So I found an old mower someone threw out and figured I’d try my hand at bringing it back to life. I was pretty naive to think some fresh oil and a spark plug would be it. Anyways, well past that point I realize that I need to remove a flywheel and the internet has all sorts of advice on methods. I finally settled on this device and I’m very glad I did. This thing popped it off with a big bang but all was well. This seems way more efficient that using a tap and die and a different tool. I’m very happy with the quality of this puller and hope I can get some more use out of it in the future.

Tool works perfectly. Some have complained about the loose bolts and needing jam nuts. The whole purpose of this tool is to be adjustable. I have used pullers like this for about 15 years and never had a problem with a bolt coming out or falling off during use. Finger tight is plenty. This is a tool that it is assumed you know how to use it when you order it because its not a simple screw driver any simpleton can purchase and use. Don't bash the tool because you don't understand how to use it or what its for. And to all the cheaply made comments out there, this tool is made with at least as good a quality as any other gear puller I have ever used and I am yet to see one break. It wont fit every application you may ever have but I can guarantee it will fit at least 90 percent of them and that's pretty good when 50 bucks allows you to do most things and will last even a professional daily user a lifetime.

It worked perfectly! I had to switch the arms to the short position to work on the particular gear I needed to remove (on my 110 year old Edision Gem cylinder phonograph motor). The switching of the arms was simple. The puller worked like a champ! Very pleased.

This is as described. Can be used on so many applications. MUCH better that Briggs N Stratton's b.s flywheel puller that you need to drill and tap their flywheels for as they stopped doing it in the factory. This is universal. No need to modify flywheel. Can be used on many different types and brands of equipment.

Great puller for a decent price. I purchased this smaller puller for removing the crank arms on bikes and it works good. The puller arms have hooks that are not too thick and they can be turned around for a shorter distance in relation to the screw bolt point. The improvement I will make is to install self locking nuts on all the bolts. The nuts should be tightened only enough to allow free movement of the arms but the nuts tend to become too loose very easily while using the tool. I will be investing in the larger size pullers without hesitation from this manufacturer.

Great set for the price! I used the middle size to change the front hub assembly’s on my 08 Altima last weekend. Worked great!!! Update: a week later I’m changing cv shafts on both sides & this Puller set worked like a champ again. The tools are well made of hefty material. I have used the outside griping part (grapple I believe) and it’s stout! I have not just used the outward facing top hooks yet. As I have not needed that function yet. All in all I say it’s a great buy & a must-have for anyone who works on your own vehicle.

I bought this set to remove a jaw coupler frozen to the drive shaft of an engine for a log splitter. After 10 years of use and some rust build up on the drive shaft the coupler would not budge a mm even after heating the piece and striking it from the backside with a hammer. I bought the set not knowing what size was going to be the correct size (turned out to be the 4") to do the job. It pulled the stuck part with little effort and no damage to either the tool or the drive shaft. This is a heavy duty, inexpensive tool which should satisfy the needs of most DIY'ers. I recommend the purchase of these gear pullers.

It's a pulley puller! It makes life easy when you need to pull a pulley! It did the job I needed, removed the pulley from the motor shaft on my cement mixer. No bells or whistles, just gets the job done. Go buy a bell or a whistle if to go with it if you really need them.

Needed a puller to pull the gear off of a pump. I didnt know what size I would need so I bought this set. It worked great first time out of the box. I will say the nuts and bolts were really loose but since it is a set that is somewhat adjustable the nuts being able to be swapped by hand not using a wrench is ok. I did add some locktite to the nuts so they would fall off when being moved around. I did get a small tool bag just for them as they are a specialty tool and should be kept separate until needed since most people wont be pulling gears or pulleys everyday. I do wish the end or the arms were a bit more tapered to fit in tighter areas but it still worked.

Looks like a great gear puller, especially for the very economical price. I haven't actually used it yet as I was able to remove the bearing that I bought it to remove without the use of the tool. Still, I am glad to have it in my collection of tools. I'm sure I'll have a use for it sometime. It looks to be sturdy enough for all but the most heavy duty of jobs and can handle gears, pulleys, bearings, etc. up to 4 inches and then some. It also has reversible jaws for smaller stuff and you could also turn the jaws around to grip on the inside if you have to remove some kind of ring or bearing race, so very versatile.
