My computer stopped recognizing the SD card from my camera after one of those lovely Windows 10 updates. This card reader was the next best thing. It does exactly what I needed- allows me to read my camera's SD card via a USB slot. It has worked flawlessly.

I have a SanDisk USB card reader that's at least 17 years old, and the later high-speed memory cards are too much for it. They are unrecognized in Windows 10. Windows 10 has no problem with this UGREEN SD card reader and faster cards. I ran a read/write test using a Micro SD HC-1 16GB card using 10 video files totaling 5GB. Write speed was ~70 MBs and read speed was ~92 MBs. I primarily use SD cards for camera, phone, dash cam, not for data storage. The UGREEN SD card reader fits my needs quite well.

I need the card to retrieve pictures from my husbands out door hunting camera. The camera also did show us the animal that was destroying our family garden. My computer is an older one and does not have a card reader built in, the card reader I bought was affordably the best answer for us, it came in a timely manner and even I had no trouble installing it. Thanks for asking and thanks for a product that fills a need.

This is a simple USB micro SD card reader. My new gaming computer did not come with a CD-ROM drive or a card reader so I needed something to read cards from my phones or my car dash cam. This works great with my Windows 10 PC. I am able to place my dash cam SD card in this adapter and review or save video. No drivers were needed.

I have a dash cam with a 32GB MicroSD card that I need offload every week or so. I was using the basic USB 2.0 adapter that came with it and it was painfully slow to download 32GB of video. At USB 2.0 speed I was seeing anywhere from 19MB/s to 29MB/s which could take upwards of 10 minutes to transfer. Just used this new adapter for the first time today and wow what an improvement. 70MB/s on average which cut the time by more than half! Basically 10 minute wait time turned into 2! I don't like driving with my camera out of commission so this is a great help after jumping in the car, camera full and I don't have to wait long to free up the card again. Buy It!

It does a good job of transfer from sd to sd. I needed it to dup my sd.

This worked great. I used it to update the micro SD card in my car's navigation unit. It did the download and update in about 2 hours. Tip: insert the micro SD card into the unit printed side down, it won't fit otherwise.

Using for Samsung SmartTV, videos on a direct inserted Samsung 64GB microSD, and a Samsung 32gb MicroSD w/ SD adapter. Although on TV, need to switch USB Sources for each card, both have videos that 9/10 work. The small portions that were very High Quality over 10GB skipped like a scratched Laser Disc just needed to be recopied from PC. If it works for HD videos on another device, works also well for basic storage at USB 3.0 speed. Be aware, provide it with a USB slot that points the standard SD card outwards w/o blocking other slots.

Needed a fast micro SD card reader and this fit the bill. I get about 42-44MB/sec transfer rate when using a USB 3.0 port on my computer. Very compact, no issues with drivers or anything in Windows 10. Would definitely buy again, very good value.

I bought this to replace another brand’s SD-card-only reader which I’d been using for quite a few years that somehow got damaged so it doesn’t work any more—who knew a passive reader could go bad? I find using a card reader is more efficient for transferring gigabytes of photos from my camera to my PC than connecting the camera itself to my PC. I like that this reader also accepts TF cards which is only what my tablet uses. Now I have a simple alternative for transferring files between my tablet and my PC. Cards can be inserted into their slots on the side of the reader only one way. Very tiny icons show which direction the card’s notch goes (left for SD, right for TF when the reader’s UGreen logo is up), but I’ve quickly learned the proper orientation so I don’t have to squint any more. The marketing description for the reader touts the protective cover for the USB prong yet the card slots remain open to dust/dirt. Maybe that’s not a problem. I’m skeptical, however, but luckily I only use the reader occasionally at home to download photos off my camera and the packaging for the reader is reusable so I can store the reader back in the protective packaging until I need it again. The packaging takes up little extra space—just adds a flat piece of cardboard—and actually makes it easier to keep track of the reader.
