Great buy but I have some tips....
Great book and system but I recommend that you plan on sitting with the child to help them go through the book together the first couple of times because I found that it can be a little overwhelming for them and easily discourage them unless you walk them through it well so they can see how it works exactly. They will be more engaged by it then and I believe they get more out of it and learn better, like the books are intended to teach them. After that, the repetition and working on their own a bit really embeds the knowledge for them. I bought this for my 3.5 yr old grandson who is very tech savvy already and quite sharp. :) I hope this review helped.

Engaging, Interactive and Fun! Perfect for 2.5 Year Old. Money Well Spent!
My 2.5 year old is extremely engaged with her LeapStart and this book. By the way, the one star review from the buyer who complained it didn't make sounds was obviously not informed it ONLY works with a LeapStart System. My daughter will sit with this book whilst I do the laundry or cook dinner. I wanted an interactive device for her other than the iPad. She is extremely apt with the iPad and granted we have lots of educational apps on it, I feel less guilty if she spends a lot of time with her LeapFrog LeapStart system. This book is fantastic for her age. I'm actually surprised she is engaged to this extent. It's the only book we own other than the demo that came with the LeapStart system. Money well spent.

Great Learning Book
I absolutely love this book to help my daughter learn to read and write. She is three and has grasped how to write most of her letters due to me creating dot to dot letters for her to trace. This also does the dot to dot form and it does help a lot. It also has mazes and different cute characters. There is variety and it keeps my daughters interest, which is always the hardest to find. I would recommend this.

all of the Leap Frog products are for the same little 4 yr old who just started pre k this fall, I k now they will help him to learn to read and write while having fun too. My oldest grandchildren had them all several years ago, but have lost them over the years. I only have one more grandchild to buy this stuff for and she is less than 2 right now so I have plenty of time to find her favorites! I have given all 4 of my grandchildren Leap Frog books and pens they are well worth there price, for the learning fun and abilities. I will always stand by this product.

3D Book Adds A New Dimension To Learning
Our almost four year old twins like playing with LeapStart’s 3D books, especially Math In Action. Teaching with characters they know and love, like Dory and Lightning McQueen, makes learning so much more enjoyable. There are over thirty re-playable activities inside this particular book. Some concepts that are touched upon are creating number sequences, identifying shapes, interpreting graphs and comparisons. If the twins need some extra help, they rely on their six year brother for assistance, and he’s happy to oblige. He likes the more challenging sections found in the book, so it’s age appropriate for everyone in this house. This book can be played on any LeapStart system, but only the 3D version has a tiny screen that adds audio and visual reinforcement to activities. The kids like the addition of interactive animations.

High interest. Lots of fun for 4 year old.
My son loves the different options and already has favorite pages that are easier for him to do mostly independent and feel successful. There are also more complex pages that we can navigate together and learn. Love that he is learning north, east, south, west ansany problem solving activities. He gets so excited to figure it out and get the positive reinforcement from the pen as well as earning stickers from the book.

We enjoy LeapFrog's line of LeapStart books
We enjoy LeapFrog's line of LeapStart books. It has helped our oldest very quickly pick up reading, sounding out of letters, writing, and other educational material. I highly recommend it to parents with little ones. We keep LeapStart in the vehicle, and instead of having our oldest veg out watching movies, we give him this, and he'll sit there for 1-2 hours playing with it.

3 year old point of view
My soon-to-be 3 yr old adopted son loves the LeapStart. He is happy to play it, but unfortunately, it doesn't hold his attention like the Leap Pad does (we have an older Leap Pad). This book is one of the best books for the LeapStart. Depending on your child's attention span, they will love this book. If you found my review helpful, please click on the "helpful" button below. for kids over 5 years old.
Bought this along with the main Learning System for my nephew for his 6th birthday. I was worried it might be too easy for him but he loves it. He loves the LeapStart Interactive Learning System and all of the books he has so far. Some of the Pre-K books are a little bit too easy for him and he kind of gets bored with them after a little while but this book is one of the more challenging and entertaining Pre-K activity books so it keeps him entertained. And it's a good refresher so that he can practice some of the easier writing skills he learned before kindergarten.
