Pretty easy to install
This was for an iPhone 8. I got my phone less than a year ago and I noticed over the weekend that I had a crack on the lens. I’m not sure how long I had the crack or how I got it. The reason I even noticed it was my pictures started having a light flare for no reason. When I looked at the lens… I noticed the crack. I tried to search for how much it cost for apple to fix this. I couldn’t figure it out. I asked a friend who has some knowledge about it and he said that apple doesn’t fix that, they would junk your phone and you would have to pay 99 dollars (if you have apple care – which I don’t) or 299 dollars (if you don’t) since my phone is less than a year old. That’s if they decide to cover it but it could also be deemed my fault and they won’t. So I might have buy a new phone for whatever the price is … anyways it looked like I was out at least 300 dollars. I read I could go to a mall kiosks that does phone fixes. It looked like it was around 40 dollars to go that route but I read horror stories of them accidently resetting your phone. Which I guess isn’t the end of the world but I decided to back up my phone in case. Then I saw a youtube video that said how easy this was to do yourself and how you can just buy kits online, ebay or amazon for a few bucks. Okay let’s try that. I bought this kit and it came 2 days later. Let me tell you, I’m not good with this type of thing. I am smart and detailed so when I told my friends I was going to attempt this everyone felt I could do it. I didn’t feel at all confident. I have shaky hands and never built models growing up. Not that it matters but I should probably clarify that I’m female. The hardest part was getting the glass off. This is how I was able to do it. I heated it with a blow dryer a few times. I tapped at a spot where my crack was with the knife. I kept tapping the glass at the crack nearest to the edge of the ring till it created a small hole and I tried to make the hole bit enough for my knife to get leverage to pry some of the glass off. This worked but I had small shards of glass from the hole I made and some of it got on my camera. Then I used the tweezers it came with to pick off the rest of the glass. Try to work from the middle out, the hardest part is getting the glass to come off the edge where it is glued to the case. After I got all the glass off and checked the camera it was fine. But I saw some small shards of glass on the camera itself and I took the cloth that the kit came with to try to gently get it off… that didn’t work… also it messed with my camera a bit and made the pictures fuzzy. I was like hm… okay. That kind of freaked me out but then I thought I got it to finally focus again. I followed the directions and put the adhesive ring on the new glass and put on my camera. It fit perfectly! When I turned on my camera it was super fuzzy!! Probably because I messed with the camera to get the glass off before I closed it up. I was really upset with myself. I was like oh no all this work and I still have to fork out 300+ dollars to get a new phone. Then I thought… maybe when was wiping it I nudged the camera out of place somehow … maybe if tap my phone on something hard it would nudge the camera back in place. So I tapped the edge of my phone closest to my camera against the table I was working on a few times. BAM my camera is super clear again! What a relieve! This is the whole reason I’m writing this review in case this happens to someone else. Anyways, easy to install. Don’t mess with the camera too much before closing it up. Just blow on it to try to get rid of access dust and glass that might have fallen in when you were trying to take the glass off… be gentle if you use a cloth (which I was … which is why I think the tapping worked to fix it). I’m very happy with this. Saved me 300 dollars! Good luck everyone! Update: I installed this 10/2019 and now it is 9/2020, almost a year later. My camera is doing great. The lens has stayed secure, I was worried it would fall or crack but it is perfect. Very happy with this solution.

A Seriously un-tech-saavy Chickie Can Do This!
Okay, so I bought this kit hoping my husband would fix my camera glass on my iPhone 7. I had been taking light filtering pics for over a year. Finally, when we started thinking about trading the phone in, we decided to try and fix it. After watching some crazy YouTube videos and feeling rather unconfident for the task ahead, we plunged in. Since he felt like he couldn’t see well enough to do an ant’s job, I stepped up! And to my surprise, it was not difficult at all. The kit supplied everything we needed, minus the blow dryer. Woo hoo!! The tools supplied definitely did the job! Don’t be fooled by crazy YouTube videos that tell you to buy silicone and a little lens. Nooo!!! That would have ended in a mess! This kit came with a small adhesive ring you gently attach around the black ring of the glass and bingo! You remove the tape off the adhesive ring and snap the glass in place and you have a working camera again! I highly recommend!! Just follow the instructions carefully and you will be snapping clear, beautiful pics in no time!!

A great Fix! Cant beat the price.
Got this. Took 10 mins to install. This is under 10 bucks. Apple fix was going to be more than 10X. What a great solution. Be careful to make cure you dont get glass into the camera focusing part. I turned the phone on its side to pick out the chunks. Get a good light. Also make sure you clean off all the old adhesive off. Clean the inside of the glass and dont use your fingers to pick up the new glass. Use the tweezers to avoid finger prints. Thanks for a great product and a easy fix. Love it!

Exactly What You Need
This is exactly what you need in a glass replacement. It’s a cheap and easy alternative to getting your phone professionally repaired. Only took me about 10 minutes and my camera looked like new.

Quick fix, inexpensive. This is protective glass cover.
Quick, did NOT have to remove the back of my iphone 8. Only been 1 day so can't say if it will remain on long term. But it was an inexpensive way to let me start using my camera again. My photos are clear so I'd say it's a success! They mention the oem is brown on one side so i assumed that was the front side. As you can tell in pictures the brown side up. I wish they would of specified what side was to be placed down on the camera. But it doesn't seem to effect photos. I'm pleased with product and great tools! Only problem i had was the first adhesive ring did not come off the packaging. But they give you an extra one.

Perfect replacement + great tools
This was pretty easy to install and has worked great ever since. The key is to not touch the inside of the glass! Otherwise your photos will always be blurry. Make sure it’s pristine when you stick on. The tools that come along with it are nice quality - your pay more for just those purchased separately.

Quick to Install and Looks Great!!
The kit came as advertised with a craft knife and some precision tweezers. My kit came with 2 replacement lenses and 4 adhesive strips. The tweezers made it easy to pry off the old broken glass and the knife helped with removing the old adhesive. Success for this type of repair requires you to be thorough but gentle since you want to get ALL of the old glass off and nearly all of the old adhesive off without slipping up and scratching the inner camera lens. My pictures look good as new and it took all of 15 minutes!

Better than original
Purchased to replace the garbage iPhone camera lens that broke going through a tsa check. Easy install and it appears that this aftermarket lens has better picture clarity than the original!

Good and great Value
This was a good product, just make sure to follow the directions of applying the tape to the glass first.

Very great product
Real good product using it for 1 year. Make sure you clean the old glue before installing this. But easy to fix watch few youtube videos I went to the store for fixing the lens and they asked me for $120
