Quiet and it gets the job done.

This is an upgrade from my old APC UPS. That one is several years old. But I have a new computer that requires a good sine wave signal so I got this one. Easy setup. The battery showed up with almost a full charge on it. It was pretty much just plug it into the outlet and plug in my computer, monitor and my router. Very easy display to read. As long as it keeps running I will leave five stars for it. It is heavy. Around 40 lbs. Maybe they should design in some finger holds into the case. I will use my old unit for my NAS. I had changed the battery on that one some time last year. Update June 17, 2018: Nothing to say bad about this. I lost power one day due to the utility work being done down the street. They shut the power for a couple of hours. No problems with keeping the computer on until I shut it down several minutes later. It has been a silent running UPS.

So Far So Good

Purchased this UPS to provide backup power for broadband modem, managed switch, security gateway and WiFi AP POE injector. With thunderstorm season I wanted to prevent the devices rebooting during short outages, and provide continued network access for up to a 1 hour power outage. UPS arrived quickly and well protected in manufacturer box inside second Amazon box. Battery was over 80% charged on receipt. After fully charged estimated load ~8% and estimated battery run time over 90 minutes, Once connected to network and followed process to register online worked without issue and was easily connected to the Smart APC website without issues.

Works great, PowerChute is a heaven sent.

I read a few reviews where the software for this power supply wasn't working for some, however, I had no such issue. The unit is well packaged and has well written and clear instructions, it is simple to install and comes with the required power and USB cables. Our neighborhood suffers from semi-frequent power outages and this battery backup has really made a difference in my daily workflow and I no longer have to worry about an abrupt shutdown of my workstation.

Perfect for Home Theatre racks.

Installed this in my home theatre rack. It was exactly what I needed to protect my AV equipment. I've trusted APC to protect my computers for decades.

Works great

Plug and play is super easy, for my rack fine. Super heavy so was tricky to install alone. As a basic UPS it works perfect out of the box, but I haven’t set it up online yet

Reliable power backup

This backup was recommended by my highly technical son. He created a Flex server for me and feared a power glitch might upset this server. Since I received the backup supply, we have had three power interruptions. In every case the supply completely protected my Flex server. After serval minutes, the server automatically and safely shuts down. The MIFI and router remain powered by this backup for hours after the power has been lost, which is very convenient, given the power company uses Email during outages.

This thing is a monster. SOO Heavy

Once it got this in place it was super easy to install and set up. But getting it in place is not for the weak. This thing is really heavy. App is a little hard to find but when you do it is easy to set up and program to send you alerts if something is not going as it should.

Great replacement

I picked this up after my other model went out. I could have replaced the batteries but I wanted something more modern, something I could monitor from the cloud and get alerts about. So far, so good. It was a breeze to set up with PowerChute. I don't foresee any issues and the warranty seems solid! I would definitely recommend!

Excellent product, dangerously clueless support

Using the APC SMC1000C for my IT equipment including a Buffalo Terastation 1200D running a raid. Contrary to the false information given to me by a completely clueless APC support twonk this ups CAN be connected via usb to the nas, and the nas WILL be able to be programmed to SHUT DOWN gracefully via its browser interface. Just plug the ups into the mains, connect it to the nas via usb, plug the nas into the ups and boot the nas. Go to the nas administration page in your browser and set it up to synchronize with the ups. I tested it by setting it to shut down one minute after loss of mains power and then I pulled the plug on the ups. Workd flawlessly. No need for the included PowerChute “Business Edition” software which to all intents and purposes is targeted at servers. Three stars for battery life because it’s brand new and I have no other information yet. One star for product support because I was outright told the lie that this ups will not send shutdown information to the nas via usb.
