My search has finally ended!!! I have the most difficult feet with a narrow foot, narrow heels, high arches and wide at the toes. I’ve had Solomon hiking shoes in the past but after 5 years of wear and tare I tried to order the same shoe only to discover they were discontinued. Since then I’ve tried other Solomon’s, Hokas, NB, Tevas and an array of others, thank Heaven I could return all back to Amazon within a weeks time. Then I ran across these last week, great reviews!! I received my Solomon’s today and went for a 2.5 mike hike with the dogs. Oh my......my feet haven’t been this happy in almost a year. Love the laces on these shoes because I have arthritis in my hands and find it difficult to lace up shoes. My feet remained cool, steady on the gravel and rocks, the heel fit snug around mine while the arch support was fantastic! I ordered a size 9 which is my regular size and they were a perfect fit meaning I had room to wiggle my toes due to the wide box. I just ordered my 2nd pair. I know we all have different feet with different problems and not every shoe will work for everyone but these shoes just might do the trick so give them a try, I’m so glad I did.

Honestly - these are THE GREATEST trail shoes I have ever owned! I've run in them on the trails (never on road) for over a month through snow, rain, mud, heat, humidity, etc. and here are the highpoints of running with this shoe: 1. No "break in" period. Shoes fit great from day one without any blisters or hot spots. 2. Perfect feel with the ground - cushion level is just the right amount. 3. Amazing grip on the ground - not afraid of slipping or sliding up or downhill or on muddy inclines or declines. 4. No worries about untied laces - shoelaces stay exactly where you clamp them 5. Light - perfect weight 6. Clean well 7. Improved my running time from being sure-footed through trails 8. I LOVE THESE SHOES!!!!

Love these! Always have some kind of foot pain when I run or go on a hike. Blisters, arch pain, you name it. Went on two 6-7 mile hikes with these Salomons and no pain so far. I was also less tired! It’s almost too weird because I’m so used to feeling some kind of foot and ankle pain, dealing with my poor feet after a workout. Great traction. I have weak ankles but the traction is so good I didn’t need to get a mid hiking boot. However, looking into Salomon boots anyway for future longer hikes. These are perfect for short day hikes. My feet are super happy about this purchase! Background: I have semi wide feet with high ankles, neutral/med-max cushion. Sz 6 1/2 but I went up half a sz to 7 and they were perfect.

I tested these out on a 13 mile trail along Mt. Hood (part of PCT), 6 miles of which was spent running. The shoe laces stayed in place (was a little worried, since I'm not used to those kind of laces) and my feet seemed to love the shoes. No blisters, no aches. Would definitely recommend!

I love this shoe for rugged trails. I like the hard padding feature but other may not. The bottom padding is very hard, for me I run through water and mud it's nice that it doesn't act as a sponge soaking in all the water and mud. I think it also keeps me from feeling the pointy rocks. I also love the laces for this shoe, it's my favorite thing about this shoe. Once I tighten my shoes they stay in place for my entire run. I've run up to 30 mile races and never had my shoe come loose. As dirty as I get my shoes to it's nice not to have to tie and untie laces. In my picture the pink pair of shoes is the ones I just bought. My old shoes, the purple ones, probably have at least 600 miles on them maybe more. I put the old shoes in the photo so you can kind of see how they wear down. Eventually they get holes where my pinky toe goes on the side. As well as the back of the shoe where my heel is. the wearing in the back of the heel never gave me any discomfort but the holes on the side cause too many small rocks to get into the shoe. Overall I think they held up pretty well considering what I put them through.

These may have been designed as trail runners, but they are my go-to shoes for the gym. I wore a toe-hole in the mesh in an earlier model and wanted to get Salomon again because they fit so well. I need a true Medium width with a rounded toe-box that has enough but not too much room there, while having a snug fit at the heel. These shoes fit the bill. The X-Mission color combo I got is nice but a little bit louder than I expected from the photo, so I just make sure to wear neutral color gym clothes with the shoes so nothing clashes!

I am a fan of Salomon for life, now. These are perfectly sturdy and supportive for running on trails, and the trails I run are no joke. Roots, rocks of all sizes, packed mud, slippery mud, etc. These shoes take it and my feet are always just fine after. I ordered a medium width because that was all that was offered, but my wide feet are just fine in them. There was no breaking in required - the first day I took them up to the trail they were ready to go. I have some Adidas trail shoes I thought were great, but they are a little more flexible and maybe not quite as protective on the rocks as these are. These are the big guns.

I was looking for a shoe that could really do the job of multiple pairs of shoes. I wanted something that I could use on the trails or in the gym. I've had foot surgery on my right foot and need a shoe that offers cushioning, support and a toe box that isn't overly constricting. This shoe fit all the criteria right out of the box. It's a bit bigger/roomier in the toe box than I anticipated, but not to the point that it's sloppy or "too big". I don't think ordering down a half size would have been a good idea as it likely would be too tight overall in that case. The shoe fits very snuggly through the heel into the arch. The quicklace system was easy to use. I loosened it up through the whole foot before I put them on for the first time and then pulled each loop as snug as I wanted and then compressed the clasp down and tucked the excess into the hand dandy pocket in the toe of the shoe. The pocket isn't difficult to use either in inserting or withdrawing the lace. I took the shoes on and off a couple of times to see if I needed to loosen the whole thing to get it off, and I don't. I do loosen it a bit to put it on but I'm sure that's personal preference not a requirement. I walked and ran on the road with these on and they felt great. My foot didn't slid around or having any pressure points. They weren't the lightest running shoe in the world as they are made to withstand trails, but for a trail shoe they are light. They have good grip on the pavement that made me feel stable. My shins didn't hurt, my feet didn't hurt and I am going camping this weekend and can't wait to hit the trails with these to see how they grip on loose rock and boulders. I might even buy a second pair of these to keep the "trail shoe" and "running shoe" separate as using them a lot outdoors will get them pretty dirty. On a cosmetic level, the shoe makes my feet look kinda big maybe due to the realllllly bright colors and bulky sole. I don't care, but if that's a big deal to you, it isn't a streamline, low profile shoe at all.

I needed to replace my ripped up, worn down Brook 9s. I'm an underpronator with very high arches, and needed something with as wide a toe-box as my 9s. After much research and ordering a LOT of shoes through Prime wardrobe, I decided on these for everyday wear and a pair of Saucony Ride 10 Wides for the gym (I wanted the GTX version of those, but couldn't find them in wide). These are heavier than the Saucony but have better protection from the elements...not totally waterproof, but I can wear them out in a light cold rain without cursing myself for not wearing my boots. And the toe box is great! Just as roomy as the Saucony wide. Something about the insole is a bit weird...stiff in the wrong places. BUT I was able to fix this very easily by using the insoles from my Brook 9s, which fit perfectly and are already formed to my feet. And the no-tie feature is kind of nice...saves from double knotting anyway. :-)

I had a friend who has a pair of Salomon trail shoes and she always raved about how comfortable they were and I also thought they were pretty cute as well. Fast forward this year, my friends and I were traveling to Japan and S. Korea so I wanted comfortable walking shoes and I thought I would give these a try and boy was I right. Not only were they comfortable, they were durable, and made walking so much easier. Where my friends struggled in their cute sandals and slip on shoes I could talk for hours if I needed to. They're easy to put on and take off (especially at the airport). One may think they are pricey but they are worth the investment. I already have three pairs of Salomon shoes and I may be a loyal customer for life.
