I am baby-proofing. The outlets are well made and fit over a standard US outlet perfectly with the included spacer. They have three machined holes for screws. I have never seen a single plug outlet with more than one middle screw to secure it to the wall. The package comes with neat and tidy looking caps to cover any screw holes that you do not need. The outlet faces are held tightly to the left in the "shut" position. They are easily moved to the right with the tines of the plug you are trying to use. One sweeping motion and it's as if there was no safety cover in your way. I would buy more.

Safety without sacrificing function.

I hated removing those plastic plugs from the wall each time I needed to use an outlet. However, it seems like our baby is hellbent on poking his tiny fingers into sockets. This is a great solution! It looks nice, installs easily. And the baby can't hurt himself. It saves my sanity not having to pull out and in those stupid plastic plugs. Just buy it, install it and forget about it.

Easy install

Our house dates to the late 1960s. I decided to do a moderate amount of baby-proofing throughout (i.e. installing those plastic plug blockers) and a more involved amount of baby-proofing in baby's bedroom and the carpeted den (i.e. installing wall plates with sliding pieces that block the outlet, this product). I can't comment as to how well they actually discourage a baby given that mine hasn't quite discovered the wall outlets yet. Pros: I did not need to finagle with/adjust the product to get the plugs to work (I tested all of the outlets). It is easy to access the outlet when you need to plug something in. Install was incredibly easy and intuitive. Appropriate hardware was included (screws of the right length). They do make the receptacles look nicer by blocking outlets that show their age. I actually needed the top and bottom holes rather than the middle hole as that is how our outlets go. Nice that plugs to block the unused middle holes are included. Cons: Upon opening the package there is a faint plastic-y smell (not detectable once plates were installed); not a big deal to me, but if that concerns you, there you go. The screws do appear to be cheap (though no worse than cheap screws bought at big box stores), so go gently with the screwdriver to avoid mangling the head of the screw (this is the sole reason I rated durability at 3 stars). Disclaimer: I paid full asking price for the product, am currently using it, and have made an effort to provide honest feedback. However, I posted this review in exchange for a coupon for a "token of gratitude" (baby safety lock) from the seller.

Skip the plastic plugs and buy these!

I love these outlet covers. They are very attractive and so much better than those plastic plugs that my kids can take out. I never needed very much baby proofing for my oldest child, but our 1 year old is into EVERYTHING. I needed something she couldn't remove and these were perfect. These slide over very easily to plug something in for the parent but still keep little fingers out and prevent them from putting things in the outlet. I'll be ordering more.

Excellent!

Yes these are more expensive than the cheap covers, but these things are SOOOO MUCH BETTER!! I had a friend recommend these to me and she wasn’t lying, these are completely worth the money. Takes just a few minutes to install but super easy to use!! I tried to vacuum this morning using one of the few outlets I chose to cover with the cheap alternative and spent 5 minutes getting the cover off. Then, had to use one of the outlets I put these guys on and it was as if it wasn’t babyproofed one bit!

Great option for baby proofing - no breaking fingers on the plastic inserts

Really happy with these outlet covers as they matched the others in my house and are easy to use daily. The only downside was the screws that came with for installation were too long and didn't fit my outlets in all places, so, I had to go to Home Depot to get a different size. All in all, very good, just, wouldn't hurt to provide a couple more screws of varying lengths to ensure easy install!
