I'm a huge Sci-Fi nerd, so the idea of exploring planets and cataloging species is fascinating to me. But, it won't be for everyone. I initially bought this game for the PS4 on Black Friday back in 2016. After a troubled launch, it was really cheap, so I figured if I didn't like it I wasn't out a lot of money. Well, I loved it then and I still love it. Early this year, I started the process of switching from the PS4 to the XBOX One, so I'm glad this game is out for the XBOX One now. This game is just hours upon hours of fun for me. Each update has brought new and exciting features. I can spend hours upon hours (and I've done this) on a single planet exploring. Then, when you're done with one planet, you can get in your ship and go somewhere else. It's fantastic. I can see where it won't be for everyone, but it's great for me when I want a fun, relaxing game experience. Plus, there are other game modes, such as survival and permadeath, for people who want more of a challenge. I've tried survival in the past and it's a lot tougher. Anyway, this is a great game. It was always good, but it really evolved into being great over the past couple years. I highly recommend it for fans of space exploration games.

I've played this game first after its initial expansion, and I gotta say it has gotten better since then. This game isn't gonna be for everyone. You need to have an imaginative mind to fully explore all this game has to offer, let alone get passed the first few hours of the game which will be slower but enjoyable. If you're having trouble finding your pre-order items, you will find them on your delivery confirmation email in the form of a code.

When this game was first released it promised so much and delivered VERY little. Those anticipating all these promises for years were extremely disappointed. It was like that fire island festival all over again. BUT, the developers didnt just give up. They continued updating and working endlessly to get this game up to par with what it initially was supposed to be. I have so much respect for this team to acknowledge their mistake, which was only that they promised it too soon. NOW, this game is so friggin awesome! I spend hours and hours roaming, exploring and building. In an infinite universe you choose whatever you want to do. You can team up with friends, make new friends (only if you want to) or just fly around solo. The map, as far as me or anyone i know that's played it, has ever found an "end" or limitation on how far you can travel. Theres rumors of a "center" of the universe but I've yet to find it. Give it a go! If you like space exploration, fighting and Minecraft/Ark Survival: Evolved like building games than this is for you.beautiful graphics and space images, you'll get lost in the universe and enjoy every second of it. :D

I'm a very casual gamer; but after dying fairly quickly into the game because of environmental reasons, I figured out that I needed to gather elements, assemble stuff, and fix other stuff. It's a slow game, but I'm enjoying the exploration and trying to interact with the critters I stumble upon. Luckily, nothing has tried to eat me yet. It is a truly beautiful game and the controls are quickly learned after moving through the documentation screens. BTW, I didn't read anything about gameplay before installing and then firing it up.

Well, where to start. Oh there it is - the game is for people who enjoy exploration undiluted and have active imagination. If imagination missing or so so- there going to be one of those angry "where is my multiplayer" reviews. When i got it originally for PS4 a while back, without all addons and whistles, i enjoyed it immensely and was quite surprised when i read all those "I want my money back" reviews. I guess it was because i never read the promises they made - but even if i did, would still enjoy it. As it is now, with all convenience addons that remove ever-small inventory problems among other things, it becomes a smooth ride - but still not for people who lack imagination OR rush to see ending. This was meant to be enjoyed, to imagine yourself at the helm of exploring vehicle, to make you understand how insignificant we are compare to the vastness of the universe. Try and find another game like that - maybe only old Elite games could compare. I like it - no doubt about it and i don't care for the game reputation at all.

I liked playing NMS, This mostly a solo game. You can have friends join you. Or random people can join your game. You can buy and sell and work as a trader. Be a farmer, take on jobs for guilds or outposts, even you're own base. Build a base on other planets, attack pirates or look for treasure. All while dealing with annoying sentinels who can be found on nearly every planet. Or hostile critters, or the planets just being very inhospitable. Sometimes the sentinels are very hostile and will attack you on sight. Sometimes not. If you play on the harder level they are more likely to be hostile. There is of course a story quest line you will also be following. My biggest complaint is that 6 ships is the max the game allows and has no way to sell a ship. You can trade you're ship in for better one. But, sometimes you will find a crashed ship that can be repaired. Would be nice to have a ship yard dealer as well as just trading a ship off.

So far.... Its been a really fun game. My friend and i had a hard time finding a plant that we didn't instantly freeze on but after we found a good starting planet it was great fun. We spent about an hour customizing our characters and so far its been great.

I've never played it on PlayStation or PC, but coming from elite dangerous this is an interesting game. Much less realism based, but it's fun and interesting and mysterious. Graphics are pleasing to me, mechanics are all smooth and enjoyable.. I'm a big fan of this so far!

One of the greatest games I’ve ever played. This game was made for people that love exploration and discovery. I compare it to a more realIstic version of Minecraft, along with a seemingly infinite galaxy exploration sim. The crafting and inventory can be a little clunky and monotonous, but that would be my only issue with this game. There is something so rewarding, going planet to planet, upgrading your gear to discover more dangerous planets, and the life that may be inhabiting it’s treacherous landscape. If you enjoy relaxing while playing games, for example listening to podcasts while playing, then this game is perfect for that. Watch reviews on YouTube for the NEXT update, because that is the version of the game you will receive.

This open world (galaxy?) game is phenomenal. You explore multiple planets within a solar system, within a galaxy. You interact with beings from three primary types of characters: Gek, Vy'Keen, and Korvax and you learn their languages the more you speak with them. There are also anomaly Travelers who are there (or are they?) that you randomly interact with. The game has a main story line but you are not required to complete or even follow it other than doing a few missions to gain some experience or objects. You can build bases on multiple planets across multiple galaxies; you can become a miner of rare metals; you can become a farmer and tame the wild creatures (watch out for the carnivores though). You can play alone or team up with other players (using Xbox Live service) and explore or fight pirates. If you go to the Anomaly you can get team missions that pay even more than the solo missions. You won't get bored. If you're thinking something seems boring, just warp to an unexplored system and find new creatures, plants, minerals, and some of the most extreme weather conditions you've ever seen. You are guaranteed to never see everything the game has to offer because there are over 18 quintillion planets (specifically, 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 planets) to discover! No that is not a typo. There really are six commas in that number. I highly recommend the game. Buy a decent headset so you can communicate with other players...I got the Turtle Beach headset.
