I have an iPad 9.7” 2018 and an iPhone 6s. The included instructions are vague and very tiny print. There are several YouTube videos which show how to get it working. After viewing a few videos, the camera was working within a few minutes. The first thing to do is disable cellular. You might not need to do this but one of the videos recommended that. Then turn the camera on. Next, go to your WiFi settings on the mobile device and you should see the camera as a selection. Pick that and use the password12345678. Now open the app and you should see the image from the camera. I was fumbling around setting the SSID and WiFi password which was not necessary. The image is very clear. The video is much better than the AC Delco camera we use at work

Received this endoscope promptly, charged it overnight, and used it the next day. Had no trouble connecting to the WiFi with my Android phone, opened the Depstech app on my phone (previously downloaded), and immediately had a clear color picture. The clear picture and long viewing distance made this relatively easy to use (getting the flexible cable perfectly straight enough for my application was the hardest part). I used the scope to explore behind boxes and cabinets along the baseboard in my garages to look for evidence of termite tunnels - it worked great for that application. (On a fun note, watching the scenes unfold I felt like an archeologist exploring secret passages in an old tomb.) I am happy with this purchase, and am sure that I will find other neat uses for this handy tool.

I was skeptical as there are so many of these and so many "worked once" stores, but so far so good. I will update if it changed, but it worked out of the box, and worked pretty well. First, the application is not obvious - there appear to be many that work, but the manufacturer names are all over the place. I ended up using Depstech-Wifi but its manufacturer is not Depstech. Anyway, it worked. Connection is easy, it's just an ad-hoc access point. The view is pretty good, not great, but considering the circumstance quite respectable. I am attaching six photos as demonstration. Four are of the inside of a portable air tank that is pretty old, and I was concerned how rusted it may be inside. Two are the bottom, a drain attachment and a weld for a foot, one is looking down over about a foot over the side, and the other is with the camera bent up in a "U" to look at the top seam. None are totally sharp, but all are quite usable in terms of seeing how corroded. Two other samples are a look up between a door jam, and a third is a look down in a garbage disposal with some lemon still un-disposed. Just experiments. Some caveats: The focus distance is long as these things go, which was what I wanted, but it also means it is difficult to see in very close quarters; you cannot use this for a really tight closeup, it is not a magnifier (the garbage disposer is an example of a good working distance). The right angle mirror is useless. The light hits the edge and reflects back so strongly that you cannot see anything in the mirror itself. I rebooted a couple times thinking the video was actually hung, when it was just the static image of the edge. It works fine in daylight with the LED off, but that's not a likely mode of operation. The mirror itself needs to be larger so the edge is right in the light as well as the video. The semi-rigid cable is just about right for my use (primarily looking in walls). It's flexible enough to bend around some corners, but rigid enough to give you some control. And articulating head (there is one but it's 6 times as expensive) would help a lot, but I think this will work nicely for finding my way around studs and wiring in walls.

This is an incredible little camera, especially for the price. I don't know how durable it will be but it seems solidly made. Initially, I could not get an image on my phone. After fully charging the battery I called the seller. It seems the cell phone data signal was interfering and once my phone was in airplane mode and connected to the camera's WiFi the image instantly appeared. The image was very clear and completely stable. I don't know how much range it has, but I was using it on the main floor of my house and needed to go to the basement and the signal remained clear and strong.

I've been eyeing this camera for a while and finally broke down to buy it to fix a problem with my car. One of the parking sensors in my car's rear bumper some how was pushed in and so was dangling some where inside the bumper cover. I used this camera which was small enough to fit through the vacated hole to search for the sensor. I was able to spot it quickly then reattached without having to take the bumper cover off. It saved me a ton of time. I can foresee more opportunities to use this camera to find engine oil leaks, look inside intake manifold, running cables through walls, etc...Oh, and it took me less than 3 minutes to get it up running. I didn't even bother to read the instruction in tiny print...not sure how anybody can read it without a manifying glass, instead I got some tips from earlier reviewers. Very happy so far. Can't attest to durability as I haven't use it long enough but it seems sturdy and of good quality to my naked eyes.

Hardware looks great. I like the long semi-rigid cable. Apple IOS App SUCKS. Does not recognize WiFi network the device is logged into. App does not recognize all symbols that are used in WiFi network passwords. After writing this review and returning the product, the Manufacturer respectfully contacted me to ascertain the exact nature of my problem. I misread and misunderstood the fine print on the directions and thought the product operated on my home WiFi network. The product generates its own WiFi signal that must be used. The Manufacturer and I corresponded by e-mail to determine the problem. Then they offered to send me another product to test. I agreed. The product works as advertised and works exceptionally. Please accept my humble and public apology for an inaccurate critique. You have earned my respect and support.

Depstech Borescope WF020X-10M This is a very nice borescope. I bought this particular model because it has a MUCH BETTER focal distance than most of the other ones you will find. Instead of having a single focal length of about 2”, this one has a clear field of vision from around 1.5 inches to almost 16 inches. I have tested this and it is indeed true. The camera has a set orientation of up, down, left and right – meaning once you put the scope down a pipe the image may be upside down. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM however because the software you download allows you to rotate the view 90 degrees at a time so you can get the image orientated the way you need it. That’s really helpful as are the adjustable lights on the camera tip. The item description for this model did not say much about any included tools but this model DOES come with the attachments for the hook, mirror and magnet along with the reset tool and a tube to carry these items. I did purchased the extra set of 5 tools (3 mirrors, hook and magnet) that fit this model though and also bought the Depstech carrying case for this model. I am happy with these items too. Once you have downloaded and set-up the software on your devise the Wi-Fi connection allows for a fast and convenient way to view the camera image on your mobile devise without having the units daisy-chained together with cords getting in the way. Instructions are decent (see pictures of English instructions) and set-up was quick and simple. The software also allows you to choose the resolution you need from 4 different settings and allows you to record video and take pictures, all in color. That’s cool. Also included in the box are cables to connect to a PC or mobile devise. I highly recommend this borescope/endoscope.Depstech 1200P Semi-rigid Wireless Endoscope, 2.0 MP HD WiFi Borescope Inspection Camera,16 inch Focal Distance & 1800mAh Battery Snake Camera for Android & IOS Smartphone Tablet - Black 33FT

I recently purchased the Depstech 1200P Semi-rigid Wireless Endoscope, model # WF010/020. Depstech 1200P Semi-rigid Wireless Endoscope, 2.0 MP HD WiFi Borescope Inspection Camera,16 inch Focal Distance & 1800mAh Battery Snake Camera for Android & IOS Smartphone Tablet - Black 33FT While I am very happy with the image quality, and the extended focal range and 1800mAh battery of this scope are a plus, there are some discrepancies in the device features, as listed on the website and stated in the user's manual, compared to the actual features available on the device I received with the recommended App, WiFi View (latest version, 2.0.3) and used on my ZTE Android v6.0.1 mobile device. The following may not apply to iOS! The website states that the device has a resolution "reaching 1600x1200." Additionally, the user's manual that I received states in the "Specifications" that the device model number is #WF020, and lists the following available resolutions: 1600x1200, 1280x720, 640x480, 320x240 The user manual also states that the device app has a feature "for adjusting scope direction/range (see photo below). However, my device--with the WiFi View software--has the following available resolutions: 320x240, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720 Furthermore, the feature "for adjusting scope direction/range is not available. Given these discrepancies, I decided to search for another software application which would provide the aforementioned features--particularly as I thought the "scope direction/range" adjustment might be quite useful in some situations. With just a bit of research, I found and installed the App, HD WiFi. It provides the following resolutions: 640x480, 1280x720, 1600x1200, 1920x1080 More importantly, it also provides a feature for rotating the viewed image a full 360o in 90o increments (see photo below). While this may, or may not, be exactly what was described in the information provided with the endoscope I purchased, it does come close to providing the full functionality offered. Both Apps work flawlessly, so if you're interested in obtaining all of the aforementioned funtionality for your scope, I recommend trying HD WiFi also!

I just got my Depstech 1200P borescope (model#:WF010/020) today and I'm very happy with it. This is my 3rd borescope/endoscope I've owned and its by far the best one so far. It's the updated model with the optics that allows the picture to be in focus at longer distances. I'm adding pictures so you can see for yourself. The picture is in perfect focus from 2" to 14". Even at 1" it's still in focus enough to use it and at long distances it doesn't go out of focus too much. The WiFi video output is fluid without any noticeable delay on my Samsung Galaxy S6! The light exposure auto adjusts depending on how much light there is available. Also the LED lights are bright and manually adjustable. Hope this helps. :)

I can't comment on the longevity of this tool because I've recently purchased it. But I can say that the tool is absolutely amazing for the price. I've used it a lot during a recent home improvement project, and it paid for itself many times over. I used this inspection camera to view what's inside the walls before doing construction. It potentially saved me from inflicting expensive damage to water lines and drainage pipes in the area that I was working. The picture quality of the endoscope is quite good. One of the reasons I chose this particular endoscope over competing models is that its focal distance is much more generous. You can clearly view the area several inches away from the camera whereas other endoscopes require the camera to be within a couple of inches from the area you want to view. When viewing the interior of a wall (between the studs), it's particularly helpful to be able to see farther. As can be seen in the included picture, I discovered (and avoided damaging) a water pipe running horizontally across the wall immediately behind the drywall where I had planned to drill. ADDITIONAL DISCLOSURE: After posting this review, it occurred to me that I should update it to mention one important fact to prevent misconceptions about the power of the endoscope's built-in LEDs. In the attached photo, I used an additional LED flashlight when I took that photo with the endoscope. As such, be aware that the endoscope's built-in LEDs are not as bright as shown in the photo. In this particular situation, I was trying to see several feet up to the very top of the wall, and I had no way to "snake" the endoscope up while maintaining control of the camera head to keep it pointed in the desired direction. So I used an additional light source in order to see farther up the wall without physically moving the endoscope all the way to the top of the wall. In most cases in which you only want to see a few inches away from the camera, the built-in LEDs are more than adequate by themselves. Note that the attached photo does accurately reflect the image quality with respect to the endoscope's focal distance. As you can see, the endoscope's camera is capable of taking fairly clear pictures at longer distances (apparently beyond the "official" manufacturer's specification of 16 inch focal distance).
