It does more than you could believe...

The first thing that as a customer, I would need to know, is that the customer service at Ashley Software is amazing. They will write back and forth in emails at any time. I never had to get on the phone with them. I was looking for a software that would allow me to write bits and pieces out of sequence, and then move these parts around until they were sequenced; i.e. dream journal. When I recieved the software, it was jaw dropping as to what it can do. You can make "note cards" that are note card size, or chapters long. You can print them. In the end these note cards can be turned into a document. You can make these blocks/note cards something that can be saved to a template, such as for a sales agreement, and then be able to write blocks around these blocks to incorporate newer informarion, or information that is specific to a particular item. It can write novels, research papers, screen plays. It has a smart dictionary that will learn names. You can make a list of most frequently used words, sich as Pharmaceutical...you don't want to type this ten times, so you have it recognized by the 4th letter, and it will be automatically selected. There is a "power bar", which is a double of a writer's blocks block. It has a setting that makes it "always on top". With this feature, you can browse the web for reliable facts. You can make a fact box by cut&pasting your selected data, and then copying the URL to later create a proper works cited, works consulted or bibliography page. I wish I had this tool 25 years ago!! It is for a mind that needs to "get it all out" first, and organize later. I am thrilled with this software. *A note on the item packaging. It is a key card only. The picture indicates this, but it can be confusing when you get the folder in the mail; there is a place for a CD. Disregard this space. The company makes all kinds of software and uses the same packaging. Also, if it seems used, as mine did...not shrink wrapped, and the round sticker was dirty and not wrapped over the two sides... this is most likely due to wearhouse storage at Amazon. I tweaked thinking it was used. Knowing that customer service is fantastic, try to register the product. If you have trouble at that point, contact Ashley Software and they will work things out. They do have a wepage where you can try the product first. 😎

Gold for writers

I owned a previous version of Writers Blocks and this new version has some very nice updates. Over all, Writer's Blocks has proven to be a great way for me to organize my thoughts, you might say - creating order out of chaos. It would probably be a waste of time for an "organized" writer; but for all the rest of us, it's a real blessing, and you have to learn how to use it instead of fight it..
