LOVE THIS LEASH!!!

Love this leash! I have two ~20lb. furbabies, 2-year-old Beagle and 1-year-old Dachshund/Pomeranian Mix. Both VERY energetic & erratic on a leash (especially if the beagle catches a scent!). My fiancee and I purchased this leash, and attached a bungee leash coupler to allow us to walk them both at the same time. We love the soft grip on the handle, and the lock button is easy to push! We've ordered several leashes from Amazon and after a few weeks or so, they're worn or completely dysfunctional. The TUG Leash has been through Louisiana thunderstorms, and the bouncing/pulling/biting of 2 very happy furbabies!

My 60 lb labrador and golden retriever mix is not leash trained well at all. The leash was very sturdy and feels great in my hand. The retracting mechanism worked like a charm and I definitely would recommend after trying plenty of others. Can't beat the price either!

Great product

OK, so I've only used it once but it was great. The brake worked well when I wanted to stop my dog from headed into the road (we walk on the shoulder of a rural paved road) and I could easily walk next to her rather than having the leash get tangled. This is not to say that it didn't happen, but it was rare. It made the walk much easier. She did run to the end of the leash a few times but a reminder to come back and the strap rolled back nicely. She is only a 22 lb dog but she did hit the end of the strap with a bit of power and everything worked fine. The grip was large enough for my hands so that was also a plus.I don't know how this product would do for a large dog but I would recommend this product to anyone who has a medium sized dog who enjoys going for a walk.

It DOES have a thumbs-free lock feature. YAY!

I had always bought flexi brand in the past because it was the only kind I could find in the stores. So this is my first TUG leash, and it's working great. I was surprised to find that it DOES have an easy lock that can be set without needing to keep your thumb on it, which is nice. It means that if I don't want to use the retractable feature, I can turn it off and use it just like a regular leash. TUG is working as well as any other retractable leashes I have used in the past, tho it is much more affordable. The only thing I might add is that although the end clip does have a swivel for 360 degree function (to keep the leash from getting tangled or knotted), it doesn't tend to swivel freely in practice. Consequently, if my dog is running circles around me, the leash can get quite a few twists in it, which I easily remedy by rotating the leash handle a few times. Perhaps the swivel is designed to allow the leash to be retracted without getting jammed, but it doesn't mean the leash doesn't get twisted. Still, it hasn't been a problem and TUG appears to be a great product at a great price.

Smooth and well designed!

Well designed! Comfortable to hold and very smooth operation. The temporary lock is very easy to lock, which I could see being very helpful to anyone with weak hands or arthritis. The hold lock feature is smooth as well, easy to manipulate. The leash is allowed to extend and retract in a wide array of angles without binding which has been a great feature for our use.

This should be a top choice for a leash

Much bigger than i thought it was going to be but feels very sturdy and well built. Works great on my 88lb yellow lab. The packing was great as well. I would ventre to say for this price this should be most peoples choices for a leash. 7/6/18 update - held up well but my dog chewed through the leash cable. He does that when im not walking him fast enough. He did this multiple times before it finally broke after months of use. Not upset and bought another.

Great leash!

This leash is working great. Our dog is a bit wild and can really put stress on her leash, so I tend to replace them after a year or two rather than wait for a leash to fail. The strap on this is wider than her previous leash, so I feel more confident it will hold up to her antics. I am 6' 4" and have pretty large hands. The handle is big enough for me to comfortably hold the lease without my fingers getting cramped, even with winter gloves on. The angle of the handle makes it very easy to restrain her without stressing my wrist. The brake button is larger than any leash I've previously used, and is very easy to use.

After my last Flexi-leash broke (two of them broke within a year), I got a bit frustrated with the company when they wouldn't do anything about it and they never even answered a query. So, I went on the search for another leash and thought I'd try the TUG brand. WOW - am I ever glad I did! Compared to Flexi - it is a little bit heavier. But it seems to be made so much better. They really focused on balance and how it fits into your hands (very comfortable to hold) and they have the "leash" part go all the way down - it doesn't change to the thinner material like most other brands do. I highly, highly recommend TUG for a well-made leash that it built to last!

All I can say is this thing is awesome. I was in the market for an affordable retractable leash and this thing delivered. Nice solid construction. No problem with my 50lb lab pup. Super intuitive controls, doesn't snag like others seem to, and the price is right on.
