Well Thought Out

These were purchased to replace the traditional cardboard file boxes. They were going to be exposed on shelves in my office for about 6 months and I just wanted something more attractive than the white and black cardboard boxes. They are well designed. They arrive flat, but fold out within seconds. The linen finish is very attractive and they appear to be very durable. I am using them in the legal file mode and I have no difficulty placing legal hanging folders in the box and having the box lid fit just fine. Once this project is over, I'm going to collapse them and store them to use next time. Certainly more expensive than the traditional cardboard boxes, but you do get what you pay for.

Attractive and functional

I bought this file box to organize many of my mom's important papers as I have recently become her caregiver. It is perfect for the job and looks much nicer than the plastic boxes. Some people have complained that the lid will not close good once files are in it or the files will not slide well over the linen surface of the box. I have found no problem with either. The files slide just fine and the lid fits well even with all the files in it. I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely purchase it again if the need arises.

These are functional and lovely. But, I have two quibbles. As many other reviewers stated, the cloth makes for poor sliding of files. Just like another reviewer, I found a $3 fix by installing masonite end caps. That was sort of a pain until I got the hang of it, but now they're perfect. The manufacturer should include these. I also wish they'd included little cards for the label pockets. I made mine out of cut down business cards and stick on mailing labels I printed. That said, they are so perfect. I love them.

Sweet! but no label cards... :(

I bought two sets of the collapsible file storage boxes. They're very well built and look great! I have no issues with the hanging of standard hanging file folders with the metal hanger rails. The issues I have are that the hanging file folders don't slide on the fabric covering the boxes and that there are no label cards. The sliding issue is to be expected on the fabric cover, but it would have been reasonable to have included a few label cards.

A sturdy file box with pleasing aesthetics.

Wanted something which would look nice. Because of limited space, and the necessity of accessing files, I went with this file box. It looks great and so far it’s held up nicely. The file box is moved around daily, I should rephrase this, I kind of gently kick or nudge it a round with my foot. I’m not certain how the fabric is attached, but it’s on this file box real well. I’m very happy with this file box and looks so much better than a plain ol bankers box. I’ll probably be ordering another one of these towards the end of the year. If you use hanging file folders with this file box like I do, they do tend to hang up on the fabric, but has not ripped the fabric, and I don’t find this to be an issue for me..

Sturdy, well-made, not great for hanging files.

These are great file boxes. Two things would make them awesome - they didn’t include labels and they don’t close well if you use hanging file folders. The lids are really tight. But they are well made and very sturdy.

Sturdy, durable and classy looking

These by far exceeded my expectations. I bought another 4 because I am in the process of a major organization project and these are perfect because they are very clean and classy looking, so can be set on an open shelf, and they are very sturdy and durable. I’m using them for my files as well as other things like office supplies and small electronics I don’t use every day. They are perfect for getting clutter put away when your home doesn’t have enough cabinets and drawers.

I was first looking to buy a file cabinet but they tend to be expensive, and they were too big to fit where I wanted. These boxes work perfectly for my needs. They are well made, good quality, look good and I can stack them accordingly to the space I have available in my closet or under my desk. To help with the sliding of the hanging folders on the fabric, I simply added sliding bars (I bought some “sliding bar report covers” from Office Depot, and placed the sliding bars on both sides of the box. So now the folders are sliding easily! ***REVIEW UPDATE: I love those boxes so much, that I ordered some more in the charcoal color. I also had to communicate with the seller for some questions about their product availability (the charcoal pack of 4), and I had exceptional customer service! They were very helpful and made sure to accommodate my needs! Very happy with the product and the seller! I would definitely buy from them again! Highly recommended!

Just what I was looking for!

For years I've been looking at file boxes or cabinets that could be left out in view, but the furniture-looking ones are exorbitantly expensive and have terrible reviews on quality. And who wants ugly plastic except in a basement?? I'm looking to convert a home office into a bedroom; since the room is isolated from TV's and everyday living we just never use it (and NEVER do our filing), but with three home businesses we need a solution for all those papers. I am SO pleased with these, the size is perfect to tuck handily in our bedroom closet (for me) and to keep downstairs in the open for him. There was some assembly required, and I wasn't expecting a soft bottom; but once you unfold and insert the "floor" it feels quite stable and very easily able to hold the amount of papers that fit in the box. The heathered fabric is contemporary and neutral and since hanging files rest on the wall itself, there is no extra slide rail that can break. And extra bonus, it was within my price range. I will likely purchase more at some point, so please keep these around!
