I have a lot of art in my house but none of it makes me laugh Billy Bass does! It’s “ketchy” it’s plastic, but that’s what makes it fun And it’s responsive...in a hesterical way

My husband sent me a video of someone around the start of 2018 who changed his Billy Bass to work with Alexa. He told me jokingly that this is all he wanted for Christmas. Just my luck they started selling them the start of December and I pre-ordered right away. He did not expect this at all and it turned out to be a great gift. Works just as shown. Takes batteries as well if you didn’t want to plug it in so you can hang it.

forget the poor ratings, I don't know what people expect. It's a good product, but peoples expectations seem to be really unreasonable. First of all, it's not expensive, keep that in mind. I put my echo behind billy bass so it sounds like its coming from the same place. Billy Bass's mouth moves when echo is talking, but NOT when music is playing, but come on what do you expect, the music is it's own type of file, do you really thing you can get a product that syncs to a .wav file for $35? He does however move when echo is talking and when music is playing. I thinks it's a great product for the price.

I don't understand all the negative reviews here, we've been laughing at this thing all night. Setup was super easy and as follows : 1. Open your alexa app and select the device you want to pair bmbb to 2. Hold the red button down, bmbb responds he's ready to pair 3. Select bmbb in the alexa app, that's it It operates mostly as described. Unlike other reviews I was pleased it plays sound from the echo rather than the internal speaker as I imagine it couldn't compare in quality. I also bought one of the hanging wall outlets ahead of time and mounted it just under the fish. Edit : added photos of decorating it for Christmas.

Works perfectly. I found that if the Billy Bass and my iPad are both paired to my Echo Dot, the Dot will lose its internet connection. But that would seem to be a Dot issue. I unpaired my iPad and the Billy Bass has worked 100% flawlessly for a week. No disconnects, always responds. Hold the button to put it in pairing mode, then follow the app instructions on the box. I swapped in a white cable so it looks better on my wall.

I was going to take an old Big mouth Billy Bass and hook it up to a raspberry to do basically what this guy does. But for the price they're selling this for it's just a no-brainer. I only wish that the fish not only lip-synced but actually had a speaker built in that the sound would come out of using the Bluetooth mode. In essence the mouth moves like it is lipsinking. At first I was a little disappointed by that but it's so fun

I bought the Big Mouth Billy Bass to make our family laugh a little more during the holidays as the original always did that. The interaction with Alexa is so much fun. My kids love watching Billy speak when Alexa does. There are some reviews that are disappointed that the sound comes out of the Echo instead of Billy but this was likely done because of the better Echo speaker. This is a fun item to have for the kids to interact with Alexa and i'm sure our guests will be doing the same thing.

It is true, no sound from the fiish, the sync is not too great. And it is a corn ball goofy thing. It is exactly what I expected so I thought it was great. It is a fake fish that hangs on the wall and wiggles and moves its mouth. It makes me laugh. We put people on the moon and a fake fish that flaps its mouth when I get the weather. It really is a wonderful life.

I was nearly scared off of ordering this because of the bad reviews. However, as I went through them I realized that many of the low ratings were unjustified because either there was user error or expectations were such that people thought it would do things that it simply does not do - but never did the seller claim these attributes. It seems many just assumed it was able to perform certain tasks because they did not carefully read the listing before purchasing. I did not get it working in the first 2 minutes either, but I decided to start over and just slowly follow each step in the instructions. Taking the extra time had me a fully functioning, hilarious Alexa Bass. I decided not to post a review until a full week went by because I wanted to make sure it stayed paired and kept working perfectly. It has indeed stayed paired and functions exactly as the item was described. I promise you that if you take your time in setting it up and don't expect skills that were never claimed to begin with, you will have a perfectly working BMBB that will be the Ying to Alexa's very boring Yang. The bastard child that Alexa and Billy spawn will put an entirely new - and welcome - spin on the monotone AI assistant field. I guarantee that Siri will never entertain you like this!
