I just love kinetic sand and the kids love it too! I've bought 3 different kits. One was an off brand and I don't recommend buying any off brands. This is a great deal. 3 pounds of sand is the perfect amount for a child to play with. I wouldn't want any less. The little sand castles are cute, but so far the kids don't care for the little shovels. This is an AWESOME play set!

This is so cool!!! My husband and I have been so mesmerized with this sand. It really does feel like wet sand but isn’t. The clean up is incredibly easy! And it leaves no weird feeling residue on your hands. I thought the sand castles would be too small for my 2.5 year old to enjoy but it’s perfect. Especially for an inside toy, I plan to get many different styles in this. This specific product comes with 3 pounds of sand and I wouldn’t want any less. There IS a play surface include within the box and the sand fits perfectly in there. You can use Play-Doh tools, dump trucks, etc with it and works great! I have a feeling we are going to get hours upon hours with this product. The is my new go to gift for birthdays!

Long Lasting Fun for my 4 Year Old

We purchased this kinetic sand kit primarily due to the amount of sand for the price. It comes in a box that can be folded into a play area to contain the sand. While this does work, it isn't something you can seal to keep the sand from drying out so we have opted to use a cheap Tupperware-style container for storage and playing. The kit comes with some beach toys for use with this sand and my 4-year old daughter loves making things with it. If you are new to kinetic sand and have a toddler, I highly recommend making this purchase. It allows the children to learn and experiment with their creativity and it offers a different option to play doh. As long as you keep the sand sealed up between uses it will not dry out. Once it becomes dry it will start to break apart from the compound that keeps it together and you will start to see sand grains around your table or wherever your children play. Just be aware of that.

Great gift!

I bought this for my 2.5 and 5.5 year old granddaughters for Christmas. Their mother said it was the best gift they received as the girls will sit for over an hour at a time playing with it. Just a heads up, 3# of sand isn't really enough to do much. I bought some flat stacking plastic boxes with locking lids and put 6# in each box. I picked up a couple of sets of molds and tools and added them to a larger box that also stacked and locked. Cleanup is a cinch and there was no fighting over sand or tools/molds.

Good quality fun

I got this sand for my toddler and preschooler and they've had a blast with it! They've been playing with it for about 4 months now, and it's holding up great. It holds together very well, there is no mess, and it's much easier to make shapes out of it with the molds than with regular sand, because it comes out of the mold much easier. With regular sand, when it's wet it tends to stick especially inside the smaller crevices of the sand shape molds. With this sand, you just turn the mold upside down and it comes out clean in one beautiful piece. The molds that come with it are nice, but we also use our regular sand toys with it, and the play dough tools as well. It works well with cookie cutter type shapes, too. It feels very nice handling it, and it oozes down in a very cool way, like some alien creature. I love love love it, and so do my kids!

My kids love this sand!

Honestly, I was very hesitant on purchasing this item because as a mom, the thought of sand in the house made me want to cringe lol. I was looking for something for my sons birthday and I wanted something that was going to hold his attention longer than a few minutes. Well let me say, I am so glad I purchased this! The sand is soft and squishy, making it easy to mold. It slips out of the molds easily and doesn’t stick to hands or surfaces. I even found small clumps of it on the carpet and just bent down and picked it up and put it back in the tub (this item doesn’t come with this inflatable tub, I purchased that separately). Another thing I love about this sand is that it NEVER dries out and constantly stays moist. This is so much fun for kids as well as adults. It’s virtually mess free. Two thumbs up!!

2 year old loves this change of pace.

This is an amazingly relaxing toy for our 2 year old. He says, “I play sand.” It’s a nice change of pace from his other toys and he really enjoys playing with it. The one thing he doesn’t like is that there isn’t EVERYTHING that is on the box in the box. There isn’t a blue bucket or ball. I don’t think that’s false advertising but he takes it very literally. We found a $1 blue bucket at Target to use. He’ll play with it for anywhere from 30-45 mins at a time.

Love it.

Really fun product. Not too steeply priced. The sand is really not messy it only sticks to itself and never seems to dry out which is a plus because you don't have to worry about putting it back in a bag or something. The Box you're supposed to play with it in is a little cheap but that's expected. You can always move it into something more sturdy like I did. Really fun I love this Product.

Kids love it!

My almost two year old and four year old love this stuff! They will play with it for hours, and fight over it lol. And it’s easy to clean up and doesn’t leave a mess. They play with it right in the box it came in.

Fun

I agree with other reviewers, this product is fun and easy to clean. Three pounds is not actually very much sand so I had to buy two to fill a Tupperware, which was a bit expensive. This sand has a grainier texture than the colored kinetic sand you get in the little individual castles; I was hoping the softer texture of the colored sand, but this is still fun to play with. My 2 year old loves playing “sand”, building and smooshing castles, and pretending to dig for dinosaurs.
