I was skeptical about spending so much on a wireless NES controller from a third party manufacturer, but OMG I was so wrong to be skeptical. These controllers work perfectly. I rarely ever have to charge them, they connect as soon as you hit the start button, and they work from really far away. I have a 75" TV so I have to sit pretty far back from it to play comfortably and I've noticed not even a single instance of latency or misfires. this is the controller that the NES should have shipped with! I love that you can access the home screen from the controller too, so you don't have to keep getting up to reset it if you want to switch games. And OMG playing bubble bobble with the turbo buttons makes it so much more fun! How did I grow up without these turbo buttons? Anyway, they seem to be great quality and if you're looking to get wireless controllers for your NES classic edition, I highly recommend this one. I have been using them for over 3 months if not longer, and still not experienced any issues. The battery lasts forever and charges super fast. I guess my only complaint is that it charges via MICRO USB and everything else I own charges via USB-C so I do have to have an extra charger plugged in for these, but that's a really minor gripe. Anyway thanks 8bitdo!

When I was a kid, playing games that required you to constantly and rapidly button mash to shoot, punch, swing your sword, etc. was something that I was ok with. But as an adult, my thumbs just can't continuously hit buttons over and over and over and over like that anymore (I'm looking at you Gradius). Having the turbo buttons on this controller just makes the whole experience playing these games MUCH more enjoyable. The Home button is great too so you don't have to get up and go to the console every time you want to play another game or use a save slot especially since I use save slots pretty often on some of the more difficult games. The wireless feature is nice too even though I didn't mind using wired controllers since I had the extension cables. Would definitely recommend this to anyone with an NES Classic. It allows you to focus on enjoying the nostalgia of the games and not being in pain from having to constantly mash buttons.

Solid additions to your NES Classic that truly allow you to play from a much further distance from the device. I really enjoy the addition of the turbo buttons and the HOME button to allow you to go back to the menu, directly from the controller. Great addition to an already quality engineered controller. It feels like the original NES controller with the exception of the buttons. The buttons are possibly too NEW feeling and don't press-in like my original controllers. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase of two controllers.

This has no lag (even compared to the wired controllers I was using with extensions) and was more comfortable and better build quality than other, more expensive controllers I'd used. I tested the signal and I went 25 feet away, 2 rooms away and I could still hear Kirby sucking air in when I pressed B. Turbo buttons work great. And best of all...the "home" button works as advertised and is compatible with Hakchi! Buy this controller. Stop looking for a controller. This is the one you want.

Like others, I just got it today and it's the absolute perfect companion for the NES Classic. With the NES Classic's notoriously short controller wires, most players will want a wireless controller and this one's terrific. No lag, two turbo buttons, and extremely comfortable. I can't speak to the battery life yet--of course--but based on other 8Bitdo products I own, I have no concerns that battery life will be terrific. I also have the NES30 plus the Bluetooth adapter so that I can operate it with the NES or SNES Classics, but that combination is much more expensive and the button layout isn't as natural for playing NES games. Why are you still reading this? If you have an NES Classic, BUY THIS CONTROLLER!

So far, so good. I've experienced no noticeable lag, the controller feels great in my hands, the buttons make that satisfying click like a brand new old-school controller should, and the addition of turbo buttons are a nice touch. But we all know the best feature by far is the dedicated Home button. Instead of having to lean over and hit the reset button on the NES Classic every time I want to switch games, all I do is press the tiny button right above the Select button, and I'm right back to the Home screen. Why this wasn't a feature of the NES/SNES Classic controllers I'll never know. But it makes the NES Classic just that much more enjoyable. Time will tell if this stands up to more play time. But for the hour I just used it, I loved it. Now, to test it and see if it works on other devices...

I am going to focus solely on the the N30 2.4G Wireless Gamepad. For comparison, I own the NES classic, SNES classic, 8bitdo SNES classic controller, other earlier 8bitdo controllers (Bluetooth). Conclusion: Perfect for wireless gaming for the NES Classic using 2.4G wireless technology with the same layout as the original controller with virtually no additional lag. Potential downside is a stiffer D pad (positive to D pad - no accidental diagonal presses like prior 8bitdo controllers) and stiffer/clickier buttons (unless you like this feel). Probably 4.5 stars overall but will round up to 5. Even works on raspberry pi 3 with the USB cable!!! Design: The overall size and design of the controller is almost identical to the original controller. The D pad and A/B button and start/select are in the identical positions as the original. The black buttons above the red A/B are for turbo. There is also a home button which is identical to pushing the reset button to save a game or to go to a new game. The overall weight is light. Connectivity: After plugging in the controller receiver and pressing start, then controller instantly paired, no problems there. It is 2.4 wireless and therefore (as far as I know) can only be paired to the receiver that fits into the NES or SNES classic. The color of the receiver is the same as the one that came with the 8bitdo SNES wireless controller which can make it difficult to tell apart. Functionality (what everyone cares about): To test the device I played an entire playthrough of Megaman 2, Castlevania, Super Mario Bros, Super C, and Punch Out (up till Machoman knocked me out). I am slightly sensitive to lag and these controllers did not feel like they added any discernable lag compared to the original controllers. Buttons: The buttons are stiffer than the original but have a clickier feel to them. The click feel to the button is a better feedback but I found it slightly harder in games like Megaman when I had to mash. This made a game like Castlevania a little easier that required more precision button pushing. I did try out the turbo buttons which works as advertised but overall I am a purist when it comes to avoiding turbo buttons. It is important to know the A/B sit in the exact position as the original controller so they do feel natural whereas the turbo sits higher. D PAD: This is where I had mixed feelings about the gamepad. The D pad sits higher off the surface of the controller and you have to push harder to push down a direction. I was pleasantly surprised that the D pad did not have the issue with accidental diagonal pushes. If you have played Super C or contra, then you can understand this issue - example: pushing down to lay on the ground and instead you run diagonally into an enemy or bullet (I had this problem using the 8bitdo SNES wireless controller). I found it slightly harder on my thumb than the original after playing for awhile. Start/Select: Obviously these buttons do not seem like that big of a deal but if you are an avid Megaman fan then you know how important they really are. The buttons feel and press like the original. I had no trouble quickly changing weapons in Megaman 2. Home button: This is a much welcome addition, it easy to press but I never hit it accidently. It quickly brings you to the home screen to save a game. In the previous model (SNES), you had to press select and down which are buttons that sometimes mess up your game if you press them and they have commands in the game. This button is great when for interruptions in the middle of a level especially if there is no pause in the game. Battery Life: I have played for over 2-3 hours on the original charge and it still has not needed charging. Update 8/21/18: I have tried the controller on a raspberry pi 3 on retropie using the USB cable. The controller works flawlessly. The TB/TA (turbo buttons) act as a true turbo repeater button rather than mapping to new buttons. This is great for other games/systems that use the same controller format.

I think the headline says it all. But nevertheless, I'll say a little more. We bought the Nintendo classic for christmas, and were sorely disappointed at the 3' cord. (WHY?!!) so we initially bought a wireless controller for sale at Best Buy. Turns out that controller was stupid - the buttons were in the wrong place - making all the classic games you were good at all of a sudden be like games you were terrible at. Because the buttons weren't lining up. So then add to that the store bought controller didn't have a home button. Enter 8BItdo controllers. Flawless. The exact same size and shape of the original controller. For most games, they feel the same. And turbo you say? Yes! It works about the same as the NES Max turbo function. There when you want it, but not in the way when you don't. Then, on top of all that, you have a home button. No more getting up walking across the room to hit reset just to get back to the main menu. Why the controller that came with it, or other controllers made for it don't have this, I can't figure out. These 8bitdo controllers are excellent. Batteries last forever when charged - no communication issues. If you are on the fence about what wireless controller to buy for your NES classic, BUY THESE. Don't buy any other garbage, these are the ones you want.

I received a couple of these controllers on launch day, and I couldn't be happier with them! They paired instantly, and I have no noticeable lag when playing. I had previously tried controllers from a couple different brands, and they had all kinds of issues with pairing, keeping a connection, and I didn't like that they didn't look for feel like NES controllers. These controllers have the right weight, shape, and feel that's part of the whole retro NES classic experience. It's also great that these charge with a normal Micro-USB, so you don't need to have rechargeable AA or AAA batteries on hand. Best of all, you're not tethered with an impossibly short cable that comes with the stock NES Classic controller. If you're looking for wireless controllers for your NES Classic, these are the ones. Spend the extra $10 or so and get these, you'll save yourself time and returns!

I love these controllers. They work well and feel great. Pros: - Feel just like the original NES controllers - Zero lag wireless connection - Easy to connect - Auto shutoff after 15min - Good battery life. I play about 2-3hrs/week, and it lasted 2 months. So about 20 hours on a single charge. - The additional Home and turbo buttons come in handy Cons: - You turn it on with the Start button. This is a mild nuisance since if the NES Classic is already on, the Start button will start whatever game is currently selected. I get around this by turning the controllers on before the NES. - No built-in way to identify controller 1 and 2. I had to put a piece of tape on one of them. Using the existing LEDs to identify P1 vs P2 would have been nice.
