Surprised It's So Good

It was weird that the whole thing didn't stick to the screen--it has little adhesive tabs that you manually stick to the four corners then stick it on the screen. It fit really well, and I didn't think it provided that much privacy; however, when I got to class all my friends said "Your screen is black" and literally couldn't see the screen. So I am pretty satisfied. I was worried that the keyboard protector wouldn't work because the keys on the new macbook pro are sooooo flat, but it fits really well and I'm so glad it came as the free gift.

Good privacy filter at reasonable price.

This filter has 2 sides, glossy and matte. Installation with the matte side out is very easy. It will stick by itself on the screen. By applying it starting from one edge and working it towards the opposite edge makes it a breeze to ensure no air bubbles get trapped. The filter is cut very precisely and is a perfect fit. Installation with glossy side out requires the use of supplied dual side adhesive tape. This ends up with a non flush filter, and dust starts collecting in between the gaps relatively quickly. I do not recommend this side unless you absolutely need a glossy screen. Either way, the filter causes the screen to have a weaker magnetic force when closed. It is not a problem on the computer is flat on the desk, however, when it is in vertical tent mode, the screen/lid does not stay closed. Although the filter does not block the screen 100%, it is effective enough to not be worried about unwanted eyes from people sitting next to you in the plane, train, or at a coffee shop. Just like any other privacy filters i've used so far, micro RGB pixel artifacts are visible which is inherent to how polarization works. The package also includes a thin transparent keyboard protector. Due to the very shallow key travel of the new macbook pros, it is virtually impractical to type. I'd rather the company skips it, and pass the savings to a lower filter price, which will be of much greater value. Overall, this product is still one of the best privacy filters out there, high quality material, and precise fit.

Other brands don’t compare! This is easy and WORKS!

I’ve tried so many privacy screens now and this one is absolutely the best! It came the same day I ordered it and installing it took less than a minute. I didn’t even need instructions and I’m far from a techy person! I’ve tested it with my classmates and none of them can see my screen. I love it!

Great for privacy enthusiast

Works very well at denying any on looker from peaking at your screen (should they be out of the angle of viewing, so someone behind you will still be able to see your screen). Application is pretty simple, you don't actually have to apply it like a traditional screen protector, as you simply apply some double sided tape to adhere it to the screen. I will warn that it may cause eye strain to some, but that is purely due to how the privacy screen works, and is very dependent on the person. So I would suggest trying out a cheaper option for maybe your phone to see if your eyes don't agree with the polarization of light. The only thing that would make this item better is if a) the double sided tape was cut a little thinner so you can apply it on bottom bezel without having to go onto the screen (you can't really see it, but it would just make things cleaner), and b) give a few more packs of the double sided tape, as I can see a reason to take it off and on and I'm sure the stickies will go bad, and I don't know if they sell the stickies directly.

Best eye protection screen I've seen, and I've most.

This screen protector really helps relieve eye strain, more so than any other screen protector I've used. I get chronic migraines and my eyes are super sensitive. Before this I had layered three anti glare screen protectors on my computer. It really does block out blue light, which helps eye strain a lot. It also looks polarized, so you cannot see the screen when looking from the side, meaning people to your side cannot see the screen. This is great privacy protection. Personally I wish it wasn't quite so polarized though, as the sides of the screen are very slightly blocked when your head is in the center of the screen. Moving my body towards each side of the screen makes it clear up. This is a slight effect though, but does make the sides seem just a bit less clear than the center of the screen. I still gave the product 5 stars though, because it is in fact the best screen for my eyes that I have ever seen. It is put on with little tabs on the corners of the screen. I thought this might not work well or not be flush, but not so. It fits into the screen nicely and does not protrude. So I do not think this is a drawback. In fact it could be a good thing as there are no bubbles. While I'm talking about eye strain, I will recommend a program for your computer called f.lux. This is free and also helps the computer block blue light. The combination of this screen protector and that program really have helped me be able to use the computer even when my eyes are very sensitive. I'm using this combination now as I type. As a bonus I got a thin keyboard protector. I thought I would throw this away, but actually I now use it. Its so thin, that I hardly notice it. It also has the added benefit of quieting down my fairly noisy Macbook Pro 2017 laptop. This is a nice bonus.

I’ve so far used it for a couple of week and super happy with it

I had magnetic privacy screen for my 15” MacBook Pro that scratched over short period of time and was also thick enough to not let the MacBook close completely. Then, I came across this product and ordered it. I’ve so far used it for a couple of week and super happy with it. It flushed completely within the recessed area of the display so MacBook closes without any issues, also it’s super clear when looked at directly from the front and as you go off axis, completely hides the screen. I asked others sitting right next to me to tell me what’s on the screen and they couldn’t. I’m very happy with it and in fact let few of my other colleagues know about this as well. Very well made product! Also the keyboard protector comes in handy as it suppresses the click sound and also protects it from debris/ dust particles etc. One thing to note though, it connects through double sided tapes - so once you attach, its advisable to not frequently remove. I’ll be keeping it attached to the screen all the time. Net: amazing product, does the job 101% well. Highly recommended.

The best among available options

First, this is NOT a paid review. Now, that we have that out of the way; I didn't have high hopes for this privacy filter/screen given how widely some of the reviews vary. I decided to take the plunge anyway, and have come away pretty happy with my experience. The privacy filter/screen works pretty well; as mentioned in the description - the matte side facing outward provides the best privacy (vs. the glossy side facing outward). That said, the glossy side - when facing inward towards the screen, tends to stick to the screen, creating unsightly air bubbles. Note that I don't mean to say that it sticks permanently; its more along the lines of a static "cling". I hated that look, so I have mine configured to glossy side facing outward, and I'm okay with the slightly reduced filtering. Also note - this one's pretty obvious - that you will need to turn the brightness of the screen up to see clearly (again, this is would be the case with ANY privacy filter/screen). My use case for this privacy filter/screen is only during travel; so I'm perfectly happy with my purchase (the person in the seat next to me would be able to see very little, if at all) . Finally, I tried out a bunch of 3M filters prior to purchasing this one, and so far, this has been the best one in the lot.

The privacy of the screen is TOP notch. Nothing more annoying than someone trying to read your laptop on an airplane. And it comes with a gift Keyboard Cover TPU case skin. I hate to spill over coffee and wonder if my Mac ever work again. That happened to my sister a few years ago.. it was cheaper to purchase a new Mac than to repair a broken one..Whoops..

Perfect fit and easy installation

Pros: - Product fit is nearly perfect for my 15" Macbook Pro w/ Touchbar. - Installation was super easy (4 small stickers that fit into the outer black margins of the screen). - Works exactly as described (prevent worrying over wandering eyes when working in public places). - Matte finish side is a nice option to stop looking at my own reflection in the Macbook Pro's ridiculously glossy screen (but yes, there's a glossy side too). Cons: - Screen brightness is darkened a little bit by using the privacy filter (but this has been my experience with any privacy filter) so far it does not impact visibility meaningfully - The "bonus item" keyboard protector doesn't work great for me personally. It's a perfect fit over the keyboard, but the keyboard itself lacks depth so it has a tendency to slide off when my fast typing becomes aggressive. I think for slower/more careful typists it could be useful.
