I bought these as backups/travel glasses since I only currently have one pair of reading glasses. And since I travel a lot, having backup/additional pairs seemed like a good idea. I paid $17 for my current pair and they aren't designed for portability. The first thing I noticed with these was the design. Excellent design for compact storage/portability. Case looks like a lighter and glasses fold up to go inside. Arms are telescoping like an antenna. Don't know how durable they are or how long they'll hold up, but like anything, if you're careful and gentle with them they should last a good while. After all, they're reading glasses, not everyday eyewear to be worn out and about.

I've bought a number of different kinds of folding glasses and this design is probably my overall favorite. The telescoping temples makes them super compact without any folding difficulties. The temples fully extended are not as long as the folding temple models so that may be a factor for some people. I also like the easy to open hard case (opens like a lighter cap - no zippers or velcro like other soft case models) for easy storage in places where it could be crushed (i.e. luggage, jacket, backpack, pant pocket). The lenses are good but need to be cleaned frequently because it's so compact it's tricky to avoid touching them. I also find they fog up if kept close to the eyes so I wear them slightly down the bridge of my nose which works fine because they have a comfortably snug fit so as not to fall off even if looking straight down. Great product from a great seller (fast shipping, well packed, and in perfect condition). Highly recommended!

Great pair of reading/computer glasses. I paid a lot more for just one pair of these at the drugstore, different brand though. These are just as good if not better and you get 2 pairs, an excellent value for quality specs. I would like to see them in higher potency like 3.00 or 3.50. Still a great deal and half the price of the drugstore brand for 2 pairs. Excellent quality. I'm sure I'll be buying more for friends and family in the near future.

I purchased these and three pair of Southern Seas Mens Womens Folding Reading & Travel glasses at the same time. These are far better. The case itself is significantly smaller and feels great in the hand and is much sturdier than the other case. The glasses, with their telescoping arms, are much classier and better designed than the South Seas ones. In fact, I'd call these "folding glasses -- the Next Generation" By far the best designed and executed folding glasses I've ever seen.

Iā€™m very pleased with this purchase. The reading glasses is just as good, if not better than Foster Grantā€™s similar product and it is way cheaper! The Double take doesnā€™t have the brand stamped on it and itā€™s just slightly bigger in the case. The hinge in the middle also seems to be better on the double take. Maybe because itā€™s new and Iā€™ve had my foster grants for a while. For the price, I highly recommend this product over foster grant. The quality is just as good.

These are great traveling glasses that you can keep handy just in case the need to read small print arises. Case reminds me of a Zippo lighter in it's size and am still trying to practice the Zippo flip to open it. I can easily carry a pair in my pocket and keep one handy on my motorcycle as well as the car in case I need to read a small menu or business card. These would not be suitable for reading a book or something long as they do not wrap around your ears. The sides telescope out and rest on top of your ears so wearing them when a lot of movement is required wouldn't work well. I bought another very small type at the same time "Handy Mini Flip Top Eyeglasses Case & Lightweight Folding Reading Glasses" While they are slightly smaller - about the size of a disposable lighter they do not work nearly as well. They have pieces that go around your ears but your head would need to be very small for them to fit. In addition they are shipped from China and take a while to arrive. I would stick with this type as they are far superior. They work for me.

I needed something I could put in my pocket that wouldn't be obtrusive like my regular glasses + case and these are exactly what I was looking for. They fold up quite small and like earlier reviews, think a little bit larger than a Zippo lighter. They weren't easy to fold out the first time I used them nor did they fit in the case well once I removed them. However after using them for a week they open easy without being loose, and fit in the case perfectly with minimal effort. The earpieces are telescopic and sometimes push back in when I put them on until I realized the frames are hinged - which took care of that problem. The case closes with a magnet and I have yet to have them open in my pocket (I'm pretty active). Perfect for when you need to read a menu or you need help reading something really quick - I don't think they would work for me as replacements for my daily readers but they work very well in a pinch. I'm noticing they aren't quite a strong as my readers of the same power, but that could be anything from the shape to where my eyes center through the lenses. They seem relatively scratch resistant - but again I don't use them all the time nor do I plan on dropping them any time soon. Summary? 12 bucks - 2 glasses, very small, sturdy, easy decision.

These folding readers are identical in form and function to the overpriced branded versions, found in local retail outlets. The materials used and quality of construction is identical to the other brands. The glass is clear, and the magnification power is accurate. These DoubleTake readers are light weight, and durable enough for everyday use. The included protective cases are also identical in quality to the name brands. The lids secure with rare-earth magnets, and stay closed until you flick them open. Like you, I base my purchase decisions on the experiences of others. Portability is the main reason for this purchase. I'm of the age where I now need readers for fine print, menus, etc. I have a pair of prescription progressives but don't want to have to take them everywhere. These little beauties are perfect for the glove box, desk droor, etc. I wouldn't recommend them for long term wear but for quick needs they are perfect. The are very compact and fold out nicely. The case has a magnetic closure and is very sturdy. the glasses don't look half bad when wearing them either. Having to carry glasses around when you don't need them for everything is a real pain. These little guys do the job and make it less painful. I'll be buying more to stash at work and around the house.

These are compact and quick to unfold, and easily fit in my pants pocket. They are great reading glasses. Regular reading glasses always fall out of my shirt pocket, which is why I especially like these foldable ones. The telescoping earpieces are cool. I had looked at a brand of lenses that just sit on your nose with no earpieces, but was afraid they might fall off. But these foldable ones will stay in place. The only complaint I had about a competing pair of these folding glasses was that one of the little plastic pieces on the end of the earpieces came off, making it tricky to make them small again to fit in the case. The way to avoid that is not to pull on them very hard when telescoping. These DoubleTake glasses are made identically to some I'd bought at a drugstore chain for $25. But these ones are 70% cheaper, an excellent deal. I am very happy with these folding glasses.
