Doesn't push a ton of air - this would need hours to cool an average sized bedroom. However, if you aim it directly at you then the cooling power is significant. At fan speed 2 it is very effective and makes for an excellent night's sleep. Not too loud - reminds me of a white noise machine. An excellent cooler for the price!

The people that 1 star this do not understand evaporative cooling. They are expecting a little AC unit that blows cold air. That's not what this is. It's a big improvement over a regular fan. The water in the filter evaporates and cools the air several degrees depending on the weather. If there is a lot of humidity, not much water is going to evaporate, thus not much cooling. With dry air, more water can evaporate and you can get some impressive cooling. Since I have a Solar system on my yacht, I am always looking for low power ways to cool things down in the summer. I have some science background and read all about evaporative cooling. It was actually the air conditioning system of the Pharoahs! In a perfect world, an evaporative cooler will cool the air down to the "wet bulb" temperature. You can get an App on your phone to calculate what that temperature is from your weather report using temperature and % relative humidity. The article I read says most evaporative coolers have an efficiency of 85% or better, so your cooler will get most of the way down to that wet bulb temperature. It can be only 6 degrees cooler in humid weather, and over 20 degrees cooler in dry weather. I bought 5 for my yacht, 2 in the bow, 3 in the stern. They do a good job and they are very low power. I have a pretty large solar system and I can run them on battery power. I can keep them going 24 hours a day if I need to. Nothing beats a full on air conditioner, but these guys are fun. It's tough to keep up with the Texas sun in August when it's 100 degrees out. It would normally turn an enclosed cabin into an oven in minutes. I can't say these guys make it cool in the heat of the day, but what they can do is make it reasonably warm. You don't sweat much, and you can stay inside indefinitely without being miserable. I tried two of them in my car. If you park under a tree in the shade, then put up the windshield visor, you can actually sit there and read or whatever and not burn up. It's pretty fun! What they really do best is at night. Normally it would be like 80 degrees in the cabin, and I have spent many a night tossing and turning because it's no fun trying to sleep when you're too hot. It's been a fact of life for me as long as I've been a boat owner. These guys can knock off that last 10 degrees and it's really nice. It's a cool balmy breeze like you're at the beach. By 3AM you are looking for a blanket so you don't get a chill! I really like making a cocktail and listening to some island music with the LED mood lights on. It's a great time! You can close your eyes and you are in the Carribean! In the house, for that room that's a good 10 degrees too hot, these guys do a great job too! Your air conditioner has already taken a lot of the moisture out of the air, so you are ready to go. I find myself using them at home to get that cool balmy sleepy feeling and I am out like a light. … plus my trip to the ocean can happen as soon as I turnout the lights!

This little cooler works well, keeps a bubble (about 10 feet in diameter) of cool air in a room at 70 degrees, very comfortable. Won't cool down your house or a large room but keeps a 10x10 room tolerable when it's 80 degrees and above outside. Helpful hint, as long as you keep water in the tank and the unit running you don't need to worry about mold or mildew build up, that being said about every tenth tank I throw in a cap full of Lysol liquid cleaner to help make sure there's no mold or mildew build up, makes the room smell nice too.

**Updating this with all the negative attacks of 'fake review' -- it is NOt a fake review. Check out my profile and you can see that. THIS UNIT COOlS YOU OFF PERSONALLY IN YOUR PERSONAL SPACE NEAR THE UNIT - NOT THE ENTIRE OFFICE OR ROOM. It blows very very cold air and is lovely. My office is ridiculously hot and really uncomfortable. The fan I had on my desk was loud, and blew my hair around and distracted me. More importantly, though, blowing hot air at me did not help. This unit has made my office pleasant and comfortable for the first time ever. The unit comes out ready to use, except just add water. It works exactly as directions state: fill the tank, let it absorb for 5 mins then start it up and you will feel lovely cool air gently coming out. Really cool like A/C, not a fan. I actually got too cold on high, so I use it on the 2nd setting (there are 3 settings). I like also that you can power it via USB on your laptop or use the traditional plug adapter. One thing I found though, it says it one tank of water will power on low for 8 hours (like 18 -20 oz?) but mine I have to refill several times a day -- I'm assuming my office is not only HOT but very dry as well. I am really raving about this -- it's pretty life changing if you are miserable and feel sick being too hot at work.

This wonderful little device does *not* deserve three stars at all. I'm assuming that the people who rated it poorly weren't sure what they're getting. Here's what this is: a portable little evaporative cooler that blows chilled air wherever you put it, and works really efficiently. Here's what this is not: a full-room-chilling air conditioner. Also, if you're in a humid climate, this isn't gonna do anything to help your situation. Here's my use occasion: I'm in the high desert in New Mexico, and it is damn hot, hotter than it's ever been. 100 degrees in July. Thanks climate change! I like hot weather and never needed/wanted air conditioning, because sitting in a refrigerated sealed box is gross on many levels. But the heat here has crossed a threshold. I'm working at my desk most of the day, and the swelter is intensely distracting. Open windows and doors don't help much. Fans just blow hot air at me. Enter the Arctic Air! All I need to do is pour some water into the well-designed trough, push the glowy 'on' button, select my favorite LED color for some chromatherapy while I chill, and all of a sudden there's ACTUAL COLD AIR blowing right at me! I like to keep this on the floor near my feet, with the vent pointing up. It's a bit too distractingly in-your-face to go atop my desk, but YMMV. The beautifully chill blast takes the edge off the heat perfectly. Feels SO GOOD! Do not hesitate to get one of these if you're in a dry location and need a hit of cold while you work. Note: It's whisper-quiet on low. Louder but not horrible on high. And it does use quite a bit of water when it's running on high, but whateva. I keep a pitcher of filtered water nearby and top the thing off when it gets low.

Great product, compact and easy to use. My wife has it on her desk to cool down since her coworker runs a space heater in the summer, provides welcome relief! Design, fit and finish is clean. Great buy for the money.

My office is at the front of our house where the afternoon sun shines in. It gets warmer than the rest of the house so I thought this would be a great thing to help keep me cool! It's AMAZING. I was really surprised at how long it produces cool air, and it's small enough it doesn't take up a bunch of space! Highly recommend it, and I love it.

So far, love what it’s putting out. Feels lovely and super cool. It’s in my sons nursery, so I’m going to see if it will actually keep a room cool. Here’s to hoping. But I lllike it so far!
