Great gaming system

This was a gift for my kids (who already have a Wii U and an Xbox) and they love this thing. Besides being able to connect it to a television (like most gaming system), this one is also very portable (like a large 3DS), so they really enjoy being able to take it "on the go". I'm not a gamer, so I can't really speak to the graphics or selection of games, but judging by the squeals of joy coming from our game room when the kids are playing, I'm guessing that this is at least on par with (if not better than) their other consoles.

New Nintendo Game Console

This game console was a gift for my grandson at Christmas. He was thrilled with all of the things he can do with it. I would describe it all but being 68 yrs old I am way past video games. All I know is it was built well to withstand a 9yr old boy. he has received hrs. of entertainment from it also he likes to bring it to my house and hook it up to my TV. It connects easily to my HDMI connection and is ready to go. It is no wonder this game was so hard to find at Christmas it is a great product

So glad I pre-ordered this! (Got it one day early!)

I was so excited that I got this bundle one day early! The first time I held the joy cons and the actual Switch was an awesome feeling. Although I had to wait till midnight launch (11pm central time) to download Super Mario Odyssey, it was worth the wait. I already spent a good majority playing the second world by just exploring around the environment. I also downloaded Mario Kart 8 Deluxe before the release of Super Mario Odyssey because I couldn't wait to play. Honestly I'm really glad I had a chance to preorder the system.

Worth every single penny, incredible console with incredible game! Nice, Nintendo!

Fully worth it! So much enjoyment! If you can't get this (Super Mario Odyssey Special Edition) at retail price, I am sorry for your loss... If you pre-ordered and got this at retail though, I'm sure you'll agree with me that this was worth every penny, wasn't it? The Switch is an incredible console system, this coming from a primary PC gamer. The portability and dock-to-screen functionality is well thought out and an excellent way to enjoy Nintendo's intellectual properties, and does them justice. This truly is the best way to enjoy Nintendo games. I skipped all the Wii's. I didn't even own a Gamecube, only a Gameboy Advance (was an Xbox guy). But with the release of this console, I am back on the Nintendo Hype Train. But enough about the Switch. Tons of reviews already out there can tell you it's great. This Super Mario Odyssey bundle is quite nice. Yeah, you don't get a physical copy of the game which sucks. But, you get a Switch that will have Super Mario Odyssey on it at all times no cartridge needed (since it's a download) which does this Special Edition some justice, and actually makes sense to me. If you don't ever uninstall the game, it truly feels like a Special Edition Switch. The red shade of the joy-cons is my favorite part of this bundle. Much better than the neon-red color. This is a darker, more subtle red that I think perfectly represents Nintendo. Really, it's more gorgeous than you think and I'm scrambling to keep them in good condition cause they're so pretty. The special hard case is also super awesome. What it does that other cases don't: the insert on the inside that holds games can be used to fold and prop up the Switch as a stand. Very clever, Nintendo! And lastly, Super Mario Odyssey is an excellent title that fully earns the 10/10 from IGN. Stop reading this review and buy it already.

No regrets!

The color scheme is amazing , Mario Odyssey is fun, case is useful... and the Switch is a great console/handheld hybrid. The fact you can pause a game whenever, put the Switch to sleep, and come back to the exact spot in the game at a later day is an extraordinary quality of life upgrade! Good job Nintendo!

LOVE IT NINTENDO

Absolutely love this. I haven't bought a new videogame system since getting the SNES when it came out. The Switch Mario game is so good, it is the ultimate HD Mario open world sequel to Mario 64 that i always wanted. There is stuff in the game that is also very special for longtime fans and the console is so unique! I am a clumsy person and drop the joycons on a hardwood floor many times and still no damage. The controllers are very resilient and i do not find them awkward in any way (in fact they are free-ing). They are very light and it is interesting to not hold a much heavier single device like the Dualshock or heavier Xbox controllers. I was not sold on the joycon concept when i heard about it but this has been a wonderful experience. It feels like a healthier experience with less impact on my hands! Anyways I also bought Zelda BOTW and Stardew Valley, highly recommend both as well! =) LOVE IT

Fun!

It was easy to set up and use. Everything is responsive. The Switch itself is cute. I would have liked a physical copy of Mario Odyssey instead of a download, but the download did work fine. I liked the carrying case. I think I will be using this console for a while and it seems like a lot of games will come out for it.

Amazing console, great special edition!

Haven't had this much fun with a console in YEARS. Only a year into its release and it has an astounding number of ports and releases that make picking this up one of the easiest decisions ever. This particular version of the switch is the Super Mario Odyssey special edition that comes with a download code for the game (not a card, you have to download it after setting up the switch). There's nothing different about the base station, but it does come with two really cool, bright red joycons and a really nice carrying/travel case. Feels great in the hands and I've been enjoying it both on my TV and handheld, but mostly handheld. It's just so convenient! Excited for whatever releases are coming in the future! Nintendo really hit it out of the park with this one.

A awesome edition!

My son has waited to get the switch cause he wanted this game...so when he saw this he was in love! I was worried when I preordered it that I would still not be able to get it(that has happened before) but it arrived the next day! It said 4-5 day shipping but I was able to change it to free 2 day. It does cost more than buying both separately, but you are buying this edition set so I think it is worth it.

Nintendo does it again! Great Bundle and Accessories!

This bundle is everything it needs to be. I'm reviewing this based on what it actually is, and so many people are not doing so. This is the Super Mario Odyssey Bundle. It includes a switch unit with Red Joycons (no, not neon red, these are a nice bold red, to match Mario!). This package also includes all the other switch accessories (grip, joy-con straps, dock, cables ect), but it also includes an Odyssey Case and a full copy of Odyssey (digital, I'll get to this in a moment). The case itself is very nice, nicer than I had expected it to be. The outside has a map of the different kingdoms, and the inside is black. The inside also has a little flap for a few games and a cable, but don't be expecting to fit everything in here. It's just enough room for a few things to take your switch with you. It was a very nice add on piece which I enjoyed having day 1 to protect my system. Now onto the game. Nintendo includes Super Mario Odyssey in this bundle as a digital download. Inside the box you receive a code to redeem Odyssey on the Eshop. I've been reading the reviews coming in for this bundle and people are downvoting it BECAUSE of the fact that the game is digital and doesnt come preinstalled. From my years of gaming experience, this is the norm for most tie in game/console bundles. For me the 5.2 GB game only took me maybe 30-40 mins to download. Not that big of a deal in my book. This is a great bundle for someone looking to get a case and game and a switch all in one box. Ignore the nintendo fans nitpicking this bundle, because It is a great deal!
