Ahhhhhhhhh...... :)
First, the bad news: this is NOT the Fender Jazz that Geddy Lee plays. Then again, that bass cost about six TIMES what this one cost. So, there is that. As long as you are willing to accept that, this bass is phenomenal. Great action, comfortable fret board, and flat-out beautiful finish. My first time picking it up made me remember what I used to love about bass playing, and it has rekindled my interest in becoming a GOOD bass player (probably not great, not at my point in life, but I'll take good). Now, I'm looking for local versions of Alex and Neil....

Good overall, amazing for the money
Someone I know had a Fender Musicmaster, the 60s/70s version of what this Squier Bronco is, and I fell in love with the size and short scale. At 150 bucks, this is a steal. I'm an experienced player, and generally pretty picky with instruments. When it comes to fit, finish, and playability, this holds its own with basses costing four to five times as much. Fret ends are good, no sharp bits. I haven't found any fret buzz on mine. I suspect the seller did a proper set up on this. If they didn't, and it came from the factory like this, then WOW! The pickup is good, a bit less booming than something with a humbucker, but you will get a nice sound when you dial in your amp. Yes, it is a pickup usually put in guitars, but it's not a bad sound. Ignoring price, and being super picky, my only real gripe is that the bridge is only two saddles, but teles were made like this for years. Just an older way of doing things. The fact that you can buy this quality of instrument for the price it is blows me away. In the world of 30 inch scale basses, I dare to say this is your best bet. Even if you're not looking for a budget instrument, this is worth a look before spending more money.

Way more amazing than a Beginnger Bass!
This bass sounds just as good as the $1500 ones I attempt to tinker with at the store. Straight out of the box, needs nothing. The setup isn't half bad... I bought this with intentions of swapping the pickups out to make it sound like a expensive bass, but it already does. A word on quality control, I originally bought a 5 string Squire Affinity Jazz Bass from a different seller, it took a month to come in, and when it finally did, there was horrible bridge buzz. I took it to the shop, the Guitar Tech said it was literally unfixable. So, I returned it, and I got this. So glad I did! I'm definitely more of a Precision bass guy, anyway. So the point of the story is, I recommend buying straight from Fender on Amazon. The condition might be iffy getting it elsewhere.

This little monster weighs next to nothing and sounds great. I’ve had a number of basses over the years and I am a convert to the small scale. No more heavy lifting over the shoulder and finger stretching down the fret board. The simple and no-nonsense design of one pickup, one volume knob, and one tone knob make this bass super accessible for beginners and very straightforward for experienced players as well. For the price it can’t be beaten.

Better than expected for $200
I bought this bass as a beater that I could leave in the car for after work rehearsals and not worry about ruining an expensive axe. I am blown away at how good this bass is for the price. The finishing is a bit rough around the edges, but it is still good enough out of the box that I would use it as is for a gig, after a quick truss rod adjustment the action was just how I like it, and no dead spots or buzzing that I could notice. My only gripe is that I rest my thumb on the top of the pickups when playing, and these seem to have rather sharp edges. I was able to fix this by rounding the edges with some 220 grit sandpaper. The output is comparable to my fender American performer PJ, though sounds a little bit muddier even with the tone all the way up. Overall still sound really good and balanced. If you are considering this for a beginner, or just a beater/project, I definitely recommend this bass.

Great Value and Great Sounding Jazz Bass !!
I am very happy with this purchase. As someone who always wanted to learn to play, I finally took the plunge and bought this bass after researching my options on a low budget. While the price is low, this is not "cheap junk", it is a great starter bass. The tone from this bass is very good, better than I was expecting. I did replace the strings immediately with some "Rotosound Flatwound Jazz Bass 77" strings. I also adjusted/set-up the bass correctly before getting started. This is a must to get proper sound. This can be done yourself with some basic tools and some research or you can have a professional perform this service. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who's always wanted to learn, but doesn't have a thousand dollars for that dream Fender American Standard Jazz Bass.

Bass for guitar players. :)
I've grown to appreciate Fender's guitars. This is my first time with a bass by Fender. Plugged it into my fuzz pedal and tube amp and totally wanked with it. Give me a couple years. Didn't learn guitar overnight either... but it sounds and feels great with no obvious flaws and up to Fender standards in build quality.

Unbelievably happy
Believe it or not this is one of the best basses I’ve ever owned. I bought this bass only with the intentions of using it for upcoming performances while my main bass was being repaired, the plan was to only use the squire for about 3 weeks until my bass was fixed then get rid of it except I’ve enjoyed playing this bass so much that it’s now become my main bass. I am just blown away by how great these squire bass guitars are and I very much love how it feels in my hands and yet it’s only a $200 bass. I absolutely recommend this bass to anyone looking for a bass on a budget or just to own it truly is s great guitar

An absolute winner for the price point
It can be difficult to get a decent instrument for only $149 but this little bass knocked it out of the park. I bought it to record demos at my home studio and it does the job. It is easy to play, stays in tune amazingly well, looks excellent and has a sound that is VERY surprising for $149 dollars. It is everything as advertised and pumps out fantastic, classic Fender bass tone. Sounds beautiful with a cheap fender rumble bass amp and absolutely incredible (as to be expected) through an Ampeg SVT head. This thing is awesome and I can not recommend it enough for someone who wants an extra throw around bass or their first bass guitar.

BEGINNER bass?
Sure, you can spend an extra thousand dollars or more for a "professional" bass. But in terms of quality, it's only going to be 5% better than this one. I am blown away by this thing! To say that it exceeded my expectations is a massive understatement. I could not be happier.
