Worth the price, the kids love this!

I bought this for my daycare and the children are thrilled especially since it lights up. I also bought books about the planets to read before showing them the globe for the first time. We turn on the lighted base at nap time and if it’s dark enough in the room the light reflects on the ceiling. So far the light works fine. It’s not something for them to play with, we keep it on a shelf. I’m very happy with this item.

Colored light cycles (60 seconds) starting with green, purple etc., etc.. and repeats. Great!

Material very transparent. Each planet seen in vivid color. In fact, the correct number of moons carefully shown (little dots) in appropriate place. The sun and planets appear sized to the correct ratio. Sun largest, then Jupiter, Saturn, etc., etc.. The two gas giants on opposite sides. Reminds viewer that (like guards) they protect earth from extra-solar debris. The set is arranged in two pieces, base and ball. Not attached, but both heavy enough to be stable. One feature - if tiny button pushed on the base - the globe lights up. White light? No! Colored light cycles (60 seconds) starting with green light, to yellow, pink, purple etc., etc.. and repeats until switched off. Marvelous! Feels and looks like a high quality, professional product. Coffee table ready.

Great teaching prop!

This is my second buy of this item. Colors are bright and crisp. I plan to use it to teach my three and a half year old the names of the planet's. All ready knows we live on the blue planet, and the sun and mercury. It is heavy and sits there on the cool crystal like base. I am impressed! Oh! The moon's of each planet are visible!! Did I say I am imptessed?
