Just recieved today. Took 5 minutes to install !!! I am SOOO Happy! I have an almost 7000 sq. ft. house. I now get 4 - 5 bars everywhere. I was getting only 1 at the furthest bedroom. Now it bounces between 4 and 5 bars! My speed is incredible. I tried a Netgear version and No Dice. Returned immediately. I was so hesitant about buying this! But what a piece of equipment! I had ran ethernet to my basement off my Lynksis AC1200 Main Unit (same name as this amplifyer) to an old Netgear g/n router and that was covering most of my house. But there was no way to run it up to my second level, well personally anyway. This little baby did the trick! And the best part being on my second level I can work outside with Pandora just a Rockin' in my ears on my phone! Guys I got maybe 5 meg down with video skipping and not even 1 meg up, upstairs. Now I get 28+ meg down and almost 8 up, upstairs! No more skipping and my PS4 rocks the games now! Don't hesitate! And dont buy a cheapy. Tried it. Like I said, No Dice. I will repost in a month or so and let you know if I encountered any problems. I'm piggy backing off a Lynksis AC 1200 Dual Band unit. As many of you know the 2.4ghz signal gets out far. But the 5 ghz band with tge faster speed usually has half the bars of the 2.4 ghz. Not any more! I have been battleing this 5 years! And it appears I might have finally won. Shew! Thank you Linksys! And Thank You Amazon! Took a week and a half to get. But worth the wait and every penny. If this review was helpful, please hit the button. If you have any questions, leave a comment and I'll get back to you. Even if i dont know I'll jump on it! Love to learn new things. Hopefully we can help each other. Mark.

I recently bought linksys max stream ac3000-re9000 wifi extender to extend my wireless network with my linksys ac4000 max stream router. Router is in the garage below house by a window and the extender is located approx 75 feet across driveway in anouther building (Steel) by a window. After set up (wireless), We have a great signal ,speed and large area of coverage inside and out. this product is 5 stars. I have read many reviews with pros and cons with this product. Extender does exactly what linksys said it does. It will also change automatically from router to extender or vise versa when it looses signal. You need to make sure it is set up correctly. I feel it works best with linksys smart max stream routers. You can call tech support to help with final set up to get the most out of this product. Customer support 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

I've tried routers and wireless extenders from other companies but I always come back to Linksys. Not only for their superior products but their customer service goes above and beyond. No matter what kind of problem you may encounter, their customer service people will take as long as it takes to fix the issue. The AC1900 Gigabit Range Extender does an amazing job now that our wireless is up to 1Gbps, and it truly helps you get the most out of that. This works perfectly in a house that is 2,700 square feet with two floors. I placed the range extender just at the top of the stairs and we're getting wireless averaging about 600Mbps upstairs (the modem is downstairs). Our upstairs office is at the other end of our top floor and when I saw that the speeds were hitting 500-600Mbps, I was really impressed. Without the range extender they were just hitting 250Mbps so this purchase was very worth it. We use it with Linksys AC5400 wireless router and it's the perfect pairing. For those that have an older desktop with a wireless card of only 10/100, I would suggest the Linksys Max Stream AC1200 as that will get your speeds up to 700Mbps is you have 1Gmps service.Linksys AC1900 Gigabit Range Extender / WiFi Booster / Repeater MU-MIMO (Max Stream RE7000)

Ok first of all. Forget all of the negative reviews just for poor setup instructions. Setting up a wireless extender is as easy as pushing the WPS button on your router and then the extender. Wait about 2 minutes for the light on the extender to turn green then go to the website in the instructions to customize it. It’s that simple. Throw the instructions away. I don’t know who wrote them but they’re terrible. Now for the extender itself. I have an ASUS AC1750 router we got in 2016 and is still really good by today’s standards but we recently put it in a cubby behind the tv to make it look all pretty and hide the tv boxes, router, modem and wireless tv broadcaster. Unfortunately now that the router is in the cubby, the signal is pretty bad as it’s one one end of the house. We put the extender in the middle of the house on the middle floor. Wow is this thing great. I am registering over 100 mbps on 5g consistently in the BASEMENT. That’s amazing. Compared to my previous netgear extender which had plenty of dead/really slow spots, I have yet to find one. I also really like the MIMO feature which basically enables this thing to give a fast lane to three devices. Don’t get me wrong that’s an awesome feature and more and more routers and extenders will have it in the future but when 7 devices are hooked up to this thing, it’s still extremely fast. I will update with speed tests in the near future.

I am not a tech person and I had this operational in under 10 minutes. Instructions were easy to follow. My signal strength issue has been resolved. The only downside is that it has its own name & password... so you have to link all your devices to it and connect to it/ select the wifi network as needed. I did not take a star away for this bc I am not sure if this is typical of these extenders or not.

I’ve been using this extender for about two weeks, and so far I am very happy with it. I’m getting 4-5x faster speeds in my office than with a router, alone. It’s important that you make sure you have a compatible router, but if this extender is able to take advantage of seamless roaming technology, this is the way to go! My wife and I have a one story, 2000 square foot home, and our wireless router is in the front room. Wi-Fi speed in the front room and surrounding bedrooms is anywhere from 50-100mbps, depending on the time of day, but our home office, which is in the far corner of the house usually can’t exceed 10mbps, and generally averages even lower. The speed was fine for most day to day use, but we would have to move our laptops to another room for acceptable download speeds. I bought an extender from another company, thinking that the different SSID wouldn’t be an issue, but having to choose different networks depending on where you are in the house is not ideal, especially with phones and tablets. The coolest feature of this extender is the seamless roaming capability. This has been around for businesses for many years, but I’m happy to see the technology coming to households. Seamless roaming allows your router to switch Wi-Fi devices between the access point with the strongest signal. This is a useful feature if you end up moving around the house a lot, because you don’t have to worry about which Wi-Fi network you are connected to. The negative aspect of most range extenders is they force you to specifically connect to the extender’s SSID when you need a signal boost. I was on the verge of buying a mesh network system (google Wi-Fi, Linksys velop, etc), but seeing as we have just bought a high end router earlier in the year, it felt like a waste. I was skeptical of how well this extender would work, but not only can I move from room to room with my tablet and laptop, but my speeds are also better than i had anticipated. I can access a full strength signal on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. If i was buying a new Wi-Fi solution today, it would be tough to overlook the benefits of a mesh network solution, but if you already have a good router and only need to get a stronger signal to a problem area, and you can take advantage of the seamless roaming this extender offers, this is the way to go!

Using this extender for wifi in my shop. Located 120 ft from my Blue Cave router (through 3 walls) and still provides a solid signal in the shop to run a android tv box, security camera, and other devices when called upon. Having a metal building I found the only way to get a good wifi signal was to attach it to a window with double stick tape. Using speednet.net I get 20 to 40 mbp on the wifi and 60 to 80 mbp using an ethernet connection to the Android TV box. If you can follow instructions the setup was pretty much straight forward. I had the advantage of using other Linksys extenders before. I'm not a geek or IT person but I can negotiate around most software. I found youtube a great source of information to solve most of my computer/wifi devices issues.

Received the Linksys AC 1900 Range Extender yesterday after my previous extender (different company) failed after a few years use. I expected about the same range and speed. The Linksys setup was a breeze. I have a moderate understanding of computers and internet use but I could have had zero experience and still had an easy time with the setup. I'm lucky that my ISP supped router had a WPS button. Simply pressing the WPS button on the router and then the extender quickly established the connection. Doing it twice connected both the 2.4 and 5.0 GHZ connections. After setup I moved it to the other end of my 1400 Sq Ft home so that I could get as good a signal to my exterior mounted WiFi cameras. After a couple of attempts they both connected and maintained connection for at least the two days I've had the Linksys. The biggest surprise is the additional speed I now get when connected to the extender versus the router. I have a desktop and a laptop and both have added internet speed. The download jumped from around 80 mps to 200 mps when connected to the xxxxExt connection using 5.0 GHZ. I hoped for a stronger connection to keep my cameras and other devices connected but am really impressed with the speed. I have not had any experience with tech support since the setup was smooth and easy.

We had a dead spot or two in the back of our house that I wanted to fill in. This was a particularly hard product to find, because if you search for "Access Point," you find professional devices intended to be ceiling mounted and so on. My big worry was that this was going to just be a wireless range extender, which I did not want because Ethernet network connectivity was available where we wanted to install this. Sure enough, when I researched this device, I found that it does have a "wired range extender" mode - which is the same as what traditionally has been called an access point. The configuration UI is easy to pull up in a browser, as it makes its name known via Bonjour. Getting into that UI is easy over the wired interface (and presumably over WiFi as well if you select their setup network), and that UI is easy to figure out and use, while still having all the options you might want to customize. Since I'm using wired extension, I can't really evaluate how well it works as a wireless extender. In short, I am pretty darned happy with this unit.

If you live in an area where the wifi coverage is horrible, I truly recommend giving this extender a try. I got the LInksys AC3000 (RE9000). This extender by far beats the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 by a mile! The simple and easy instruction. It is pretty much plug and play for this extender. I was getting "full bar" at every angle of the house, now that is powerful! Hopefully, it will last. The NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 stop working for me in 8 months! I will do another review after 8 months on this extender, stay tune.
