Did the trick!

I bought a 13 inch piccolo snare drum. I loved the firecracker pop and the fast response, but not the ringing. It only took one on the batter head to control the ring. I actually like this better than the damper rings.

these suckers really stick well to the drums & are the most non-intrusive dampeners I've found in my 22 years of drumming. I would definately purchase these again & am surprised they aren't more popular.

Like these better than Moongels

I've used Moongels in the past, and while they certainly do the job, I didn't like that they were sticky on both sides, and tended to break down over time, leaving blue goop on the drum. These Makanu dampeners are sticky on one side, and the material seems less gooey, more resilient than Moongel.

I have used dampener rings (which I like) Moongel (which I liked also!) , But these little items are great! Hardly noticeable and dampens overtone rings without smothering the sounds you want! NOW I will see if they stay on the drumheads over time. Been playing drums for 62 years (Still Play!) and realize everyones taste in sounds differ.. personally, I am well satisfied!!

all of these gels dampen but these makanu gels out stick the others hands down. these will stick to the bottom heads on your drums better. they seem to be stronger and unlikely to tear. they're only sticky on one side but you're only using one side. i may revisit this review in a few weeks to see how they hold up.

Good Moon Gel purchase

Perfect moon gels. They stick great and I'm loving the sound my snare gives off with one of these things on there. Absolutely satisfied.

They work and look great.

There seems to be a lot of these on the market of late. I really like these due to there only been one sticky side. Them being clear is also a plus. They look nicer, longer on the drum. Sound wise, they do what they all do. I would like to see Makanu also offer some smaller versions (small round ones possibly) for more options. Of course the larger ones can by cut, but having smaller ones to add 2-3 on a drum would be a nice option to have. Lastly, I like that their product also comes in its own carrying case.

Sounds like a winner

These provide just the right damping for my snare. They are plenty sticky, but easily enough removed (and reaffixed) to a coated snare head. I have never used the name brand 'MoonGels', but these work great and are a lot cheaper.

It has glue only from one side which is an advantage for me cause it won’t get off when using a bag while moongel would be sticking to the bags, looks great on my Evans heads, sound is good. Very useful drum key
