Better that other brands because of ease of assembly; also, cubes can hold heavy books!

I spent at least a month researching cube systems that would work for my needs. I wanted a system that was stable and would not topple over, was easy to assemble, rearrange, increase or decrease in size, and allow personal decorative expression -- and reasonably priced. If any of these concerns is important to you, then I highly recommend this cube system. I don't know much about this company except that I found their product on Amazon, and am so glad I did. I have written only about 3 reviews in my life, and only do so for the best products based on my experience. A wonderful product! Loved it so much, I have now assembled 28 cubes and have much better organization. Thanks to Songmics and Amazon for offering this cube system.

Great for Light to Medium weight Items

I use this for my kid's big toys. When I first received it, I had seen another brand with a heavier capacity and blackouts behind it but then I found out from the manual that it could take more weight than advertised which was a plus for me. After building it halfway, I needed to wrap some extension cords around and behind it and that is when I realized how perfect it was for my needs. Had I gotten the other one, the blackout sheet behind it would have made it annoying to deal with the cords. Also, SONGMICS products are excellent. I have purchased several of their Ottomans in different sizes in the last 5 years and I'm amazed at their consistent quality and durability specially when you factor in the price.

Sturdy, yet lightweight cube storage unit -- daughters give them two thumbs up

We bought two of the nine-cube storage shelves for our two elementary age daughters to use in their room. The shelves took a while to put together, simply because there are so many pieces. The procedure for putting the shelf units together is quite easy, especially with the included mallet. The only tricky part about it is keeping the two sizes straight for sides and top/bottom of each section (the sides are slightly wider). The shelf is shipped in a compact box, and comes with some extra parts, enough for one additional cube on one of the units (if you buy two). Our girls are pleased as punch with their new shelves, and I'm pleased as well. It was a good purchase.

Buy a rubber mallet.

I bought these with very low expectations due to the price point and a few of the reviews, but after assembly.. I'm guessing all these negative reviewers simply didn't own rubber mallets. It would have been very difficult and frustrating to put one together without, and probably wouldn't have turned out very safe or sturdy anyways. Took me all of 20 minutes to put together a 9 cube by myself. As a contractor, I've learned to refuse to sign off on anything that I haven't vigorously jumped on and/or hung from, and I weigh 170 lbs (modestly). I was going to photograph myself standing on this thing, but my house is a mess and I'm too lazy. Tamp the poles down all the way and this thing is rock solid and stable.

Excellent

Combining two of these, I ended up with 20 cubes rather than the 18, when assembled separately. The unit is incredibly sturdy. I have a lot of Christmas decorations, and this held all but the greenery which is too large to fit in the cubes. It wasn’t difficult to assemble, although my arm is kind of sore from hammering in all the metal poles which give this unit its strength and stability. The rubber mallet is very thoughtfully included, and makes installation much easier than it otherwise would be. It’s important to pay attention to each step and not skip ahead, because going back to disassemble would be aggravating. That’s human error though, not a fault in this product. I recommend it highly to anyone willing to pay attention and do it right. I bought two more units which will arrive today, that’s how satisfied I am. This won’t solve all my storage needs, but it will solve about 95% of them and at a very reasonable price.

Organize ur closet for less money!

If you wanna organize things with a least cost yet a quality product, this is your sturdy bet. I bought a 6cubes and 9cubes. Once assembled, I was surprised the sturdiness of the 9cubes compare to 6cubes. I returned the 6cubes and bought 2 more 9cubes. Each took 30mins n a bit of hammering to hold it in the right place n shape. In each package, they provide extra pieces but not enough to make a cube. I made 2more cubes from 3packages. I would be end up spending each piece $100, to get this much storage space. A value for money product that needs your time n hardwork.

Even if you like puzzles, this one may challenge you

This one may frustrate you to some degree..but for the price and a temporary piece of furniture.. its ok. Only real complaint is, the material that forms the unit shows wear very quickly, so be careful of that if you have anything rigid that your going to set against it or in the cubbies every day that might rub the material. **Update: Customer service did follow up with me after my review and offered a couple of options to try to right the purchase. This is not a factory or customer service flaw..simply a user issue. It may work better for some applications than others, but I do appriciate good customer service. Thank you Cathy, I'm going to bump to 4 stars for service! ***Update: Customer service contacted me and refunded part of my purchase price, even though I previously declined. They really are trying to stay on top of things. Would not hesitate to do business with these folks again. 5 star service

Excellent product

I was a little skeptical about this product before it arrived, but I'm skeptical no longer. It makes for very solid shelving, the cubes are a very practical size, and it is easy to put together once you get the hang of it. I also find it quite attractive. I especially like the flexibility which allows me to build it in any shape I want. For the price it is hard to beat.

Easy to assemble

As a 24 year old woman who's never built a thing in her life, this was a life saver. It isn't hard to build as long as you keep track of what pieces you've got. I built it as 3-3-2-1 because I preferred it that way. It isn't hard to build, but getting the rods to fit in snugly can be a little tricky without some force. Since I don't own a hammer, I literally just used the backside of my screwdriver and it worked. I built it over a series of days because I'm lazy but it didn't take me long at all. If you're like me and have lots of books, this bookshelf can hold them up. I bought clothe drawers to hold random stuff and my makeup as well and it looks pretty awesome.
