I wanted to purchase a small heavy-duty 5-foot garden hose to quickly clean around my small balcony, and this Giraffe hose was on the Amazon's Choice list (highly rated, well-priced products). I have used cheap expandable garden hoses in the past, and I loved them. However, I found them to break too easily and only last about one season. I wanted something that would last longer! When the Giraffe hose arrived, I saw it was made very well, and I could see this product lasting a very long time. The ends of the hose looked like it had great sealing, and it had incredible ergonomic plastic grips to make twisting on/off an outdoor water spigot very efficient. This is definitely a 5/5 product as far as garden hoses go. Unfortunately, I had to return it because it didn't fit my exact requirements. This is not due to the manufacturer's fault, and I will share why. My main reason for returning it is because I have purchased these garden hose holders from Gardzen that literally hang from my outdoor water spigots (faucets). I really like these because I could easily wrap my garden hoses around them when not in use, and they keep everything neat and tidy. I especially loved them with my expandable garden hose setups from before. My issue with the Giraffe hose is that the ergonomic plastic grip (although amazing) makes the end of the hose very long and rigid and my setup becomes unusable. I am not able to twist the hose onto my outdoor water spigots because the mount gets in the way. It makes me wish that either the hose grips weren't so long or that the garden hose holder was bigger to give more leeway for the hose connection. This has nothing to do with Giraffe products itself. So, although their hoses didn't satisfy my requirements, they are very well-made and seem like they will last a very long time. To compare Giraffe hoses with expandable hoses though, I personally like expandable hoses better (if they lasted longer). Expandable hoses are much lighter, shrink down when not in use, and they never kink. The Giraffe hose is amazing when comparing with other heavy-duty garden hoses in their respective category, but their maneuverability is quite low compared to an expandable garden hose. If Giraffe made an expandable garden hose with brass fittings and shorter ergonomic grips in variable sizes (5 ft, 15 ft, 25 ft, 50 ft, and 100 ft), they would be my favorite hose company of all time! I don't think I can change back to a normal hose after experiencing expandable water hoses (even if they don't last as long). Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

Being a long time, old school, avid gardener I uses hoses all day long. I know the value of a good hose. This is one of the best hoses I have ever purchased. It is exactly as the manufacturer describes. Very strong, light weight, and super supple.....even in cold weather. Seems to be very durable and will last many years of hard use. The male and female hose ends are solid and easy to use. Older gardeners with sore joints will not have a problem tightening or loosening this hose. I have tried many different hoses over the years and I will definitely be purchasing more.

*****UPDATED REVIEW **** I RECIEVED A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT THAT WAS PART OF A LESS THAN 1% FLAW IN MANUFACTURING. The representative reached out many times through email and took EXTRA steps to go above and beyond to make it right!! I would recommend this company and product because they go the extra mile to satisfy their customers!! They definitely stand behind their product!!!!! ***RECOMMENDATIONDED***!!!!

I have to say I love the ends of the hose. They are easy to hook up. But this hose came with 3 or 4 kinks that I can't seem to get out. It's not easy having to fight with it when I want to water. Maybe the sun heating up the hose will help, I don't know. Pretty disappointing. UPDATE: I returned this hose and and they replaced it. The new one works great!!! And my favorite part is still the ends. Soooo easy to hook up

I bought a 50-foot length of the giraffe garden hose hybrid and recently ordered another fifty-foot length. It is the best hose I have ever owned because 1) the couplings have a rubber sleeve that grips the metal end connections so that you can screw the hose sections tightly together with little effort or couple it to the faucet just as easily. If you have struggled before trying to tighten two hose sections or put rubber washers inside the couplings so the two sections won’t leak, you will understand how perfect the fit of the giraffe hose is and how little strength it takes to attach the hose to another length or the faucet with zero leaks. It saves water! 2) the heavy duty material that the hose is made from is pliable without being hard or brittle and stiff. I believe it will outlast cheaper hoses and give me value added over the life of the hose. It is the best hose system I have ever owned.

I am using this hose for all purpose residential home owner landscaping needs. I had been searching for a hose that was durable, flexible, of modest weight and easy to handle and store. This hose is easy to carry and easy to coil. It is reported to be friendly to performance in cold weather. I ordered my second hose (front lawn, back lawn) after experiencing the ease of use qualities I have noted .

I am pleasantly surprised with this hose. The water flows freely and it hasn't kinked on me either. The brass attachments are also strong and there is a rubber grip at the end of the hose to make it more comfortable to hold.

I have a splitter on a faucet. On one side I have an expanding hose. On the other, I needed a short hose to fill water buckets without having the annoyance of waiting for the expanding hose to expand, & wait for the bucket to slowly fill from the spray nozzle I always leave on the end. and then wait for the hose to empty, and having to coil the long hose back up again. I had used an old hose which blew out one one end & used a utility knife to cut the other end to 3’ for many years. It worked, but this is is so much nicer & I especially like being able to safely fill (lead free) my dog’s water bowl when she’s outside with me. Brass ends, heavy housing, perfect diameter for a speedy fill. I wouldn’t change a thing. Wish I’d have bought this years ago.

I wanted to take advantage of a dual hot/cold water faucet in my basement located next to my washing machine. I needed to be able to fill a mop bucket without having to carry it down a flight of stairs. I have three cats which can make the stairs difficult to navigate even under the best conditions! I went to the local hardware store but could not find what I was looking for. I did not want to battle 25 feet of garden hose every time I filled my mop bucket. I found this well-constructed hose with superior fittings cut to the ideal length I was looking for. I was happy to see it was also rated to handle hot water. After I found this item, I was able to quickly find a mixing hose and a simple nozzle that fit the ends!

Amazingly light and does not kink for a 100 ft hose! One problem I had was the 5/8 in. hose washer that came with it that leaked when making the connections. Either I put it in wrong or had to go with a correct hose washer for the connections. Hose washers are not meant to last forever and I replace them ever couple of years after disconnect/reconnect many times. I love the wrench built-in feature.
