ORIGINAL: I did a lot of research to try to find the magnetic car mount that would be the strongest because I have a large battery case around my phone which dramatically increases the weight. This magnetic mount turned out to be very strong. The battery case I have is the "iPhone 6 Plus Battery Case, Foxin 8000 mAh Extended Battery Case Rechargeable Power Bank Charging Case for iPhone 6 Plus." I use it for my iPhone 6 plus (the bigger/heavier one). If you look up that case or look at the pictures I posted, you can see how large the case is and why I thought it might be too heavy for a magnet. I drove around all day making sharp/fast turns to see if I could knock my phone off this mount and it did not slide in any direction at all. Coincidentally, I almost got in an accident on the highway when a guy in front of me went from ~ 55 mph to ~ 10 mph in about 1.5 seconds by slamming on his breaks. I slammed on my breaks and made a jerking turn into the shoulder. The stuff in my passenger seat hit into the dashboard and fell onto the floor but the phone did not slide or move. So the magnets they use are about as strong as any phone could need. The mount came with two metal plates (one big and one small) which have an extremely sticky adhesive on the back. The little pegs on the back of the mount are very strong but CAN be bent under enough force. I bent mine slightly (while intentionally trying to bend them) but I don't think any vent would bend them or someone could accidentally bend them. UPDATE: The vent mount did not hold to the vent after about a week or two. I bought the dashboard adhesive version by the same company with the same magnet strength. The new, dash mount is great and I have no complaints. Because the new mount is good I have decided not to deduct any stars but I do not recommend the vent version of this car mount.

I have had this same brand but different application in other vehicles. I like this the most by far for several reasons. -Does not require adhering to your dash -Suction cup to mount on glass and/or comes with a mount to stick to the dash -the mount arm flexes enough to provide best location while being sturdy enough for bumps or other vibrations to not affect location or mount. -I can remove and use in other vehicles without leaving behind residue or other materials from mounting on dash or other surface. I have had this for several weeks and won't use another brand or mounting device for my phone. because it is a suction cup forer a week

I'm surprised how well this phone holder works. I applied the very thin plate on the outside of my phone case, inserted the 'wings' into my CD slot (haven't used it in years), tightened the knob until it was steady, then loosed the ring so that I could set the angle of the magnet, tightened it back up and now I have something I can practically throw my phone at and it catches it. No matter how hard I tap or swipe the screen, it stays put. Because I could set the angle myself, the way it faces me (especially for GPS) is perfect. The only downside, and this would vary from car stereo to car stereo, is that the slight pressure exerted by the 'wings' in the CD slot causes the row of stereo buttons directly below my CD slot to tighten up and become hard to press. In my particular case, this is a non-issue (I don't use those buttons), but I mention it because if you have critical buttons directly adjacent to your CD slot, the pressure of the holder could possibly deform your faceplate a little bit. As soon as I remove the holder, of course, the buttons are fine, the expansion isn't permanent. All in all, a big success in my car.

This car mount is fantastic. The suction cup stays where you stick it and hasn't fallen off yet. I take the whole mount down when I'm not using my GPS, so it's shown to be reliable even with repeated removal. I placed the base pad on a relatively flat, even surface on my dashboard above my radio and it hasn't had the problems with hot weather that some other reviewers have reported (I live in Texas, so it's seen plenty of hot weather). The arm is stiff enough to hold larger, heavier phones in place without bending, but is easy enough to bend by hand if you need to change the angle. The mount comes with two sticky magnets, a small and a large, to place on the back of your phone. I have an iPhone 6+ and use the larger magnet. It has stayed in place ever since I first applied it and is thin enough that I can put my phone case on the phone over it. I have a wallet case, so my credit card is held close to the magnet and I've never had any problems with the card being read. My mother did some research of her own and bought a different suction cup mount for her phone. The neck would bend anytime her smaller phone was placed on it and the suction cup never stayed attached to the windshield even when both surfaces were cleaned thoroughly. After a week she asked me to order a mount like mine for her. This mount definitely makes road trips more enjoyable.

Perfect mount. Quite glad I opted for a magnetic mount, as it is amazingly sturdy. The metal plate is very thin and I was able to place it under the back cover of my Nexus 5x. The bending arm is strong and stiff, but movable enough to adjust as needed. There is a bit of vibration when driving but my car isn't the smoothest roller. This model is much better than the new version, which i also purchased. Much more flexibility in placement. The only advantage the new model has is that it doesn't need a mounting plate. But I'm happy with my placement anyway. If highly recommend this mount, especially if you have a Nexus 5x or are never without a case.

I use this on my 2014 F-150 which has no other place to put a phone. Fits very well in the CD player, which I never use and holds my iPhone 7+ with no problem at all. I put the metal plate between the case and the phone back (did not stick it to either, it just sits between both) and have had no problems with the phone falling or any other issues -- this is a great and very secure mount. BUT, I did try this in my wife 14 escape and it does not fit well -- the angle of the dash CD player puts the phone at a very odd angle and blocks some buttons, she didn't like it but it might not be an issue for you. works well but depends on your dash shape

FINALLY! A MOUNT THAT ACTUALLY WORKS! I've bought so many magnet mounts; I am convinced I have single-handedly been funding R&D for the made in China magnet mount industry over the last ~12 months. I have tried everything - stick on, vent mount, CD mount etc - and they've all been JUNK. Don't hold the phone, come off too easy, bounce around, fall apart after a month etc. Until now. This one actually works. Been rock solid since Day 1 install, even with my super heavy, somewhat long in the tooth, aftermarket battery burdened mobile phone.

I love these! Hands free mounting, no fiddling with grips, no worrying about the phone falling. I use the one for the CD player as soon the drivers mount and this one is set up for the passenger, usually me, so I stop losing my phone on the floor when I nap on trips. Also keeps it handy for charging. The slim metal piece ads almost no weight or bulk to the phone, either. I'm trying to find more uses for the whole system! Since these work on all phones and cases, you don't have to worry that one driver in the house might have a different phone, or the day you finally make the switch to another format. Just move the plate to the new car and you're set.

Exactly what I was looking for. Very sleek, very sturdy. Perfect. Let me start by saying that I make deliveries and use my phone as a GPS. As such I don't want to leave the phone in the care while making the deliveries, so I wanted something that was easy to remove my phone. I also use a company car that I share so I need to place and remove the mount every day. The first mount I ever bought was a claw type. It had a tack substance on the pad that stuck to the windshield. While it did hold well, it was not easy to remove the mount or the phone from the mount. It required two hands. The next mount was a magnetic vent mount. Better but it failed over time because you never knew what size vent fins you would find. So finally I decided to spend a bit of money (not that much) and got this mount. After the first two days of use I am extremely happy. It solved ALL of my problems. Easy to mount and remove from the windshield. It has no tacky substance on the suction cup. But it hold very firm. I was worried about the long goose neck but it is very ridged. Almost a solid piece of metal. Does not shake at all or very little. But still flexible enough to adjust the position of the mount. Also, the magnet is perfectly strong. Not too hard, not too soft. I have a large phone (OnPlus One, 5.5" screen) and it did not move or fall off over bumps. Overall very happy. Easy to mount/remove, sturdy, secure. Feels like it was made very well.

Works perfect!! I love it and it really holds my Google pixel well without any issues using the larger magnet.
