I recently built a new outdoor area for Airbnb campers on my property. Two showers, two sinks and a toilet. I considered running hot water from my main house but instead opted for this portable water heater located close to the new area. Water pressure is not a problem for me so that helps. I’m quite surprised at how simple this device is. 2D size batteries run the entire unit. No electricity! It turns on and off automatically. The brass fittings that came with it are quite adaptable. Had to go to Home Depot to get some PVC fittings to match but all is well. Enjoying it so far!

Tested the Outdoor portable propane shower outside with a 8 mph breeze. The breeze was blowing directly at the shower. Pros: Easy install if you read the instructions. Take your time reading them. Water heats up fast and stays hot Temperature adjustment is somewhat easy to figure out. With a 8mph steady breeze the unit stayed lit without any interruption to the flame. Everything you need to hook it up ( other than the propane bottle , 2 D batteries, water and garden hose ) are included. I looked for common sense be it wasn't shipped with the unit. More on that later. On-off button on the shower head Cons: Instructions may have been written by the Chinese. At times I though I was having a stroke while reading the installation guide. Some instructions make no sense. This isn't a big deal unless you drank to much coffee before hand and have a anger problem. Some things I learned while testing it. I planed on taking it camping. The reasons is simple.I need to shower once a day of I whine like a 6 year old. Don't judge me. With that said, this shower is heavy and cumbersome. I installed a pump, screen, extra hose and 12 volt car battery for the " off the grid " pump. If you do the electric pump thing read up on the gallons per minute requirements for this shower. I got the one that will empty a swimming pool in 15 minutes. Great pump but a short shower. 3 min shower = 5 gallons. When the pump starts to push air into the shower unit, the safety will shut off the propane. At this point the water temperature will drop to really cold. When the water returns to the shower the pilot light will automatically light the propane. The water can become extremely hot for a short burst of time. Common sense: If you smell propane and the water isn't heating up according to the manual it's not broken. Tighten the propane hose. Finger tight doesn't count. If the water pressure is low ...... you are losing water from the hose connection. You would think I would have figured that out, but I just kept looking at the shower spout thinking, " It's broken " . The plumber tape provided works if you use it. I must have missed that part in the manual.

This is my THIRD tankless water heater replacement for my tiny house shower! I've used two different brand water heaters prior to buying this one. BOTH of those water heaters were more expensive than this Gasland water heater and BOTH have failed me! Then I came across this water heater by Gasland (Gasland 1.58GPM 6L Outdoor Portable Propane Gas Tankless Water Heater). It was very easy to install and I just vented it through my existing vent pipe I had for my previous water heater and it works great! Great water pressure too! I didn't use the cheaply made hand-held shower wand that this water heater came with; I used my existing one that I had purchased from a hardware store that I've used with my previous hot water heaters. I have a 12 volt water pump I use with my system; and, I guess my previous issues with the two previous water heaters was the water pressure, or the lack thereof, that the water heaters needed. This water heater (the Gasland) seems to be designed specifically for my 12 volt off grid set up. I ran this heater under a 20 minute test right after my install to see if the water pressure and/or water temps varied any like the other two heaters did. It stayed steady as advertised and there was NO fluctuation in water pressure nether! Even my lights in the bathroom stopped "flickering" with this water heater and that is BEFORE I decided to install a small pressurized water tank to improve my water flow! I was amazed by this product's performance! I'm building a second cabin; and if this water heater continues to perform the way it is now, I WILL be buying a second one for my other cabin! I highly recommend this water heater over it's competition brands of tankless water heaters!

I am so impressed with this outdoor shower. It is amazing how well it works in delivering hot water with the same pressure as it is when I take an indoor shower. I would highly recommend this shower to anyone and don’t know how any other could be better. The only thing I did after I received it was to change the shower head to a higher quality one with a pause control on it. Update March 19, 2019: Customer service is awesome with this company. I had an issue with my unit and they took through all of the steps to see what was wrong with it. They were very professional on the phone and extremely helpful. In addition, I was sent a refurbished unit to replace the one I had. I have nothing to say but positive statements about this company's customer service and the product. I wish other companies would take note of how Gasland treats its customers. I still rate this product with 5 stars!! Update March 21, 2019: Got a call from the company today and they said they were actually going to send me a new unit, instead of a refurbished one! That makes me very happy! Still 5 star rating!

This was the first time I've ever used an on-demand water heater and I have been pleasantly surprised. It works surprisingly well with hot water flowing quickly when the system fires up. My particular installation is atypical of what the average person will use this for as this unit is outside on a full-time basis, mounted to a BBQ grill trailer with a sink that I installed. If you are going to use the system this way, you need to find a way to keep it as dry as possible as prolonged exposure to the elements may cause a bit of rust on the external case. It is also imperative that you drain the system completely if you will be leaving it out in freezing temperatures. I experienced a burst pipe on the heat exchanger because I did not drain it properly. The leak was easily repaired with some lead free solder and a standard plumber's blowtorch. This was completely my fault, but was easily repaired and I am in no way a plumber. Overall I've been pretty happy with this purchase. UPDATE: I lost the drain plug and Gasland sent me a replacement quickly to get me up and running again!

I used this for the first time at our cabin this weekend ,almost four days. This replaced the Ecotemp L5. This unit is much, much better in terms of performance and quality. Plenty of hot water, great shower head, lights every time and stays lit so far even in breezy conditions.. This supplies an outside shower and small sink. I have well water at 60 psi and plenty of flow. I would consider this over the Ecotemp any day. Edit: I have it plumbed with braided stainless steel washing machine hoses to feed the building and heater. Hot output coded with red tape, cold input, blue. I hang the heater on the outside wall with one screw. The hoses connect easily to valves with the same color coded hand wheels. I hook up the propane tank, turn on, put the shower head into the holder, and it's ready to use, 3 minutes even at night. Edit 2: Used this again last weekend, 2 1/2 days. Tested in windy conditions in the exact same location as the prior Ecotemp L5. Worked perfectly, not a single flame out .

out of the box and produced hot water within 15 minutes. plenty of hot water, enough to two-thirds fill a two person Japanese style Setsu hot tub in about 45 mins. and temperature is easily changed.

I wanted to put wheels on it to make it very mobile. So I bought a hand cart and attached some plywood to it and then attached the Gasland outdoor shower to it. Had a spare small propane tank that holds 2.6 gallons of propane which slides on the back bracket This will last many, many showers. I also installed a pump with an on/off switch and extra long electrical cord. Lastly I have the option of an attached water container or can use a bucket. Another option is I can hook it up to any hose that supplies water. I have tested it and it works great especially being able to turn it off without unplugging it.

I have a jacuzzi tub out in my greenhouse that I enjoy soaking in. (READ: Zen environment) It's plumbed into my house hot water system. The problem is my home HW tank is 50 gallons, and my Jacuzzi tub holds 140 gallons. You can see where that's going whenever I wanted to use it. Soooo,, I did a BUNCH of research.. (Hours and hours and hours.) I knew I wanted to be able to FILL the tub when I needed to soak. I knew I needed it to be as hot as possible. And I knew I wasn't interested in buying a massive HW tank for in the house that I would have to pay for the electricity to keep it hot until I wanted to use it. I chose propane to avoid having to wire up a 30 (or50) amp breaker into my house wiring and then running it out to the greenhouse. I chose on demand propane water heater so I can control the cost of the hot water I'm using. This unit is AWESOME! It took me about half an hour to install it. For the initial run I just ran it with the shower, all as prescribed and described in the directions. I put the showerhead in the tub and left it to start filling. Within 5 seconds there was serious steam coming up from the tub and I made the mistake of putting my hand down into the water stream to check the temperature. Yep.. It needed adjusting.. DOWN! I left it running slightly hotter than I intended to soak in as it's a bit chilly this evening in NE Florida and I wanted to allow for temp drop before I got in. Long story short... It makes all of the hot water I want! My well water pressure isn't the greatest so I set a timer for 18 minutes to come back out to make sure it was running hot water. (It has a 20 minutes safety shut off feature.) At exactly 20 minutes I heard the unit "CLICK" and I pulled the shower head out of the tub and sure enough.. Within a few seconds, it began running cold water. I turned the water off at the shower head shut off, then flicked it back on. Instantly I heard another "CLICK" and a "Whoosh" and the heater restarted and in 5 seconds the water was just as hot as it was pre-shut-off. I love this thing! This wknd intend to do a little Big Box Store shopping for some plumbing fittings. Going to disconnect the tub from the house hot water supply and run this new on demand water heater into the hot water side of the tub spigot. So far.. Very satisfied. I'll update in a few months to let everyone know how the conversion to hard water line supply went and how the heater is working after a hundred uses or so, some comments on the efficiency of it, etc. Buy this heater!

I use this at an off grid cabin. This is a great value for the money, comes with everything you need to install and use right away other than propane and a water source. Simple, yet nice looking product that was thoughtfully packaged from the factory. One word of caution. When you switch the shower head off water that remains in the tubing will be much hotter than your set temperature when you turn it back on, something to keep in mind if you have kids using it. If you just let the unit run non stop this is not an issue. Is it perfect, no. But at this price it’s pretty hard to beat.
