When I purchased my Raspberry PI 3 B+ I saw this case and liked the idea of a fan on it. It is a 9 layer case. When I received it I went to assemble it. It is a well designed case and in anybody else’s hands probably put it together in a minute. But in my hands, not so much. I found that my power cable that came with it wouldn’t clear the plastic. So I contacted support@miuzeipro.com and asked them about my issue. They were polite and fast on the response (which is rare these days) and asked me to send a photo of the assembled case. As I was preparing to send the photo, I noticed that one of the screws for the fan had come loose and I took it apart to fix that. When I did I decided to look at the other layers to see if I screwed up. And sure enough I had the third layer 180 degrees wrong. Changed that around and everything plugged in with no problem. The case is very solid when assembled, The fan is ultra quiet. You get 3 heat sinks with it. Power Supply easily supplies the voltage needed. All of the usb and ports easily accessible. It is a fine case. Well designed and good looking too. I will buy again from Miuzei, a great company. With Emily at Miuzei for support you can’t go wrong.

That was my somewhat comical exclamation when I opened the package. Turned out not to be a problem and actually kind of fun. Once assembled, the case is quite stable. Appreciated being able to install a veined heat sink on the RAM chip on the back side of the Pi board. Switch on power cord is handy. Fan did not come on right away which was a surprise at first but then the Pi is built to control things so must control power to the GPIO pins used for power. It seems to be just on or off, not variable voltage (speed). I connected the fan for high speed operation and, it is so quiet, I had to look to see it was running.

Update - they replaced the case and included some clearer instructions. I did use superglue to create two parts (I did the top but probably should have left it as a third piece) - the bottom 3 using the fan screws, then the uppers, and hit the corners so they wouldn't move. It locked in perfectly. The power adapter and heatsinks are good, but I already broke the fragile case. It isn't a solid case, it is a bunch of laser cut acrylic pieces that stack, but some don't go all the way around, some are very thin. The screws aren't quite long enough to go completely through the nuts. It helps to put the screws downward at the ethernet and header corners, and upward at the other two. You probably should glue the bottom three plates (be sure they are aligned perfectly, then all the upper pieces and still hope it stays aligned and doesn't break.

I initially rated this as a 3 star, not because I disliked the case (I like it very much), but rather because my case arrived with a DOA fan and the company was unresponsive to my contact attempts. However, I have to revise my initial rating. Somehow my email did not make it to them, but as soon as they learned about the issue they were incredibly responsive, and took steps to make it right immediately. You cannot ask for more than that. Minus the fan issue, I would have rated this case 5 stars, and after experiencing their customer service I wish I could give it 6. The case is excellent, and with the fan and the heatsinks my CPU temp is sitting at right around 32-35C under moderate load - better than I had hoped. Well done.

Overview: Great little case once you get it built (difficult). It is composed of several layers that are easy to get out of order and flip over, so take your time. I love the power supply with on/off switch and the blue heatsinks. Pros: - Looks amazing - Comes with heatsinks and fan - Power supply has on/off toggle switch (see pic) Cons: - Putting it together - Confusing connection of fan (see pics for guidance) To Get Started: Look at instruction sheet carefully. It's mostly just pictures so I'll try to describe the process a little here. Install the heatsinks on the Pi Motherboard. Unscrew the corners of the case. Once you do this, I highly recommend flipping it upside-down and working from the bottom layer up. Remove the bottom plastic protective layer (it will go from opaque to clear) and follow the pictures very carefully. Take your time working layer by layer. Everything fits together very snugly, but you shouldn't have to force it. If you get stuck, carefully match the piece and orientation and try again. My pictures show my new 3b+ installed in this case and everything fits perfect. Once you get to the top layer, connect the fan red pin to #1 and the black pin to #6 to have it run at the lower 3V speed. See my Pi picture for this set up. You can connect the red pin to #2 if your want a faster 5V speed but u like the quieter 3V setting. I've attached a pin diagram to help understand this as well. Thanks to the Engineering Project... I initially wired mine backward and this pic was helpful. Assembled correctly, the fan just misses the main heatsink and I have no issues with clearance. Cool and quiet. Screw in one corner at a time and add the silicone pads at the bottom and you are done. I've attached pictures of this case with my Pi 3b+ from every side for reference and to show that everything does indeed fit nicely. I've paired my Pi with a 64gb Samsung Evo card. Bottom line: This case is very stylish and compact. There are openings for all inputs. The power supply has a definite on/off click. Be very careful with assembly and give yourself about 20-30 minutes so not to rush. It's easy to flip a piece and they will break if you force them. Getting the fan plugged in and situated took me a few tries. In the end, I'm very happy with my purchase. Hope this was helpful!

I've had a few experiences with non-official Raspberry Pi cases (only plastic ones), and generally they're very flimsy. I will admit that my expectations were low for this case when I bought it, but I will say I'm pleasantly surprised for a number of reasons: 1. The layered design of this case is pretty cool, and keeps the Pi very secure. All of the interfaces are well supported on the sides. Kudos to whoever thought of this design. 2. Due to the layers, I would assume that it's strong. 3. The dual voltage/speed of the fan is a nice touch. 4. I haven't tested the speed difference, but that's another nice touch. 5. It's very quiet. I was expecting a noisy crappy fan, but it's so quiet, that I can't imagine it bothering anyone. I don't know about how much air it moves, but anything is better than nothing. 6. Having the switch (on the power brick) close to the Pi is another great feature. Much better than having to pull out the connecter each time. 7. Very clear installation instructions (for case assembly, heat-sink application, fan and speed installation, and mounting of the Pi). Nice work! The downsides are minor, but I do want to bring them up. They are: 1. With the top installed, it's a bit tricky to see the PWR LED and "disk" light. It is possible to see them, but you need to hold the case at an angle, and look through the long slot between the fan and the short edge. Having another slot, or hole where you could see the LEDs directly from the top would be nice, but definitely not a deal-breaker. 2. If you need to get access to the inside of the case frequently, this will be a bit of a pain. This is due to the layered approach of the case itself. The install instructions show having the screw go from top to bottom, but if you do that, then you need to take off a lot of the layers. I recommend having the screw heads at the bottom, and that way if you need to access the inside, you'll only have to take off one layer. 3. The switch on the power lead is reversed than what I would expect. With the button down, I would expect that power would be ON, but it's not. Power is ON when the button is up. You may also want to put a small white line on the fan so you can easily tell when the fan is on, because the fan is very smooth during operation, and it can be hard to see that it's actually running. Other than the minor items I listed, I'm pretty certain that I'll be buying again from Miuzei. Quality product all the way!

I bought this case specifically for my Raspberry Pi that is running Octopi for my 3D printer. I was getting errors that the device was overheating and was under voltage. I am using a FLIRC case for a different Pi (which is a great case), but for this application, I wanted some active cooling as Octopi is pretty demanding. And as prints can take several days, it really puts the Pi to the test. Pros: Really well made. 3 anodized heat sinks Fan that connects to the board in either a 3.3v or 5v configuration. Access points for accessory cables. Very nice looking. Comes with a good power supply that also has an on/off switch and a good sized cord. Comes with little anti skid feet that keep it slightly raised for even better ventilation Cons: no dust screen over the fan. Other notes: Make sure you are putting on the bottom piece correctly as the heat sink has to go through the hole there. Also, it is a bit easier to add the bottom heat sink after you put the case together.

This case is great. It fits the Raspberry Pi 3b+ perfectly and is very sturdy. Unlike most cases, it includes a fan, which is almost silent even at the higher of the two speed settings. The power supply in the package produces a voltage almost exactly 5 volts according to my multimeter, and it has a switch on the power cable which means less messing around with the cable to turn the pi on and off. I ran a stress test (calculating a large number of prime numbers) with a pi without a case and the CPU peaked at 71 degrees C. Inside this case it peaked at 53 degrees on the same stress test with the fan at high speed (5V), and 59 degrees with the fan at low speed (3.3V). Overall, I'm impressed by this case and power supply. I will be buying one of these kits for each of the pi systems that I will be giving to students in an upcoming introductory computer course. Edit 12/12/18: There's a new version of this case that is just as good and simpler to assemble. I recommend it.

Lots of case pieces as this is a "layer cake" of plastic sections. Keep the case parts oriented with respect to the RasPi, and properly stacked for easy reassembly of the case as it is shipped "put together". I found that while removing the protective film and while attaching the fan to the top cover, keeping everything organized made for a straightforward assembly. Add heat sinks carefully, I added the three heat sinks I used as I put the first few layers with the RasPi inside to facilitate accurate placement as there isn't much wiggle room for an off center heat sink. Good pictorial instructions on the layering. Add the fan power connections to the GPIO pins before final layer is in place. This took about 10 minutes to assemble vs. well under 5 minutes for some of the more basic cases. NOTE: Use of the GPIO ribbon cable use would require alternate power routing to the fan, perhaps soldering and/or wire wrapping low on the GPIO pins, if you know how and have the tools. I opted for the lower voltage 3.3v power selection for my fan which will be more than adequate for its intended use as a SAMBA file server, if needed at all. Included USB power switch is a good way to avoid plugging/unplugging the micro USB cable. Just properly shutdown the RasPi to avoid file corruption. Clear and black case is handsome and reasonably rugged. Good access to all ports (except as noted for the GPIO and ribbon cable, if used with the fan).

The case comes fully assembled, and you unscrew the layers and re-stack them around your Pi. The instructions are quite clear, including pointing out to remove the protective film that makes it appear cloudy or scratched. Mine was pristine, with all layers looking beautifully clear, aside from the two black accent layers. Read the instructions all the way through! you should not install the small heatsink until you have all but the top layer placed. The other, larger heatsink for the TOP can be applied anytime, as it doesn't come near the edges. The bottom one shouldn't be applied until you've screwed the case back together, and you'll want tweezers to get them in correctly...it's a tight fit! As others have stated, the fan is *super* quiet. I use it in the lower speed setting, as my Pi's sole job is to run PiHole, which doesn't really push the Pi (3B+) at all. If I was FORCED to nitpick about the case, the power wires for the fan have to arc up into the slot above them a little bit. Not enough to risk any chance of snagging, but it is less than ideal. Getting a power supply, good looking case, and a bonus, tiny little fan for $16 is a great deal. Mine was the first of several Pihole machines I'm likely to assemble, and this combo will be my go-to for them all.
