My dad is 79 yo and has had two strokes. He has difficulty using his left hand along and issues with flexibility. He could no longer tie his shoes. Plus he was having foot and toe pain. I was concerned over his slip and fall potential. After searching high and low through all the Velcro fasten tennis shoes I found these. They look like tennis shoes rather than the thick-soled shoes typically found with Velcro fasteners designed for older folks. Combined with their look, their anti-slip soles, and being designed to be supportive I gave them a shot. My dad hasn’t worn anything else since the day he got them. He LOVES them...he says they’re comfortable, feel good, aren’t heavy, and are easy to put on. The anti-slip sole seems to be true to its claim. His feet aren’t hurting anymore either. These shoes are a blessing for my dad and we will continue to buy these for him. Oh, they are holding up very well, too. Highly, highly recommend.

I'm getting up there in years so I love shoes with Velcro instead of laces. Makes the arthritis in my hands a lot less hassle. These are good casual shoes, nothing fancy and certainly not going to be mistaken for Florsheims or such but they do the job and are *very* comfortable. Toe box could be a skosh wider as I have large feet but on the whole these arte serviceable and work well. I volunteer at the local aquarium and am on my feet for hours at a time and these do not get uncomfortable. Traction is good on wet concrete but I've not given them a real workout on a rainy day but where I live that should not take long to occur. Support for the foot is good and I don't find any tendency for the shoe to "overrotate" or turn your ankles on softer ground. For the price and the use I put them to, they are just dandy. Good business casual but you;d not wear themw ith a fine suit for a night at the Symphony.

When I first put the shoes on, I thought to myself, "oh crap, these are too small". However, after stepping out and walking a few steps, mind you A FEW STEPS, the fit was perfect though a little bit tight. After a week of wearing, these shoes are comfortable and sturdy. The velcro straps are sturdy and well made, don't slip or come undone. I'm very, very pleased with this shoe selection!!!

The wide width is pretty wide. It is the widest wide shoe I have ever worn. Next time I might try the regular wide, in case these generally run wide. The length seems OK. They loosen up a little after the first wearing. The velco is ample and the shoes seem well made. This is February 2019 and if my opinion changes, I will revise my review.

I bought the 8.5 Wide white one. This shoes is excellent for me because I have wide feet with high bridge. My foot ball part is 11cm wide and in the middle is 9.5cm wide. My bridge is like 7cm high. I'm from South China and a lot of us normally have wide feet and only sandals fit us comfortably. I recently bought a pair of Propet wide shoes and they were wide but only on the toes part and not on the arch area, so they didn't feel overall comfortable. This Avias however are wide on the toes and on the arch area too. According to the charts I have 8 size foot but I bought a 8.5 and they fit perfectly because you have to consider the space the socks will occupy and also when you step on the floor your foot will "spread" a little wider and longer so you also have to consider that extra space too. The only thing I don't like that much is the memory foam inner sole because it flattens easily, it does not have spring force enough to support 180 pounds guy like me. I had to put another sole, but I don't mind because it's so hard for me to find shoes that fit so I can tolerate this little inconvenience. I hope my information helps another person like me.

Perfect fit. Easy to use. All 17 lighting modes work. No instructions, but simple to figure out. One thing to note, the remote doesn’t work that well, but no big deal. And you don’t have to cycle through all 17 modes to shut the lights down. Just hold the button in and it shuts down. Oh ya, very comfortable for kicking around and shuffling down the street. Great shoe at a great price. Do try to fix the remote. It would be handy. If you think mine is defective, you might send me a replacement? The battery checks okay.

We bought a pair of these same shoes in white @ 6 months ago, and my dad liked them so much, we got another pair in black. The hook and loop (velcro) closure is very important to my dad, b/c he has arthritis in his hands and can no longer tie shoe laces. The oil/slip resistant rubber tread pattern for enhanced grip is extremely helpful when my dad walks on wood/tile/marble floors (his feet do not slide around like with other shoes, which can cause him to trip and fall). He feels safer walking in these shoes. The water and stain resist synthetic leather is good for easy clean up too. He likes these shoes and finds them very comfortable. So far, these shoes have proven to be a good investment for my dads needs and are a good price too. I would recommend them to anyone, especially if you need them for an elderly parent.

Bending over and tying was killing my injured back. The velcro was a fabulous solution and why I got the sneakers. But once I had them I loved the comfort and the stability the soles seem to produce. I know 'foodservice shoes' are basically non-slip, but these are truly safer feeling as well. After I got my first pair, I ordered several more pairs, so I anticipate wearing these kinds of shoes for a long, long time... perhaps even forever (even once my back eases off). I really like them! Thanks to Avia!

Velcro provides ease in putting on shoes and enables a tight, comfortable fit. Feet fit snugly in the shoe. Better than I expected. I bought the white version which makes a quite attractive shoe. They look a lot like sporty white sneakers and not like what some senior citizens wear to correct an orthotic issue. I like this pair so much that I don't want to take them off when I get home. In fact, I sometimes forget they are on my feet. They rank among the top of all the shoes and sneakers that I've had and I am not a young man. I

Bought these fort my 90 year old dad at Christmas , He has a hard time tying his shoes so a few years ago he bought himself a pair of loafers with the velcro straps to use.. They were wearing out so I talked him into trying these, Not only are they comfortable but they are build good which helps with his balance.. They also have good soles so if he is out in the wet weather he won't come inside and slip on the floor.. Highly recommend these for elderly!!
