Yahoo! I've owned huge parrots which were not half as messy as these two little rotten parakeets! The Bird's LOVE Bird Feeder Seed Tray arrived just two days ago but there is no need to wait longer to review this. After trying everything from different feeders to cage wraps, this thing is the first to almost totally eliminate the daily accumulation of hulls and seeds my two olympian throwers produce! It took part of the first day and my placing some mint leaves (they love fresh mint) into the front tray of the feeder before Max and Lorna Baby would venture inside for a taste. No problem after that first venture. How nice to see only one or two seed escapees - can finally unplug the vacuum which has been a permanent fixture beside their cage!

Sun conure or smaller birds only

My beautiful sun conure kept getting in her bowl and throwing all her food out every time I filled it so I bought this and let me tell u no more throwing . At first she tried and only got piece by piece out but now she just eats her food and doesn’t throw it very satisfied with this product just note that my sun conure can fit inside any other birds bigger then won’t unless your bird will just put their face in there he pitch inside is small and by the time the birdy well my sun conure that is her head touches the back piece but great for small to medium birds

This is THE best clear box-style feeder!

Love this one so much. We previously had a couple similar feeders from other manufacturers that had the little metal hangers that insert into the sides that then hooked on the cage. They were forever coming out of the holes that held them in, falling out, and were difficult to get in and out of the cage. You almost needed a third hand to put them back up inside a cage. These ones have cup-hook style hangars that are firmly attached to the feeder and you can easily hook them onto the bars of the cage with one hand and no fuss. They keep the seeds, debris, and hulls contained for the most part, esp. with my messy little budgie hens that like to throw their food around and rustle around in their dishes. Open food dishes were always problematic for that reason but these have solved the problem. My birds even like to sit on top of them for some reason. Great product, well designed and easy to use. We dont have to sweep up bird food anymore!

So glad I bought this! We went from sweeping up food twice a day to not at all! It took about a day before our cockatiel would use it but after that we've had no problems. She also likes to sit on top of it. I was worried she would be too big for it but she has plenty of room. Because her pellets dont go flying everywhere I feel like we also have to refill her feeder less which is nice.

All you need to do is screw in the hooks and you are ready to hang in the cage. My birds love this feeder AND THERE IS ZERO MESS IN THE CAGE! Nor anywhere else. One of my budgies wants to make this his home for sleeping!! So I am getting another one for him to sleep in. The things we do for our birds. This is so easy to fill with seeds, and they can try to throw them around but the shells stay inside. I highly recommended this well made bird feeder for small birds.

Who says birds are messy?

Well, my bird was more like a pig than a bird until I got this feeder. Why did I not look for something like this before? I would say that the floor around the cage is 98% seed/hull free. He will always fling a few here or there but he just wants attention! Other things to note is that it is heavy duty plastic and my bird did not mind going in for seed. Its very simple to use and set up. Much easier then my other "bowl" system. Thanks for the great product!

Wow-Success! A great feeder

Where to start. So much to like about this feeder. I have a fairly uncommon parakeet. With this breed, they don't necessarily have as docile a reputation as your typical parakeet/budgie. Though he is relatively calm per se (I can touch and pet him with ease), I wasn't sure how a feeder he has to enter into would go over. Secondly I have him in a fairly expensive cage which I didn't want to cut up or modify in order to accommodate a feeder. The doors are "arched" so they really won't work for an outside feeder. In turn, I needed a feeder that could be mounted inside the cage. I put it in last evening and he didn't go right in. I wanted to make sure he knew where the food was. As a way to tempt him in, I also put food in the front compartment where the husks/hull would typically go so he could get familiar with it. His "favorite" food was in the back compartment (where it belongs). Well, I just walked in and he was chowing down on the favorite food in the back (proper) compartment. Yeah! He's not terrible with seed scattering, but the food I feed primarily (in addition to veggies) is $6.50 a pound and I got tired of throwing away so much uneaten seed. This really ought to address the issue. Suffice to say, I'm very happy with my purchase (see photo).

Bought this for my Gouldian Finches and they took to it right away. They can easy perch and eat and it was very easy to install. It does a great job at keeping the seeds contained and off of my floor. I think I might order another one for their millet. They make a huge mess with that. I would recommend this product.

FINALLY A BETTER LESS MESSY BIRD FEEDER.

I totally LOVE these bird feeder seed trays !! I even put in fresh grapefruit- or other fresh fruits - SLUGGO and LUCKY (only has one leg, ere-go the name) figured it out within 3 hours. Super easy to take in & out of the cage for refilling and it REALLY WORKS!! Has cut down on messy seeds & shells everywhere. I made a great purchase for my sweet Baby’s and for me. Thank you!!!

Dramatic reduction in mess!!

My cockatiel makes 10x the mess my Amazon does, so I figured I'd give this a whirl. It works like a charm! It look him a few minutes to figure out how to actually get in the box and reach the food, but with a little encouragement, he got it! His seed mess is drastically reduced. It's a tight fit, I do wish it was slightly bigger, but we've had it about a week now and he doesn't seem to mind. I wouldn't use this for anything bigger than a cockatiel though! Overall, works fantastic!
