I bought this violin for my 4-year-old daughter. For the price, it looks great and came in an excellent packaging and includes a case and few other extras. At first, I wasn't sure why there's no sound coming but after watching youtube videos I learned to apply rosin to the bow and both of them are included in this package. Now its time for my daughter to start learning the violin :)

This is a beginner violin, and for that this set is a fantastic value. Everything needed for a student who is starting to get into this amazing and versatile instrument is included in this bundle. Tuner, VERY nice hard shell case with shoulder straps, extra set of strings, large block of rosin and shoulder rest. What is often an issue with beginner violins is the tunability specially for out of the box brand new ones. I spent about 10 minutes broad tuning and stretching the strings and once you have your pegs in place (make sure to push the inwards as you tune it within a semi-tone) then another five minutes fine tuning. I am very impressed with the fact that it holds its tuning extremely well. The next day all I had to do was half turns on the fine pegs and we were on our way again with it. The bow is very nice as well, it took me about 15 minutes to get the rosin applied (take your time when doing this because if you apply it too fast you will met it and have blobs of Rosing all over and possibly ruin/waste your material). The brige was set perfectly out of the box did not need to adjust at all. Even while being a beginner instrument they really tried to make it look and feel like an intermediate piece. As seen on the pics the wood grain on the back looks very nice. I would recommend this piece to anyone starting to play the violin and specially for kids getting into it. I like to say that I have been giving these new Chinese brands a chance lately and have not been disappointed several instruments are made in China and are of great quality and several of the major name brands manufacture their instruments in there as well so the competition and quality has been improving drastically in the past few years. Finally the cost, it will be hard to beat the value on this one then when my kids get really into it and moving onto the next level I could consider spending more money on a high end piece.

Mine came with the bridge already in place and everything as set up as possible. As you might expect, the pegs struggle to stay in properly but once you secure them and broad tune they will hold nicely while you employ the fine tuners. A couple of hairs on the bow were a bit off but nothing too serious. As a musician and a teacher I've long wanted to expose my 4 children to the violin but cannot afford high-end equipment. If you're looking to buy something that won't cost a fortune to replace after a mishap but will still allow for many hours of practice and training then this is it!

The unit arrived as it was promised in Prime mailing time. It included all the necessary accessories for this kids violin. My daughter's teacher helped us to setup and bring up to live on this violin. So we used it in the first violin lesson after using rental unit for about a month which the rental cost was more than half of this EVA-1 violin cost. The teacher said it sounded better than the rental unit as well which was a big deal for us to buy this violin. We should buy this violin a month ago to save rental cost.

My daughter s violin teacher sent me two links for violins on Amazon. I chose this one over the other cheaper one. And I am happy about it. We just had the first violin lesson. The teacher inspected the violin and rosined it and played some tune. She said the sound is beautiful. Everything looks good. (The teacher is from Russia, she said for beginners no need to buy expensive ones. Also according to her, many violin teachers teaches wrong:D ) Update: I bought this exact violin in June this year. Now is December. Everything still works well. Some reviewer said seller might makes a difference. Mine is from seller Moukey. Someone also mentioned the shoulder rest being too short. As i understand, all shoulder rests that come with this price level violin is just for backup at best. Our teacher would just throw it into trash. My daughter for the past six months, is using a hand sewed pillow. The teacher has several of these pillows of different sizes. She told us to invest on a wolf straight shoulder rest when it is time for size 1/2. Also we did bought a separate black color rosin at the request of the teacher.

The Easter EVA-1 Violin Set is an absolute must have if you are starting out, or have any interest in, playing violin. The fact that you get a decent quality instrument for about $90 is usually completely unrealistic, but to add a good quality case, bow, extra strings, tuner, rosin, strap, and shoulder rest and still keep such a low price is just amazing! The violin itself is made out of a laminate wood with some good quality veneer to make it look very nice, as is expected with anything even quadruple it's price range or maybe more. The bow works very well and has a really nice look to it, as well. The tuners are friction pegs, which are a bit more difficult to use, compared to a geared tuner, but they work exactly as expected and seem to be made out of real ebony. The bridge is a standard wooden floating bridge with a nice pattern carved in it. The fine tuners on the string mounts work well and seem to hold the strings in place just fine. All in all, it's a fine instrument for what you pay for. It looks great, has a nice finish to it, stays in tune and plays well. There's really not much more you can ask for in any instrument. Whether you have had an interest in learning and just didn't think it was affordable for this type of instrument to try it out, or your child has an interest and you're not sure if they will stick with it... for under $100 this is such a remarkable deal that really is too good to pass up.

Great starter violin. Purchased for my 5 year old and it is the perfect size. He loves it and is ready to start lessons! Priced well for all that is included, especially if you are not sure if your child will want to stick with the instrument.

Honestly thought this was a good product. Read a lot of reviews before I made the purchase. The pictures really did help along with the other reviews. The violin looks solid and very sturdy. I'm not an expert but took my daughter to her first lesson with the violin and the instructor said that it wasn't that bad for the price as well as a starter musical instrument. Good price for the product.

Seems like a great instrument for beginners. It is a good value for the price and came in a very nice case. Included everything needed to get started and arrived in great condition. The 1/4 size was great for a 5 year old. Can't wait for the first lesson, as I have very little knowledge of the instrument.
