I've been enjoying this for the past couple weeks in soup as well as a replacement for rice, making it tamago kake mochi migu. I like the texture and size of the grain very much. I've also sampled Hakubaku's rameb products and found them equally superb. - The Ramen Rater

Outstanding texture when added to regular japanese medium/short grain rice. Made in electric rice cooker. I love mochi barley also known as mochi gome in Japan. This is a new variety of pearlized barley used for aiding in digestion ie constipation and weight loss in Japan. The texture when combined with regular sushi rice is terrific. I also mix third each of this with and mannan hikari for weight loss and digestion. Now i use half this and steel cut oat to make breakfast in instant pot.

Also good source of beta-glucans

Easy to cook, good looking! the grains looks perfect and they call same size. Making good desert.

OK first off.. this is not your typical barley as it cooks pretty fast. And when I use this instead of rice in my dishes it makes the texture and flavor better. The best part is that my kids like my risotto, so I put a couple packs in with the rice and once I season and cook it.. they just eat it up and keeps them going without snacking. So its pretty easy to sneak something healthy in. Have used it in stuffing, mixed it in with oatmeal and fruit, and am going to try it in some oatmeal cookies.

Cooks well in my hotpot. Tasty and satisfying.

Enjoy my barley stand alone or cooked with rice. Healthy choice .. a great add-in any recipe ...
