good starter
I think this is a great starter guitar. Totally got it based on reviews and I liked the price. I feel it pays well and stays in tune (after you break the strings in) It's a good guitar by 6 year old can grow into. Definitely recommend.

Exactly what I was looking for
I don’t play guitar as often as I’d like anymore so was looking for something easy to grab on the fly. My fingers aren’t calloused enough for playing my acoustic for any long length of time and my electric is too high maintenance to set up. This guitar is perfect. I am a 5’7’ female with long fingers yet this fretboard feels like a full size to me. The sound is good enough. Great value for the price!

Great Value
Beautiful sound, easy to tune. Have been using for my 7 year old to learn guitar but I (petite female) am able to play it as well. Can't speak highly enough of this instrument!

Great choice
The product arrived on time as promised. It arrived in its own box which was inside a bigger box. The guitar itself was in good shape, no scratches, no dents, no areas without the finish. I bought it without the bundle. This is the Yamaha student series 3/4 sized guitar with nylon strings. I'm a senior, 5'2", with fairly small hands. I had a full sized guitar which I have not used in 35 years. Check my photos and see the difference in size between a full sized and a 3/4 sized guitar. I wasn't sure if the 3/4 size would suit me but I started playing and it was comfortable to play. I stopped playing for 35 years due to my studies and career but now that I'm retired, I like to play a bit everyday. I'm not a guitar professional, but a lay person who is learning how to play again after many years. The Yamaha brand is well known and a friend who's a music teacher advised me to buy a Yamaha so here I am. The guitar itself appears to be well constructed with an even glossy finish. A string or 2 needs to be retuned everytime I play it. Hopefully, in the long run, it'll stabilize and I won't have to. I recommend this product to those who like tinkering with a guitar during their golden years, to those who travel with their instrument, and to young people learning to play the guitar for the first time.

Great quality and great value. Highly recommended!
I got this for my boy who had been taking lesson for 2 yrs (1/2 size) and needed a bigger size. He's been using this for 3 years now, and it still sounds wonderful and still a good size for him. (He is 11 now). Maybe will need a step up in size soon. But this one had served us great for all these yrs.

is much better. I never really cared for full sized guitars
Bought this (1/2 size) originally as a travel guitar, but find that I am playing it almost exclusively now. It probably doesn't have the volume to project for a performance, but for personal play, there isn't a big difference in the sound from a full sized. The feel, is much better. I never really cared for full sized guitars, from the way it made my body torque, to the tension in my left hand. This is just *so* much more comfortable to play. I'm done with full-sized guitars - if I ever want to get another guitar, I'd go for a higher quality 1/2 or 3/4 size, but this is good enough.

Very nice beginner guitar
I got this guitar for my daughter to learn with. She loves it, and I have to say that this guitar blows my first 3/4 classical from 30+ years ago out of the water. It's been a blast for me to sit and play as well. For a young beginner, you can't go wrong with this instrument. I got the Cordoba 3/4 Size Deluxe Gig Bag to go with it and it fits nicely.

Small Party and Campfire Gigs
Why I Bought It: I wanted a guitar to play around for small gigs. I bought it specifically for a friend of mine's small party. I didn't have an acoustic or classical style guitar, so I wanted something cheap but also something that would push sound. The gig called for some jazz/bossa-nova feel that is soft but a bit pungent. This guitar worked perfectly for that occasion. Alot of people buy this for a beginner guitar for their kid or for practice only. I'd say it's great for small performance too. I bet it would hold up in a regular concert too, especially since it has a spruce top and a slick rosewood fret-board. What I Like About It: - Soft and Warm tone, but pushes the sound out with the Spruce Top. - The Neck is extremely soft and smooth, but not glossy. - The body looks gorgeous and the bridge looks tight and fit. What I Don't Like About It: - The tune knobs. The color and plastic is not for me. But they work just fine. - It does have a "cheap" essence to it. - Not gig bag or picks; but did come with strings already on it. Last Remarks & Tips : Get a gig bag for this guitar. It's essential. You won't wanna just lug this thing around getting banged up, it's actually built well. Also, put some new guitar strings on it before you play a show or actually want to sound good. The guitar strings on it are not bad, but there are markings on them from the frets; being packaged up tightly.

Sounds great, easy to play
I wanted to get my daughter something more than the FirstStep guitar we got her when she was 4. That always sounded awful, which made it no fun to play. I wanted something she could actually learn on, and did some research. I have a Yamaha Classical guitar I enjoy playing, but it was too big for my eight year old. I ended up getting the 3/4 size for her instead, and it's still a little too big for her but I didn't want to spend this much now for a 1/2 size and then have her outgrow it in a year. I've actually been enjoying playing it!

Good choice for (young) beginner
At the advice of a salesperson at the guitar shop I had originally purchased a 3/4 size with metal strings for my 7 year old who was starting lessons. At the first lesson the instructor asked me to return it and buy this one for 2 reasons. First, nylon strings are easier for a child/beginner as the metal is a bit "sharp" on the fingers. And second, it's better for to go with a guitar that is too small than too large (it's hard to develop good form when you can't hold it correctly). No question these were good calls, he's doing very well with this guitar and I enjoy playing it as well. Overall the sounds and build quality are excellent.
