Great for beginning guitar players
I am a big fan of Fender Play. I purchased this to teach myself and my kids how to play guitar. I have zero history with the instrument but have always wanted to learn. So I bought a Yamaha guitar and a few cheap guitars for my kids on Amazon and off we went. The great part is that the lessons are already curated and ordered in a way that makes sense for beginners. I tried other services including Youtube and it's really hit of miss. The quality of instructors on Fender Play I found were also much better than other services. My kids were able to quickly grasp the chords and follow the instructors. It's also helpful when the camera pans into the finger placement where I can pause and then check their progress. I would buy again and look forward to finishing the Acoustic lessons so I can start the Electric guitar lessons. At this price, it's also a good gift. And there aren't many that last all year while teaching a good development skill.

Great guitar manufacturer teaches people how to play guitar!
Well, kudos to a guitar manufacturer that actually wants to help people learn to play the guitar. For a very low one-time price, a person who wants to learn can skip the 25 dollar-per-half-hour in-person lesson cost and learn at their own pace when they want to and have the time. Personally, I played guitar for a number years in my twenties, and I two years ago began playing again and practicing on my own. I've spent many hours binge watching my favorite old shows and movies while doing finger exercises, and I can do anything I've seen in any of the videos that are part of this plan. But still, I was fascinated by this approach to getting a beginner a "foot hold" through on line education. This approach lets a student choose a "path" (a sequence of videos that builds toward a goal) or just randomly watch videos in a certain area, like theory, exercises, etc. There really is a wealth of knowledge for a beginning guitar student, and the videos are of a consistent professional quality. So, even though I've mastered most everything I've seen after a number of hours watching these videos, I'm going to get through as many as I can before my six months are up. I'm sure I'll learn something somewhere. Also, since I have not been up on pop music continually for the past 40 years, I'm discovering some modern pop music classics that I may never have known about any other way. Finally, my only criticism is that there should be a video on pain management. Seriously. Getting started on guitar hurts. You have to build your callouses on your fingers. Without callouses, you bend a string, and the string goes nowhere but sinks into your finger tip and it hurts. I wish a video addressed this issue and told beginner up front that there is a "no pain, no gain" aspect of learning guitar. But this is seriously a cost effective way to build a body of knowledge on-demand and to get a foothold in guitar playing.

My son loves to learn on this site. There's ...
My son loves to learn on this site. There's been some confusion because I activated it Dec 29,2017 then he got an email about a free month and he clicked on it thinking it was the prepaid card and now can't access the prepaid card. We did call the company but I guess we have to wait and see what happens after the free month.

For the beginner/intermediate player, this is essential and fun
Very well organized lessons for those beginning and those just wanting to learn new songs. The content is organized by songs, skills, and personal paths. There are a lot of great songs to choose from, but the genres of songs are not that diverse. Everything is geared toward a rock base. There are blues, but I would have liked more Jazz and theory about Jazz, or Latin music. When you browse the skills, you get basic, chords, exercises, technique, theory, and tone. These lessons are also for a beginner and beginner/intermediate level. I like the way the lessons are structured. They give you all the chords upfront in view so you can follow along with the tutorial. The tutorials are clear and often pretty short, so there's no waiting 20 min. For someone to get to the point. I love Fender, especially if you are a beginner. It is my guitar of choice for beginners, and Fender Play is a great place to start. For anyone more advanced, the lessons are not going to be interesting. I am more of an intermediate player and the theory, basic, and chord lessons were too easy. However, I loved the songs and the break down of those. I can recommend this completely, especially to the beginner. It is well organized and fun. You will learn much great stuff.
