I'm impressed. Much like Apple, it says it's manfactured in China, and designed in Holland. I like the one-piece, lightweight feel. This replaces a similar slicer, two-piece, where the shaver started separating from the handle. I read the negative reviews only after the slicer was on its way. Here are my thoughts: • It's not too small; you can get a slice in the middle of a firm cheese that's exactly one slice wide. If you want it wider, than please read the specs for the item; • It's sharp. The blue tape is there so you don't cut yourself. It is a serrated cut, very sturdy and repeatable; • Best for cheeses from firm Goudas all the way up to Parmesan. Your UK cheddars and such (as well as US and South Pacific and New England cheddars, and the like) will always crumble. Guess what? Thin slices of those cheeses is not the best way to experience them. Cut them with a knife into blocks, instead; • This shaver will work best with smooth cheeses that DON'T crumble, and, sometimes, with hard cheeses. It's blade, being serrated, will remain sharp enough to do its job for many years; • Using full-body leverage will give poor results. Simply draw across the cheese gently to produce thin and flavorful slices.

I first encountered this type of cheese slicer in cheese factories in western New York where they were used to slice samples of cheddar. I had forgotten how well they worked until recently when I was looking for a nice functional cheese slicer to slice mostly Swiss and cheddar cheeses. The slicer is very easy to use and the slices are uniform - with minimal practice. As noted in some reviews, its is lightweight, but it appears to be quite sturdy and should prove durable for its intended purpose. I would definitely buy again and may purchase a second for use on cheese boards. I noted several questions as to country of origin. I would say that it is made in the Netherlands. There is no country of origin on the package but scanning the QR code gives the option of accessing the website in English or Dutch. Since posting my review, I have also purchased the Boska Copenhagen cheese knife set (3 knives). The handles are perfect length and the knives do work for their intended purpose i.e. each is designed to slice a different type of cheese. I continue my five star rating.

I partly grew up in the Netherlands and no household was without a slicer like this. Living in America, you don't typically see them for sale. I hunted on Amazon, because of course. This little slicer is fantastic - on par with what we had growing up, though a bit lighter. Slices great. I hope that the blade lasts as I'm not sure how to sharpen if ever needed. It makes shredding a thing of the past. Thank you, Copenhagen Cheese Slicer!

Russian reviewed, customer approved. Saw a weird russian guy review this on his cheese grater youtube channel. Don't know how I ended up there, but I bought it. Works grate 😉 Finely shredded cheese for tacos, nachos or a kid snack and the cutting edge is perfect for strips or chunks. Easy to clean and small for convenience of storage and use.

My husband is from another country and this is just like his parents one perfect!

I read the reviews, and ended up settling on the Copenhagen Collection Cheese Grater. It works, and easily shreds cheese with little effort on my part. Being hand held, it's perfect for shredding right over what you want to eat instead of making a pile on the counter first then transferring. I'd recommend.

Love this! Perfect for preparing a PROPER cheeseboard. Very easy to use, made of stainless steel, sleek look, easy to clean and provides a good level of sturdiness during slicing/handling blocks of cheese, either hard or soft, does a great job of slicing, imo—Great purchase and value for money, I’ve wanted one of these for years! Really happy to have found this, best I’ve ever used. Dishwasher safe, too! That’s a huge plus for me because this is a SHARP tool, and one I’d rather not wash by hand. I love it!

I am watching my weight and make myself sandwiches with a Single slice of bread. I cut the slice into 2 rectangles, not diagonally. This slicer makes the slice fit just right for my half sandwich. I have a larger wire slicer that makes slices fit for a whole slice of bread. I use both slicers mostly for cheese. Both work well but this little slicer is perfect for my small rectangular sandwiches. It is sturdy and easy to clean. I like it very much.

My brother bought a couple of blocks of goat cheese from Norway, and guess what? I didn't have a cheese slicer! Got this once rushed to me from Amazon and had it in hand next day. Works great, no cracks or handles that can fall off, just a solid peace of stainless steel. Works great and cleans up easy. Good price too.

Good quality 1pc design for easy cleaning. Good handle, full size. Not Like other small handle for kids to use?? Highly Recommended.
