Purchased for budgies, so much better!
This is the smaller version I first purchased- I later ended up buying the larger version, too. Both work exactly like described- and they saves SO MUCH TIME sweeping around the cages. There are no longer seed shells everywhere! It's like a miracle! And let me tell you how much less seed I've had to buy! I used to waste so much seed when changing dishes- it's hard to separate out what they have shelled and what they haven't- but with this, I don't need to! It does it for me! I can see how much they've eaten, which seeds they don't like, and just top off the container. I was skeptical of the price on both the small size and the large size (large size is under a different listing and is $15ish dollars)- but I am no longer. It's worth it in just how much seed that no longer gets wasted. I love both of them and just ordered another big one- I plan on buying more big ones and removing ALL the stupid seed cups.

AN HONEST REVIEW
Great feeder but is very small Suitable for budgies but don't see this being the right size for a parrot. I like the concept of the empty shells/seeds falling into the tray. I just wish the tray could be removed from the front. Because I had to mount my feeder inside the cage, I have to remove the whole feeder often to empty the tray.

Two thumbs up
I was skeptical about this feeder, but I was at wits end with all the seed on the fllor of my birds cage so I decided to give it a try. After one week there is a incredible difference of waste on the floor. I also can judge by the cup at the bottom that catches the empty seed pods. I love this feeder, only thing I wished I noticed was there is no screw to hold it to the cage. My little love bird thinks it's fun to try and flip the food holder off onto the floor. I tied a small peice of twine around it and so far so good. Great product

Works great!
My bird’s old feeder was a constant mess. They dumped way more seeds than they ate trying to dig past the husks. This bird feeder is perfect for parakeets. There’s ample storage for about two weeks of food. They can sit on the perch and always have access to fresh seeds. The husks drop to the bottom of the cage.

No more wasted seed!
No more wasted seed! It's easy to move, fill, and clean. The birds adjusted to it almost immediately. My two parakeets we're dropping the hulls back into their food cups, making it impossible to tell how much they had left. With this feeder, I can see how much they're eating, both in how much the food level changes and from the hulls in the bottom tray. The amount of seed we're going through has dropped dramatically. Highly recommend!

Worked Well for Parakeet
Bought this for using while I was on vacation for a week. I was hesitant at first, as have tried two other feeders with a different design. For those, the seed didn't fall down after the original portion was eaten; neither worked and my bird would have died. I tested this one out for a few days first, while I was still at home, to make sure it worked. At first, my bird wouldn't go near it. I had to coax him into it with some millet, to get him started, but once he did, he knew where to go. I came back from my international trip, happy to see that my little guy had made it just fine. It's a great feeder, good design, and would last well over one week. Probably 3 weeks.

Holds a lot of seeds.
This is a very nice feeder. It is so easy to fill and hang inside the cage. It can be used in a door as well. We did modify the feeding area as it was quite difficult for my finches to figure out how to get seeds out with the opening that let's seeds out is very small. We ground the barrier down so more seeds could pass and now my parakeets and finches are just loving it. I would purchase another. No wasted seeds ND being able to see how many are there is just great.

Best bird feeder ever
I love this feeder. I used to have to check my parakeets food dish twice a week, blow off the husks and refill. This does all the work, I just fill it up and it lasts a long time. The husks fall to the bottom removable tray.

Great bird feeder! Eliminates the messy seeds on my floor!
Awesome little bird feeder! My husband breeds Canary’s and they make a mess with the seeds! We were in search for something that would keep the seeds inside, this is it! The birds eat and the seeds stay in there and eliminates the mess on my floor. The plastic made thick and well. Everything snaps in perfect! A great buy, great price, and I will be ordering more!

great design. I added a little perch next to ...
This works exactly as it should. No mess, seriously, great design. I added a little perch next to the feeder since there is little space for the birds to grip the edge. I then put a little cuttlebone next to the feeder and its encouraged their chewing of the cuttlebone. awesome
