I missed the return window by 3 days, and now I'm out the total cost of this kettle. It stopped working less than a month after buying it. It leaks all over the counter. UPDATE: The day after I left the original review, Ovente contacted personally me by email to know that since the pot was under warranty, they would get me a replacement as quick as possible. In addition, the seller contacted me by phone to apologize and insure the process went smoothly. They took an order for a replacement pot, with the color of my choice, and sent a tracking number for the shipment. A few days later, the new pot arrived, and has been working fine ever since. I guess I got a lemon the first time, but they were quick to make sure that I was happy. Changing from 1 to 5 stars on my review.

So I bought this kettle before moving into my dorm in 1st year of university. I read the reviews and expected this kettle to last about a year, which was fine with me as i expected to move after a year to a better place anyways. Fast foward to 3 years later, and my little green beaut is still going strong. She still warms up my water mutliple times a day and shows no signs of slowing down. She has become my best friend. I even have a little painting of her in my room. She gained the name Avocado a few years back. I love her dearly and am not at all disappointed. She smells a bit like plastic on the outside, but has no plastic taste. I plan to update my review when she eventually runs out of steam (lol)

I almost didn't buy this. I kept seeing horrible reviews. Just about every kettle I looked at had a bunch of horrible reviews, though. Smells bad. Stains. Nasty chemicals. Scaring the dog... After all of that bad news, naturally, I bought one. I've had it 4 days. Right out of the box, it smelled just like I would imagine a newly made product of plastic and metal would smell. It wasn't overwhelming and nothing rattled around when I gave it a shake. So I did the vinegar and water thing and let it rest for only about 2 hours (the instruction booklet calls for 5-7 hours, I think) because I'm lazy then filled, boiled and repeated twice with tap water alone. Keeping in mind the reviews, I had 1 cup of tap water boiling as a control and 1 cup from the kettle and when they were cool enough to drink, I tried both and detected no difference. None. I cooled a cup of tap and 1 of kettle in the refrigerator and again noticed no difference in taste. Well, this was disappointing. No warping of the lid and nothing came apart. I almost called the company to complain. The outside of the kettle was very warm after boiling the water. Thank goodness the kettle came with a handle which became only slightly warm so I didn't need oven mitts. We used to have a plastic Proctor Silex kettle that they're still selling here somewhere that worked fine for about 3 years then it got really loud towards the end of the boil and I decided on this. I like the 360 swivel on this one for some reason and of course, the light is very pretty if you need boiling water in the dark. But I'll never use it. My girlfriend, on the other hand, who knows nothing of my testing, uses this twice every morning for her fancy tea shoppe teas that have names like Margaret's Hope and Keemun. Women. ;) She loves the kettle and reports that the water tastes wonderful. I'll update if it malfunctions or causes my house to become haunted.

I never review something until I have used it sufficiently to have an empirical opinion. That said, this Ovente has been a staple in our tea-drinking kitchen for the last 13 months.....used daily, sometimes several times throughout the day. Extremely reliable. Heats water to boiling point, shuts off. No odors, no leaks, no fuss. No complaints. We bought this hurriedly when we needed one, thinking we would after a short while upgrade to something fancier, pricier, maybe more metallic------ and if this were to break, we might do just that. Will it last for years...? Dunno... it's possible. Not a lot to go wrong. But for now? This kettle continues to work perfectly. We're pleased. For the record: Maggie didn't write this review --- I, her somewhat reliable partner, did.

I'd give this 10 stars if I could! It's absolutely the prettiest shade of pink I've ever seen (it's bubblegum pink). It works great, shuts off on it's own and it takes only a couple of minutes to boil a full 1.7 liters of water! This will fill about half a rubbermaid pitcher. The outside never gets even close to warm so it's safe no matter where you grab it. LOVE LOVE LOVE this for making ice tea and hot tea too!.

Im newly homeless as of December 31st and ordered this for myself. It is amazing and handy. No matter where i go, as long as theres a plug outlet i can make my tea, coffee, ramen, oatmeal, and diloot condenced soup. Total money saver too, instead of paying $1.08 three times a day for tea and coffee at the conscience store. Its light weight and easy travel. My only complaint i guess would be that the water is too hot. Just a simple 10 min cool down though. Rather too hot than too cold. And that bright shade of green is my favorite color!

I've been using this kettle for 1.5 yrs, and I'm still satisfied with it. It is easy to use, no metallic taste, and not a bad design. There is no need to spend lots of money on the kettle. The one thing I don't like is it's a bit hard to wash. But if you get the bottle brush, you will be okay. Get this one if you are looking for the affordable kettle with well-functioning product.

I've been wanting to purchase an electric kettle for quite some time, but I never could convince myself I needed it. However, I've recently started using a French press for coffee and decided that definitely necessitated an electric kettle. I chose this Ovente model because of the great price and because it comes in a cute bright green color that matches my decor. But I wanted something that works, not just looks cute. And I have not been disappointed! The kettle seems a bit flimsy when you first hold it. It's plastic and not very heavy. I was a little worried by that, but I trusted the great reviews of this kettle. Using it is a breeze. You simply set up the electric base and plug it in, fill the kettle with the desired amount of water, and flip the switch on the handle. The kettle glows blue while it's warming and clicks off when the water boils. It took probably about 10 minutes filled to the maximum, but the great thing is not having to stand around and watch a pot of water or turn on the stove just to heat a kettle. This sits on my counter and just boils my water without a lot of fuss. The outside of the kettle gets pretty warm but not dangerously so. The water pours quite well, although there can be a little bit of mess when trying to get the very last of the water out. Tipping it over that far messes up the nice, neat stream you get otherwise. But so far, I'm thrilled with this kettle for the price, the convenience, and the cute color. I have used it for coffee and tea and see myself making use of this little gadget everyday.

Soooo very glad I purchased this. The Ovente boils water quickly and shuts off when finished boiling. I read some comments about the button melting on the handle. My recommendation is to unplug the Ovente once your water has finished boiling. Which, is pretty much what I do with all of my small appliances, I never leave them plugged in. The Ovente looks very attractive on my counter.

This is my second purchase of this exact product, both times through Amazon. Love it. The 1st kettle lasted almost 3 years, that is with daily use of boiling hot water, multiple times a day for making tea, coffee, hot cocoa, or adding boiling water to a mid-cooking recipe, or any other household needs like hot water to mop floor, scrub kitchen counters, soak/dissolve greasy pots! Great kitchen electric appliance for the price, and durable. The pot itself is cordless, and the auto shut off button helps make sure that heating coil is not continuously on, wasting energy, if you are not around to use the hot water right away. Heated water to a boiling temperature quickly, every time until its last day, without any glitches.
