Wonky fan configuration. Blow in to not wreck it. Blow in rubs fan on case though.
I like this case a lot, but I have an issue with it. In the photo they show exhaust cooling, however in the instructions they explicitly say to pay attention to the direction shown of the fan which makes the fan a pull. So you are blowing air on the cpu. Well, this is fine, but I wanted to try exhaust first. The problem is with the screws, the mount point sleeves and the fan-case. By doing the exhaust, the fan-case mounting holes slide nicely around the mount point sleeves, but when you screw into it, the screw has to travel most of the plastic sleeve causing these plastic mounts to bulge and remain permanently deformed ever so slightly. While not that big a deal, the problem comes when you want to change direction of the fan. Flipping the fan causes the majority of the screw to run along the length of the fan with only a small portion of the screw tip reaching the plastic mounts. The bulging from prior makes it near impossible now for just the tip to catch that little bit of mounting sleeve available. I managed to get mine to hold, but it’s on by half a thread for at least three screws. Also, when in this blowing in position, the fan part that spins is physically touching the case. They are both smooth, but there has to be friction here. Lastly the fan is loud imo. Forget full speed unless it’s absolutely required. Sounds like a jet. But even at low speed the fan vibration is ok until you put the cover into position on the rest of the case. Then the little plastic inserts that connect it to the housing all vibrate and the sound is amplified. I prefer it if the top of the case is slightly ajar to keep the sound acceptable for a quiet living room. It’s not horrible if you step away, but I found myself trying to identify a rattle in the air only to go, duh. May see what aftermarket options are available for cooling with this case. Just hate that the mount sleeves are minorly trashed now.

Great little case
Great case for the Pi 3+. I purchased three of them in white and really like them. The top cover where the fan attaches is a press-fit... no hardware needed to open or close that part giving you easy access to the pin header. The fan is a nice feature and the kit comes with heat sinks for all three chips. It would probably work fine even without the fan thanks to the heat sinks. The case snaps together and is well molded. The fit is tight with no gaps. The only hardware are screws to hold the Pi and the fan in place. They even give you an extra of each screw in case you lose one! The only caution is that the screws are digging into plastic and the screws/screw posts are small. It is easy to over-torque the screws and strip the post out. You have been warned. Overall a really great case which is my go-to Pi case now.

This product is top notch
I see a whole bunch of negative reviews on this and I'm shocked. My Pi 3B+ dropped in and everything closed up perfectly. The fan effortlessly screwed onto the studs in the lid. There is clean unhindered access to the GPIO pins under the top cover. You can even hook up a ribbon cable but it's a tight fit. You need to plug it in before you put the board in the case. The case is clean and very smoothly manufactured. I gave it a 4 for durability based on initial judgements. I feel it may be a five but I won't rate something that until I've owned it a long time to test said durability. While it advertises a full speed and a quiet mode, this is unnecessary. The fan in high speed is so quiet I can barely hear it if I put it to my ear. Being such a small fan, the CFM is rather low (not a fault of the item but simply the size). I'd recommend you use it on high. The item came with a tiny full color printed installation pamphlet. While I didn't really need it, I thought it was a nice touch. and it showed again where to wire it. I'm pleased with this purchase and would purchase another (If I had another PI)

Nice case, might provide 'just enough' cooling
I just got my first pi 3 B+, to try tweaking the pi a little for retro gaming. I bought this case hoping that a fan would give some more cooling. I did a little benchmarking to test this. I ran the linux 'stress' tool to load the cpu and the glxgeek raspberry pi gl test tool to load the gpu for 15 minutes while watching the temperature and cpu speed with vcgencmd. The Pi had the stick on heat sinks fitted. I first tried the 3B+ in this case with no fan, it rapidly rose to 70 degrees and throttled to 1.2 GHz (from 1.4) and the temperature continued to rise slowly and the cpu thottle unil it reached 80 degrees and 1.1 GHz after 15 minutes. With the fan on at the 5v setting and set to exhaust (label up) the pi still rose fairly quickly to 70 degrees, but stayed there and switched between 1.4 and 1.2 GH for the whole 15 minutes. This is pretty good, but probably not what extreme overclockers are looking for. Though its not the point of this review, the 3B+ with it's heat spreader is a notable improvement. in a comparison to the older 3B. In a similar test in the standard Pi Foundation case, a Pi 3B with heat sinks gradually rose to 84-85 degrees and throttled down to 600-900 MHz. The appearance of the case is clean and simple. The three layer case is an interesting idea, with labeling of all the connectors. I've a few minor quibbles -- the leds aren't visible (a couple of small holes in the case can cure this), the location for the reset pins (for the 3B+) are covered (again the middle layer can be trimmed away), the clips for the top lip would prevent using a full 40 pin gpio breakout cable (but there's space for gpio leads if you are using specific pins). I was thinking of fitting a high-low-off switch for the fan, but its so quiet in the exhaust posiition (it seems louder blowing in) that I won't for now. I'll just leave it on high.

I finally found the perfect Case!!
I have made several cases with my 3D printer for the RPi and just haven't. nailed it. NO MORE. This case is perfect. Heavy duty, rugged. It snaps apart into three different layers making access to the GPIO pins, camera cable attach, etc readily available. All accessory ports are exposed to the outside world without needing to remove the covers. The heat sinks and fan provided are a big plus. The fan is very quiet. This does fit the 3B+, 3B, 2B+ and 2B. I am a customer who purchased this item and did not receive any compensation, in any way, to write this review.

Cool, well labeled, pi case.
Excellent Case! I built a pi-hole device that started heating up a bit in a regular case. the room that it's in isn't the best ventilated. The device overheated once, going well past 60C. It usually hovers in the upper 50's. I thought it was time for a new case. This case was easy to set up. Everything is clearly labeled and comes with all the screws and such that you need. I put one of the included heatsinks in the cpu and set up the fan on full mode (even that is very quiet). It does not go past 41C. I will get this case again for my next pi projects and highly recommend it.

Nice fan, tricky case.
A little tricky for an old guy like me to put together. But well worth the effort. The screws for the top are hard to find... a hint in the docs (there are none!) would help. From the other feedback I have seen, some folks haven't been able to find them. They are screwed into the tops of the four posts... but they look, to an old guy, like a part of the post, not a separate screw. I put the fan on low and it dropped my temps below 50 C... just perfect. One feels a sense of accomplishment by putting it together correctly.

This is a fantastic case. I have no idea what others reviewers ...
This is a fantastic case. I have no idea what others reviewers are saying about this case not fitting a Pi 3B+ with heatsinks on. I just bought a 3B+ and this case in June 2018. It fits the 3B+ perfectly, even using the 2 slightly larger silver heatsinks that come with the 3B+ CanaKit. The fan is near silent using the 3.3v pin.(Pi Pin 1) and Pi Ground (Pi Pin 14). Pros: 1. Case is perfectly molded to the Pi 3B+, well made and sturdy, great airflow design. 2. Case comes with all Pi mounting screws, fan screws and 3 heatsinks 3. For an extra touch, it even comes with 4 silicone rubber bumper feet for the bottom of the case Cons: 1. I could not find one thing to not like about this case. I'm actually going to order another one to replace another Pi's clear acrylic case. Whoever designed this, thought it through; well done.

UPDATED REVIEW - (Nice Case for the RPi 3B - WARNING: Not compatible with RPi 3B+ as of May 22 2018)
UPDATE - NOV 01 2018 Yes. As others have reported this case has finally been updated to support the RPi 3B+. Changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Fits my new RPi 3B+ beautifully. Purchase without fear. ORIGINAL REVIEW - MAY 22 2018 I ordered this case after reading other reviews. I am thankful to those who warned me that this case does not yet support the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ in-spite of the still-posted graphic advertising on Amazon indicating its "New" support for the B+. Even the box had a printed inventory label on the side indicating it was for the RPi 3B+ when the contents clearly indicate otherwise. Regardless of the advertisement - this case only supports the RPi 3B (non-plus) as of the date of this review (May 22, '18) Luckily for me, I was actually looking for an older RPi 3B (non-plus) case. My goal for my RPi 3B was to set it up as a full time network appliance. But I was guessing its workload would generate quite a bit of heat. So, I needed a case that covered 3 features: a cooling fan, decent ventilation (while still being safely enclosed,) and the ability to wall-mount the case with a couple of screws. This met those goals. It really should be a 5-star product, but it missed that mark for a couple of small issues. First - no instructions. Naturally, if you are tinkering with a RPi, you are probably one who is good at figuring things out, so no biggie. But there were enough question-marks in the setup to have warranted a small guide, especially for the fan jumper placements on the GPIO. Second - the black fan jumper is pretty "tall" and it interfered with the one of the poorly-placed plastic clips that retain the top cover. Its not horrible, but the connector is pushed slightly forward on the pin when the top is attached. Third, the fan is really small, and moves minimal air, but it is just enough to give the heat sinks a much-needed boost. Aside from these little issues, and only after 1-day of ownership, I could see myself purchasing another one of these IF/WHEN they actually redesign it for my RPi 3 B PLUS

Great Fit, Great Look, Awesome Case
Received this case yesterday via prime shipping. Showed up right on time as expected. Package was simple and effective. Case assembly instructions are printed right on the box, super simple and effective. The case feels great as far as quality, nice solid construction, pieces fit well together. Nice mat black finish. Now to the important part, does the Pi fit!!! YES fits great. The Pi is attached/held in place by the 4 factory mounting holes on the Pi's PCB with supplied screws that are a perfect fit. Once the Pi is attached the case snaps closed nice and solid and has an access panel that gives a decent amount of room to access the GPIO, display, and camera headers. When the case cover is on looks like there is enough of a gap to run GPIO jumpers or ribbon cables out for a clean setup. Also should mention that the as we Pi users would expect this case has easy access to the SD card slot, requiring no disassembly to remove & replace the SD card. The case top does have the option to install a fan that is included with the case and includes the necessary screws for mounting it. Went on like a charm and doesn't look like it will interfere with any cables attached to any of the headers. Long story short great case, especially for the price point. Will definitely look to get more of these in the future for future Pi projects.
