These lids fit perfectly. It also me to put the jars in the refrigerator when I like the stage of fermentation. It works great on the counter during the initial stages of fermentation. Letting the gas out prevents the juice from overflowing like it has done before. A perfect solution to an aggravating problem. Thanks Siliware.

I have wanted to make sauerkraut for a while now, but the various ways to vent the fermentation seemed troublesome. Either you covered it too loosely which seemed unsanitary, or you put a fiddly and expensive valve on it. These "fermentation lids" solve the problem elegantly. They can be fully sanitized and then you simply put them on the jar full of your cabbage. The fermentation gasses just slowly leak out. There is no odor. The fermentation lids seem thick and durable and ought to last a lifetime. In the photo you can see two of my first 4 quarts of sauerkraut. In a week they will be ready and I will be eating knockwurst!

I'm using them with large mason jars for ginger ale, sauerkraut and salsa. I used to make a giant load of sauerkraut at a time, but I'm finding it more convenient to mix new cabbage with some of the old sauerkraut and pack this in the jar and screw on the little lid. I leave it on the counter overnight, then put it in the fridge. The sauerkraut finishes in the fridge eventually. This is the greatest invention for easy countertop fermentation.

Received the lids in just a few days, can't beat the service. I've used many types of airlocks, most are a PITA. I saw these and thought I'd try a batch. Just wash a set it on the jar. So easy to use and clean it's ridiculous. I will not be using 3 piece plastic airlocks anymore. Love them! I think I will order a few more boxes. Great for pickles or all kinds. It doesn't get any easier than fermented pickles!

Fermenting is healthy and good. These Fermentation Lids make it as easy as it can get. Just fill your jar add a weight and the lid takes care of making it air tight and does the burping for you. Try them, you will like them. Recommend to all that ferment for healthier lives.

These are very simple to use. They provide the same functionality as the brewing airlock type, but are much easier to handle. I’ve restarted making fermented vegetables because my doctor wants me on a low carb, high fiber diet. And I can’t eat chips or peanuts for snacks, or for that matter, drink beer of an evening. Home fermented veggies are just what the doctor ordered.

First time fermenting veggies. Was extremely easy and worked great. All you do is put this in place of the lid. You do not have to squeeze the top. The air will work itself out. Did not have any mold grow on my veggies!! Excellent buy!!

Initially I had a concern that the seller immediately addressed. His follow up throughout this sale has been wonderful. I like the product and am impressed by the seller. If you like fermenting, these lids are easy to use and I like using them rather than airlocks (which do work but these are much easier).

From what I could find, this was the best value at time of purchase. I bought these for making homemade sauerkraut in wide mouth mason jars. I like this idea better as you can see around the container for bubbles. I use the half gallon size, but any wide mouth will work. Pro tip, go to your local Restaurant Depot and get a 5 lb bag of already shredded cabbage and save a lot of clean up time when making sauerkraut. These will start to drip or seep from the top, which is what they should do while in the fermentation process. I set them on a towel in a dark closet. When ever I think of it, maybe once a day I take it to the sink and tip it over and give it a couple squeezed to remove excess fluid. Then put them back in the closet until it tastes right. Then remove this cap and place a plastic cap and place them in the refrigerator. I also bought the weights for this project, very happy with those also.

This makes doing a small batch of fermenting so easy. I have tried numerous products and this is a good one. Very inexpensive, by the way I did not receive any free product or money to make this review. Yes, it is a bit slow in shipping, but overall a great value and product. Fermenting foods is such a fun and healthy thing to do. Love those probiotics the fermented foods give us!
