There’s a learning curve to using these as with most cricut machines and accessories. Once you’ve mastered your technique (done by watching dozens of YouTube videos and a lot of trial and error) these mats are awesome. You can never have too many either. I’ve had projects that ended up calling for 15-20 mats sometimes. Sure, you can pull off the paper after each cut and load the next sheet on and do your protects just using a one or a couple mats. But they can get tedious and make cutting your project go 199x’s slower than just swapping out each mat as needed. Buy in bulk if you can. I find having 15 standard, 4 light and 4 strong mats covers pretty much 99.99% of my projects without me having to switch out paper on any mats to move forward. Also- you can wash your mat in the tub with warm water and dish soap to restore stickiness. Keep that in mind before you throw out a mat because it’s not sticky anymore.

Everything you cut with your Cricut machine is going to be placed on a cutting mat. The most used by far is the green mat. This package comes with all three types of 12 x 12 inch mats. I suggest you rotate the paper on the different corners of the mat to conserve stickiness and use the other mats when you need more or less grip. So far, I am a marathon user of my Cricut but after 6 months of ownership and two very intense long cutting sessions, my green mat is pretty used but still usable for maybe one more light project before I replace the green mat. So far I haven't yet used the other grip mats in the package. I suggest having a number of mats on hand though and think this is a good starter purchase with a Cricut machine.

I was so excited to get the blue mat because I have such a hard time with cardstock sticking to the green mat. And now I have a spare green mat! (And purple, but I’ve yet to try that one.) I like to use my old green mat for test projects and random materials, and my new green mat for HTV or vinyl ONLY. I love this variety pack! great deal compared to in-store prices!

I was skeptical about buying this, but for the price I bought it anyway. I pay more than this for one mat somewhere else. I've been using the mat for several days now for my paper projects and I've had no problem. It is very sticky, but if you bend the mat back as you pull off your material then you shouldn't have problem with it tearing. I think I can probably use it in place of my green mat if I needed to. So far no crazy sticking or tearing of my papers. I'm glad I gave this a try. I will be buying more of this 3-packs, instead of paying $18 for one mat.

It is so nice to have multiple mats. It makes projects so much quicker when you can keep loading the machine and don’t have to weed in between. I used mine for about six months before it started loosing stick in some places, so I bought these. Easy enough to clean with dawn and air dry after that. It was a great price, too.

I have had 3 cricuts over the years and they all work wonderfully. These mats are awesome. I can cut a million different things on these mats, gently clean them, and continue to use them. I try to designate mats for the types of cuts I’m making (ie paper, cardstock, leather, felt, etc). The differentiation allows me to get a lot more use out of my mats. At first the mats can be extremely sticky so putting your hands on it can help reduce the sticky just a smidge. Be careful with fibrous items because they are very tough to get clean. You’ll run through mats much quicker if you don’t use a contact sheet cover to protect your mat!

Was a little unsure about buying these light grip mats; the price seemed too good to be true honestly! HOWEVER, so far I am extremely happy with this purchase. I have used one of the mats multiple times and it holds the paper as expected and releases it better then my older mats did. I find I can peal everything off easily without needing the scraper tool I always used with the mats that came with my machine years ago. I can't speak for longevity as I have only been using a single mat form this 3pack for a few days but I would definitely buy again and do plan to purchase the the stronggrip mats soon.

For everyone with the issues and paper sticking. The green mat is NOT for paper backing. It’s for vinyl. The light blue is for paper. It’s a light stick. As far as I’m concern this is a true cricut product or a very good knock off. First picture is from the cricut website and the one I received is identical. Held my vinyl nicely and released just as easy.

Love these mats! 3 pack value is amazing for the price. Keep in mind the purple are NOT made for paper!!! You need to use a lighter grip mat for paper crafting! I use these to cut vinyl, plastic, and party foil and it works wonderful. I only wish the mats were square so we could rotate them to get use out of all 4 sides. I only use about 4" at a time to the top and bottom of my mats wear out really quickly so if I could get use out of all 4 sides that would be so cool! But I know that's just a me thing so probably won't happen lol Overall great value. Research what mat is needed for your project before you buy!
