8" powered speakers. Great for small parties.
I was looking for studio monitors to record mixes but I still wanted speakers to be able to dj small parties. I just started Dj-ing & don't have much money to spend so I bought these instead. These are perfect! they are loud enough for small indoor parties. They are small enough to keep in my room & I use them daily. The bluetooth features are great. The stands are sturdy. The microphone is metal not cheap plastic it's feels heavy & high quality in hand it sounds good also. The sound of the speakers lack Bass but in my room it sounds deep but for Parties not so much, I suggest a subwoofer. The inputs & outputs are exactly what I needed. For 8" speakers these are great for the price.

and like a teenager going on his first date
Got my speakers today, and like a teenager going on his first date, I was anxious ! I had read all the bad reports so I did not expect too much, saved the box just in case I had to return it. First I took everything out of the box carefully, removed the plastic wrappers, set up the speaker legs, put the speakers on top (it was heavier than I thought, but not unmanageable for one person to do, two would have made it easier). Tightened all knobs on speaker base and legs, connected the cable from main to satellite speaker, connected the power cord to main speaker and to the wall socket, turned system on, pressed mode (at back of main speaker) to Bluetooth, looked for new device on my iPhone, found it, looked for a song, pressed play, adjusted volume a bit and wham! Beautiful rich sound came out!, all my fear and trepidation about the other reviewers reports was in vain, it sounds awesome! Plenty of bass, looks of treble (I did order a subwoofer but it did not come at the same time) At very little volume it can be heard all over my house (a good above average size house with lots of insulation) Tried the microphone, true, the cable is somewhat short, but long enough for me, I was not looking to sit down on a sofa and use it, all in all, and I very pleased with what I got for just a bit over $200, how can any company build something this good for this price? Quality seems to be above average (I worked for Lexus for many years, I KNOW about quality!) Incredible sound for the money, I am very glad I bought it! Hope this helps someone make a decision.

Great for home theater!
I bought the 8" for my home theater and am very happy! The Bluetooth is ok for music and TV. We learned the RCA connection give better music and TV experience. So, wife uses it for her music on her cell with Bluetooth and the TV uses the RCA connections. I like having one speaker by the TV and other by the couch. Such a different TV experience now. We replaced our 8yr sound bar and sub. Very happy I did! If you are looking for something to DJ with, i'd go with the 12s. The 8s are loud, but for DJ stuff, the 12s would be better in my honest opinion. But, if you're looking for garage or TV speakers, the 8s are just fine!!

Well built speaker with many features.
I got these speakers to have a nice karaoke set up for when we do parties with the family. We used them this weekend for a birthday party and it was perfect. The wired mic worked well and it I was able to use the 2 wireless microphones we already had. I was surprised at how large they were I and I am impressed how solid they are. I seen reviews where they came in damaged and mine were perfect. It would be nice to have a short instruction sheet how to install the wheels but after a few minutes I was able to get them set up. So far the sound on these are great, if your playing these direct from Bluetooth be sure to have a good quality music source some sources seemed very quite but that wasn't the speakers problem it was more of a problem from my input source. We used these for 6 hours at our party with kids from 3 y/o to 60 y/o singing and everyone was impressed.

Great Unit so far!
Package came a day early! it was packed excellently! I will be using these mainly as my Ceremony Sound system for my DJ business. and PA System rental. they look and sound great so far. I might buy a 2nd System to get true stereo (Stereo inputs are Summed together mono through both speakers). I could use the passive speakers as monitors with another amp and mixer I will not be using the cables that came with the system, but the mic actually sounds pretty good. I will be using a 50' speaker cable to spread the speakers out more.

LOUD,TALL & FRIGGIN JAMMIN!
Don't listen to any bad reviews. These were the best close to 300 bucks ever spent. My brothwr and I went half on these for DJ.ing parties and they are gonna do the trick 100%. Well made and heavy duty even. So in love with them

Many great uses
Have used these during several events at our home both to provide music and address the crowd. Well built units with sturdy stand and have multiple input possibilities from MP3 player/iPod, Bluetooth or SD card. Everything you need is in the box, the sound of these is REALLY great and they can be controlled remotely. I purchased an additional cord so the speakers could be placed further apart than is possible with the cord included in the set.

Excellent sound!
These sound really good, and can get very loud. Love the Bluetooth! (I have owned/used several powered speakers professionally and this is my first Bluetooth powered speaker purchase). Recently used these outside for a wedding ceremony and the sound quality outdoors was excellent. Only complaint I have is that both speakers are not powered, Only the main one is powered and it pushes power and sound to the other, passive speaker. However this does not compromise sound quality, so that is good. I guess another advantage of this is that you are not forced to supplying power to the other speaker. IMHO it is still a great set of speakers for a decent price.

Great For My Community Events!
As mayor of a small city in Upstate NY, we occasionally have small parades and other outside events that needed a sound-system that carried over the crowd. Earlier, we used smaller amps and the sound was lost by not reaching over the crowds and the folks in the back had a hard time hearing the dignitaries. These Rockville speakers were researched and I decided to purchase them. THESE SPEAKERS ARE GREAT. The Bluetooth setup was a nice touch as I was able to sync up my iPhone to the bt setting and played Irish music before and after our St. Patrick's Day little parade. Easy to set up and break-down, speakers weren't too heavy and easily sets up on top of the tripods. Heights can be adjusted and at the highest settings, from the ground to the top, it measured approximately 8 feet high. They are perfect for my needs at our city's events and they were very affordable. *Must state for the record: we needed a longer cable from one speaker to the other...Original cable measured around 20' between speaker...also needed a longer microphone cord, the provided cable was perhaps only 7' or 8' long. Minor problems but good to know if you have them delivered and time is tight between the delivery and your event.

Great for an outdoor movie theater
I have an outdoor screen so we can watch movies in the pool at night. Originally, I used one of those portable Bluetooth speakers, but even at the loudest setting, you couldn't hear some of the talking. I was a little worried, these wouldn't be loud enough, but they are plenty loud (I am sure the 10" version would have been fine). They are easy to setup, seem pretty sturdy and supporting Bluetooth is nice. I wasn't looking for Bluetooth, but I really like it, so I can hook the laptop to the projector, and hook the sound up through Bluetooth. Microphone and all seems to work fine (not something I really use though). Not sure how they compare for the DJ scene, but if you are looking for a cheap set of speakers for an outdoor movie, these worked great.
