The speed is real!
NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Cable Modem Router Combo (24x8) AC1900 DOCSIS 3.0 | Certified for Xfinity by Comcast, Spectrum, COX, more (C7000) ok, I forgot to save some speed test images of the cable company supplied modem with the Cisco router before I installed this modem-router. it was honestly simple. make sure you record your cable account number, phone number (associated with the account), username and password prior to disconnecting the old modem. once that is written down, proceed with hooking up the router. I was able to rename the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and guest wifi allocations and input my passwords prior to calling the cable company to have them register the new modem. in less than 10 minutes, I was doing the new speed test and seeing nearly double the speeds. before I installed the new router I installed several cameras and smart switches and outlets and other things used over the internet. after getting the router done, WOW.... a dramatic difference showing a significant improvement in the response time on things I used my phone to look at. Namely, the cameras, I went from over half a second delay to nearly instant feedback. if you are looking to improve your internet, I strongly recommend you get this. You will not be disappointed. (I'm not a gamer, so, I can't speak for its performance to high data usage games - but I suspect it will still be good for it).

Get it. Easy setup. Much faster than others
We use Suddenlink and have been paying $20 a month to rent a modem/WiFi for a long time. A friend told me about Orbi, so I took the plunge and ordered the modem/WiFi + satellite. Pretty easy set up. Got ISP (Suddenlink) on the line and once they had the MAC address they activated my Orbi and it is awesome. Never had internet speed this fast. Satellite is easy setup once modem is running. Plug it in and wait 3 minutes. Expands network tremendously. ONE HUGE TIP: Rename to exactly your previous WiFi name and password. You won’t have to “update” passwords on any mobile phone, tablet, laptop or anything that was connected to previous WiFi. Big time saver. Once you are up and running, go into modem settings -) Advanced Mode. Rename.

it takes a some time to get your return back but it goes by pretty quick when you think about it
So I've always been contemplating the switch from having to rent a cable modem router to owning one and never really went all in until this purchase. Yeah, it takes a some time to get your return back but it goes by pretty quick when you think about it. I mean I started thinking about it years ago..... So I'd say about a year ago I did try when I saw a deal on an ARRIS Surfboard SBG6580 (certified refurbished). I paid somewhere around $76 with tax and thought I could make this back in less than a year considering I pay $11 and some change a month renting a unit from Xfinity. It was a bit of a hassle getting it registered as I had to call Xfinity and provide them with key pieces of information specific to the router to get it activated. Got it activated and noticed the speeds were horrendous despite it's advertised properties. It's been awhile now so I can't say specifically what it's speed was but only that it was going way slower than the rented unit from Xfinity. So needless to say I said screw it and returned the ARRIS unit and stuck with the rented one. In all honesty, it may have been that it was a refurbished unit but if it says certified then in my mind it should run like new. Fast forward to present day and I though I'd give it one more go. Started to do some research and found the Netgear N600 C3700 cable modem router combo. Saw that it was in a whole bunch of various top 10 lists for lower to mid end ranged units and went for it. Setup was a breeze as all I did was hook it up via ethernet to my laptop and inputted the required information. Activation was almost immediate and I was off an running within 10 minutes of unboxing it. Note to those of you who don't have a laptop or computer with ethernet connection availability, you'll have to do it the old fashioned way and call up your provider for activation. This is for Netgear products, can't say the same for other brands as I don't have experience on others aside from ARRIS, which at that time I don't recall there being a direct ethernet option. Well, same story, I was getting horrible speeds over wi-fi in the range of 5-20 mbps download and maybe 1-2 mbps upload. If I was in the same room near the router I would be on the higher end of the spectrum but as soon as I went to another room it would drop off in speed significantly. So this time around I though I'd just scrap this unit and go for a higher end expensive unit. Did some more research and found the Nighthawk. Read all sorts of positive reviews on this unit and I can confidently say this thing rocks! Setup was no different than the other N600. Plugged it directly into my laptop via ethernet and followed the steps. Did numerous tests over a few days and speeds are at a constant 53 -56 mbps download and 5.78 -5.95 mbps upload. My service level from Xfinity is 60 Mbps download and 6 up so this thing is right on target. I moved around to different areas of my house and experienced very little to no speed variations. So long story short, everything about this unit is excellent. Simple set up, blazing speeds with little to no drop with distance (strong signal), options for multiple wi fi's, small footprint and extremely light. It's not built like a tank but what does that matter as it's not like you're going to be moving it around on a daily basis or even interacting with it at all for that matter once it's installed. I liked the fact that it's sleek looking, small, and light. I have to say that when it comes to cable modem routers, it's best to fork out a little more and go high end because you really do get what you pay for. It may be a tad expensive at ~$180 + tax but it's damn worth every penny. Now instead of paying myself back from having to rent a unit in 6 months I'm at more like 16 months but time flies so who really cares?

Great modem/router for DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit internet
Purchased this for use with Comcast's Gigabit internet (DOCSIS 3.1) to replace the XB6 modem that Comcast leases with the service and overall I am very pleased with the purchase. Installation was super easy via Comcast's self-activation website, per the instructions on the included quick start guide. The lights on the left side of the device conveniently light up white for 1000 Mbps ethernet connections or amber for 10/100 Mbps connections. I'm getting about 900-950Mbps download and 40-42Mbps upload speeds on my PC on a wired connection (service is advertised as up to 1Gbps download and 35 Mbps upload speeds). My smartphone and other devices connected via 5Ghz WiFi are averaging speeds of 300-400 Mbps down and 35-42Mbps up. The wired speeds are comparable to what I was getting on the XB6, and WiFi speeds appear to be consistently faster and more stable on the C7800. I can't speak much to the range because I have a pretty small space and have been getting a stable WiFi connection everywhere on both modems I've used with the service. The Netgear Genie interface is intuitive, though a bit sluggish, for navigating and changing all the various settings. I also can't speak to any of the advanced features, as I've not had to change anything out of the box except for WiFi passwords. Ultimately, I was looking to avoid leasing equipment and wanted a DOCSIS 3.1 modem with built-in router and at least 4 ethernet ports (vs. only 2 on the XB6) to connect my PC, TV, and gaming consoles. This appears to be the only device on the market out right now (July 2017) that checks all the boxes for my needs and it performs as expected. I lucked out and was able to snatch this up during a brief (launch promo?) period when Amazon sold it directly for $325, which contributed to my five-star rating as a great value. At that price point, I thought it was a good deal considering a separate DOCSIS 3.1 modem and router of similar specs bought together would run closer to the $400 MSRP. At full price, I'd probably rate it at 4 stars since you do have some options and can potentially save money if you don't mind having two separate devices and buying a modem and router separately.

Best Purchase I’ve Made in Awhile
I should have done this a year ago. I live in a 2200 square foot one story house with several users and gaming. My current Arris Gateway was giving me inconsistent WiFi download speeds and dropping internet connections frequently. After switching to this, I now have both 2.4 G and 5G WiFi connections. 2.4G gives me 60 mbps and 5G 150+ mbps for my 150 mbps Xfinity Comcast service. Set up was relatively easy. Took about 40 minutes to get internet connection to phones and computers and a few hours of time to reset WiFi for all my other devices. The fast consistent speeds I get now make this purchase well worth the higher price tag.

Great Product
This products is great. We have Comcast as our provider and service is not good. I refuse to rent their router. My previous router was 6 years old and they kept blaming it on that.. Could not facetime or stream without trouble. I went to Best Buy to get their opinion and they wanted to sell me a separate router and a modem. Cost was over $200.00. Decided to use my prime acct. and check out an all in one router/modem and could not be happier with this product. I am not a tech person but setting this up was so easy. Since I set this up, a week ago, I have not been kicked off the internet or any trouble streaming. I saved well over $150.00 by purchasing this from Amazon.

How easy the installation is.
I was nervous about this purchase and installation (being over 70 years old) as I have little technical knowledge and fewer skills. However, simply following the guidance on the app I was able to install the Orbi and have everything up and running in about 15-20 minutes. The improvement was dramatic with download speeds increasing from about 60 Mbps to 125 Mbps. I could not be happier with the Orbi Whole Home WiFi system.

it works beautifully and was pretty easy to set up
I've had it for almost a week now, and it has been working very well for me. My plan with xFinity calls for 55 mbps speeds and I actually got more than that with this router when I tested it. For my one bedroom apartment, it works beautifully and was pretty easy to set up.

Works like a charm!
Got my new netgear modem router and followed the easy instructions to get it hooked up. I have Comcast and it hooked up and activated right away but I still had to call Comcast to register it with them and deregister theirs. After that was done, it was all set, just had to reconnect my phone, tablet, laptop, smart tv's and Alexa but it went just fine. Speed is fast and all works perfectly. Why didn't I do this a long time ago??? I am retired and try to stay on top of the tech in our home but this was no problem if you have some basic knowledge and follow the directions.

Wow, it really works!
Wow! I have spent untold hundreds over the years trying to get WiFi working throughout my older 2 story home replete with walls and rooms; while I certainly didn't relish spending another 400 bucks, desperation kicked in and I figured I would give it a try. With the ORBI system, I am getting a solid 200Mbps throughout every corner of the house, even the downstairs media room that I could never get a reliable signal. Finally I can cut the cord and not suffer through continual buffering errors. Very, very satisfied with this ORBI system.
