Easy Peasy
I knew what I wanted to do in our front and back yards and grew tired of waiting for the landscape designer to come for a consult. I bought this on a whim, hoping I would be able to do what was needed to satisfy our HOA. Even for this old woman who is not tech saavy, it was easy to learn the program. Kinda like an iPhone, you just have to play with it to catch on. It even lists the number of plants of each variety, shows measurements as you draw, allows plants to be resized and colors to be changed, and you can label the plants and structures. You can build fences and retaining walls, add play structures, patio furniture and other common objects. And it is FUN.

Simple to use, after a little learning.
Not bad software wanted something s little more formal than just hand done drawings for customers and I have been really pleased with it so far. Some of the presets and colors can be a little off from time to time, but it didn't take me forever to learn and I knocked out a few designs in my first day.

Over all a good program for the money.
The program is a 10 dollar program, keep that in mind. You get what you pay for. Which was ok with me because I just need to get square footage for ideal design. I am really pleased with software, lots of structures and images. Over all a good program for the money.

So easy to use!!
I saw the reviews about wrong downloads but for $10 I thought try it anyway. No problem on my PC. Probably not for the professional but for somebody just looking for ideas on what my yard could be it's great.

It's more than just a garden planner!
I purchased this program several years ago for a bit more than the current price. It was worth every penny. Yes, you can plan out a garden, but...if you want to plan a kitchen or bathroom design/remodel; if you want to redesign your entire house and landscape; if you want to design a new house and landscape; if you want to rearrange the furniture in your room to see it if will work before you start doing heavy lifting, this is an easy program that anyone can learn to use. It is user-friendly...more so than other programs on the market for about the same price, but you do have to play around to experiment with all the features. I think that's the fun part though! They also offered an update @ a year or so ago that incorporated 3D capabilities.

Even better in 3D
I used Garden Planner to lay out my formal garden to scale and to keep track of all my Australian native plants in the more informal 'bush garden' section. It took a bit of practice and trial and error, but I love using it now I've got the hang of it. It's very flexible and precise: you can triangulate positions, stipulate the spread of trees and bushes and vary the flower colours using the palette. You can also add height, which is vital now the 3D version is in beta. That's given a whole new perspective (obviously) when picturing your design. The sample plant icons are mainly European/North American, which required some fudging when it came to them impersonating Australian plants, but I can live with that until some eucalyptus trees come along! I can thoroughly recommend it, especially with the free 3D upgrade.
